Konnichiwa, minna-san!
As I've been lurking for awhile (Actually, it's that I haven't been on-line
for more than a few minutes for awhile), I'll send this little thing, part
two in the Partie's trilogy. As last time, I only got C&C from
Murasaki-san, I'm hoping this time it'll get a more positive responce.
Anyhow, Zelgadis and the rest of the characters belong to their respective
owners (Zelgadis himself belongs to Hajime Kanzaka and Rui Araizumi.) But,
hey, can't a writer have a little fun?
The Paintball Game,
Or
Another Day Through Zelgadis's eyes.
If you've heard my other story, you know who I am. For those who didn't-I'm
Zelgadis Greywers, chimera. Before, I was stuck at a party.
-Look out, Zelgadis! -Shouts someone. I quickly hide behind a barrier so
that
the paintballs don't hit me.
Now, I'm stuck at a paintball game. And not just any paintball game.. One
that was organized by Xelloss. We know things are going to get out of
control, right? Remember when I went to ask Lina if she were coming to this
gig? She said yes. Now, I just hope she doesn't Fireball any judge for
trying
to keep her out for getting hit. Anyway, time to get back to reality. We
are
split into two teams. I'm against: Our sugar-hyped five, Ryo-Ohki, the two
girls, and the guy they tried to tear apart, Gourry (We're in trouble
now-Gourry has excellent aim), Washuu, Xelloss, the Inner Senshi, Dick
Saucer,
and Nuku-Nuku. On my team are: Lina, Yohko, the Outer Senshi, Shilfiel
(Just
my luck), the two police officers, Team Rocket, Pikachu, the shape-shifters
(And there are pools of hot and cold water nearby), Ash, Brock, and Misty
(Pikachu's friends, and Ash its trainer), the prince (I now know his name
is
Mamoru), Ihrie and finally, Mink, the Dragon Half. Both also contain some
people I do not know. From the side, I then hear a sharp wail.
-I don't want to fight Dick Saucer!!! -Cries Mink. Oh LoN-sama.. I come up
to
her, because my ears, more sensitive then most, wouldn't be able to take
much
more.
-Mink, I don't want to fight Gourry and everyone either, well, except maybe
Xelloss, but it's just a game! I'm sure he'll like you just the same. -I
try
to comfort her. She stops crying.
-You think? Huwway, huwway!-She opens her wings, and begins flying around
happily, holding her paintball gun. At least she's not wailing anyore. That
was a dangerous decibel level. Then, Amelia, Usagi, Sasami, Azusa,
Chibi-Usa, and Fam also start wailing, not wanting to fight. I go to
Ranma-chan (The girl with the red hair), and ask for a pair of earmuffs.
She
says she'd like to give them to me, but.. She gets interruped by a blue
haired girl who looks kind of like Sailormercury. Then, Ranma-chan gets
smashed into a few walls for not eating her cooking. When Ranma-chan is
actually left alone behind the barricade, I ask her why she didn't eat it.
-Akane's cooking is poisonous.
-Just like Lina's. -I then duck a barrage of paintballs.
-Remember those fish with the fireball? -I yell to her.
-I don't think yours was much better! -She calls back.
-Actually, when I came back to the castle once, I found Noonsa's bones!
Someone actually ate him!
Lina growls, and gives me another barrage of paintballs, so I have to dodge
behind yet another barricade. Behind me, Xelloss suddenly appears, and is
about to fire, when I jump high in the air, and get him from the back.
That was a little close. Didn't I tell you? Xelloss allowed the use of
magic.
We are in trouble. As long as Lina doesn't try to blow us up, we might
be halfway all right. At least the uniform helps to blend in. Otherwise,
not
all would have made it.
-Ow!! Don't fire at my.. Quack, quack!
I look to the side where the yell came from. It was one of the
shapeshifters.
Looks like his glasses got hit, and he fell into the pool of cold water.
What
we have now, is a duck in a military outfit with glasses, and trying to
manage a paint gun. I hope no one else falls in those springs. Especially
me.
The results would be disastrous, if not worse. The Cursed Springs of
Jusenkyo. One falls into a spring-they come out as whatever drowned in the
spring. They can change back, with a spring that reverses it. Or,
temporarily
with hot water. When they are splashed with cold water, they turn back,
however. Still, I have enough problems with this skin.
-Prepare for trouble!
-Make it double!
Team Rocket seems to be at it again. Five, four, three, two, one... A
shower
of paintballs from the opposite team knocks the notorious trio down from
their tree, on which they stood. I've never played this game before, but
I'm
simply not so stupid to do something like this! I come up to them, and as I
pass, I say a simple word.
-Baka.
At the same time, another voice, female, also pronounces something.
-Baka.
We both stare at each other. She looks about nine, with huge yellow eyes,
and
blue hair tied in ponytails. It reaches down to her waist. She has a
uniform
that says "Mobile Battleship Nadesico."
-And you might be? -I ask her.
-I'm Ruri-Ruri. I didn't know someone else used my trademark word!
-Well, it seemed to be the only word to actually fit the situation.
-Heh. Agreed. What's your name?
-My name is Zelgadis. And you weren't frightened by my appearance.
-I've seen much worse.
Two yells come from the other side.
-GEKIGANGER MEGA BLASTER!!!!!!!
Two guys from the opposite team are firing at us, while yellng crazy
phrases
from a robotic show. We quickly go in a little rocket ship, out the back,
and
behind another little barricade.
-Like that. -She says. -Those two work on the Nadesico, my ship.
-I feel a little sorry for you.
-Who do you work with?
I point at Lina, Gourry, Xelloss, Amelia and Shilfiel.
-I feel a little sorry for YOU now. -She's pointing out the fact that Lina
found food.
-They're very good friends, however.
-Probably, yes. I'm the only one with enough knowledge to do anything
practical on an advanced ship like the Nadesico, so I'm stuck. But me and
Yurika are becoming pretty good friends.
-Yurika?
She shows me a blue haired girl, now trying to hug with some excuse one of
the guys that fired at us.
-She reminds me of Amelia.
-Which one of your friends is that?
-WAIIIII!!!!!!! -Amelia shouts.
-That one! -I quickly yell, and run for it once she spots me. As Amelia
runs
by Ruri-Ruri, she shoots her with a few paintballs, saying her favorite
word.
-Baka.
I thank her, and then we have to run apart to avoid more blasts of
paintballs.
Now, I've stumbled somewhere strange. As I decend into the cavern I ducked,
I find paintball-playing hares, mice and shrews. They try to capture me,
but
I simply get the hell out of there. I end up behind the enemy lines, right
behind the sugar hyped five (Minus Amelia, whom Ruri-Ruri put out). I don't
have the heart-actually, I just don't want to go deaf from their wailing-to
shoot them. So, I slowly float up into a nearby tree, and stay there for a
few minutes.
-Mewow! Meow! Kurmeow!! -Is heard from the branch near my own. Nuku-Nuku is
aiming her gun at me. From surprise, I fall off the branch, and land right
under the gun of.. Washuu. Now, I'm in trouble. She grins evilly.
-Chimera, you're mine!
I can't do a thing-my gun has been thrown off with the hit to the ground,
and hers is to my chest. I am completely and totally helpless against her.
Knowing Washuu, those bullets might actually hurt me, so I can't move. I
gulp,
as she begins listing the properties of life, interested whether I counted
as
a living thing or not.
-I wonder if you reproduce..
I gulp again. She isn't going to..
-YAA!
>From above, someone shoots Washuu down, and drags me and my gun into
another
tunnel. Yohko!
-Thank you. If not for you, in a few minutes, I'd be experimented on.
She laughs.
-It was nothing. I didn't want to see my friend shot down like that. Sorry
about my dissapearance the last time we met. Azusa confused grape juice
with
wine, and you can guess the rest.
I imagine it, and wince.
-You consider me a friend, even with my appearance?
She smiles.
-Yeah, sure! Why not?
-Well, I'm kind of a hideous monster.
She smacks me.
-Huh?
-That's a stupid thing to say! For 1/3 demon, you look pretty cute! Plus,
you
sing so well!
Thank L-sama it's dark, so she doesn't see my face turn red. I'm not used
to
compliments about my singing, even more about my appearance.
-R.. Really? -I stutter.
-Yeah. -She confirms. Then she giggles.
-What's so funny?
-I imagined your reaction to my compliment. You look even cuter when you
blush!
I turn completely beet red, and she giggles some more. Then, once we cool
down, we leave to search the tunnels. I 'accidentally' separate from her.
In
truth, I just can't take any more compliments.
I climb out behind Pikachu and the Pok�mon trainers. Pikachu has a little
paint gun, and it's pointing it around, looking bravely, and saying "Pika,
Pika!" to prove it. What they don't see is the boy that was earlier torn
apart, Tenchi, I think, aiming at them from underground. When Misty finally
spots him, it is too late. A gun fires... And Tenchi is out. I finally
decided to use a few of my large supply of paintballs. They all turn around
and stare at me. I stare at them.
-You're frightened by my looks, aren't you?
-Uh.. -Began Misty.
-No, we were just a little surprised by them. -Interrupts her Ash.
-To tell the truth, we were amazed. -Adds Brock.
-Oh.
-Pika-pika, pikachu, pika? -Asks Pikachu.
-It's asking you why you shot down Tenchi. -Translates Ash.
-We're teammates, aren't we?
-Well, yeah, but..
-It's kind of self explanatory, then. -I respond. -Until the next time we
meet.
Then I leave. As soon as I'm out of their vision range, I chuckle,
realizing
what I just did. Some ever-so-noble behavior helps sometimes. I just hope
Amelia didn't see this. She will start congradulating me in the name of
Justice. I remember the first time we met...
-You guys are really, really.. -Amelia began, once learning that we killed
Rezo.
-Amazing? -Interrupted her Lina.
-No, I was going to say evil. -She corrected.
Then Lina went in a quick little rage, and was yelling at poor Amelia at
the
top of her lungs.
-WE'RE WHA-AT?
-B.. But who's he? He's so creepy and suspicious looking! -Amelia tried to
defend herself, accidentally insulting me in the process.
-Well, excuse me! -I grumbled.
-Amelia, anyone who judges people by the way they look alone, really give
Justice a bad name! Sure, Zelgadis may seem a little creepy at first
glance... -Lina lectured.
-Well, excuse me! -I responded to her lecture.
-But he's sort of ok. -She continued.
-Sort of? -I asked. Lina continued her story as if I hadn't existed.
I chuckle again. That was a very, very long time ago. I didn't realize at
first how long it truly had been since I first met Lina. I wonder what she
was thinking a few times there, and what happened in my absence, how they
met
Amelia, etc... Perhaps I'll ask her someday. I shake my head to snap out of
it, and look from behind the barrier. The Inner Senshi, headed by
Sailormoon,
are shooting at the Outer Senshi, headed by Chibimoon, and vice versa. It
would be pointless to try to do anything. I then hear something from up in
the tree.
-Chibi-Chibi!! -A little girl says, aiming a little paint gun at me.
ANOTHER Sailosenshi? Now I know why Moon was so surprised when I talked of
Amelia as a champion of Justice. How many can there be? Wanting to keep in
the game, I fire. She gets hit, but doesn't cry, and happily bounces to the
judges. I'll never understand some people.
-Hey you! Did you shoot Tenchi down? -Asks some voice from behind me.
I turn around.
-Yes. Is there a problem?
The two girls that were trying to tear Tenchi apart yesterday stand in
front
of me.
-Yes, indeed there is. I am Princess Aeka of the Jurai royal family, and
shooting down my beloved will not go forgiven! -Says the girl with purple
hair.
-How many princesses that want to attack me are in this game? -I call to no
one in particular. Then, I groan.
-See, Aeka, he hates you already! -Says a girl with spiky blue hair. -I'm
Ryoko, space pirate! I love Tenchi, and you put him out! This won't be
forgiven!
-Copycat! -Yells Aeka.
I then get an idea. It seems those two hate each other..
-No! You copied my thoughts!
-Ha! You know the Jurai royal family will go on forever!
-You mean keep falling forever!
Heh. It seems I won't need my idea after all. While the two are fighting, I
simply shrug and walk away. I then watch from a safe stronghold, as the two
finally realize that I'm long gone, and attack each other, even though they
are one the same team. I right away remember Ruri-Ruri's favorite word,
baka.
>From behind the 'out' barrier, Washuu shouts.
-Her, chimera! If my team wins, you'll be experimented on!
Ok, I can just hope we win. I did some research on Washuu-I'm in trouble.
She
hangs on to what she says. I look around from the barricade. Our two police
officers have lost control of their guns, and shot each other. Oh, sheesh..
Mamoru and Gourry, both much more skilled with swords then with guns
accidentally hit each other. Luck seems to play a pretty large role in this
game. Otherwise, both teams would still have a lot of members. But as far
as
I can see, only I and Lina are left on this team. Too bad. She doesn't see
me.
The only one left on the opposite team is Sailormars. She fires at Lina,
who
has no time to get out of the way. Since she shoots much better then I do,
I
jump in front of her. I get hit in the chest, and collapse-the damn thing
hit
a pressure point.
-Zel!
She drags me behind a barricade. I wave my hand to say I'm all right, even
though I'm still gasping for breath. I somehow manage to tell her to shoot
Mars down. She nods, getting all sentimental on me. Then, with one good
shot, it's over. We win. As we walk back, Lina asks me why I did it.
-You shoot much better then I do, and for some reason I wanted for us to
win.
She nods.
-I'd have done the same in your place. It's rare that one sees YOU playing
hard, though!
-Believe me, there was more then one reason for all my strange behavior.
I then tell her of a few things that happened during the game. I leave a
few
things out, though.
-So, you didn't want for Washuu to win?
-Nuh-uh. -I shake my head.
-Ya have a good point! I also had a few enemies on the other team. Victory
was
good!
-Very! -I laugh, and decide to leave off chronicles of the mind before
Xelloss tries anything funny again.
