I disagree. While the Longs act cavilierly with their own lives, that's
because they're volunteers. They expressly do not coerce others, and
they do not endanger the welfare of others without their consent - and
they don't accept the prospect of harming children. In "To Sail Beyond
The Sunset" and "The Cat Who Walks Through Walls", as well as many other
Heinlein books, the theory of 'the ends justify the means' is soundly
rejected.
No member of the Long family would condone the creation and abuse of a
child because the end-product would be useful. They would consider such
an act to be evil. If it was the only way to accomplish a mission, then
they would allow that mission to fail.
Ah...yessss.... This is all true. But the Time Corps are not the only ones who
could be behind it. Perhaps the crossover could start with Ranma as the
product of the machinations of their "competition".
