Oh man, what a haul... It was a little after 3:00 AM in Nerima, as Happosai entered the Tendo household with a giant bag full of bras and panties. This had been one of the more successful raids for the Master of the Anything Goes School of Martial Arts. As Happosai set down the bag, the phone began to ring.

Hello? Happosais eyes widened as the man on the other end spoke.

What do you mean she quit? She cant quit. Oh, so shes still doing it, just not under you jurisdiction. No, I do not think it is a good idea to activate her. Shes not ready....but look....no......dammit, shes got other problems, she doesnt need this.

Happosai became angrier and angrier as he continued his argument.

Well....I dont need this either, you know. Ive got a pretty good life here. I know of the oath I took.....what are you gonna do? What? You wouldnt? You did.

Yes, we did. Hell be at the house in 30 seconds. Now for once in your life take some damn responsibility, the voice on the other end of the phone said. But no one
responded, Happosai was already bounding up the steps to.......

******

Akane slept peacefully in her bedroom. It had been the first sleep she had gotten in two days since she stumbled upon Ukyou and Ranma making out in the dojo. Akanes world had shattered in that instant. Out of guilt, Ranma admitted that he and Ukyou had been seeing each other since shortly after the failed wedding a year earlier. Ukyou had been so desperate to stop the nuptials that Ranma finally realized how much she cared for him,
and slowly, he realized that he too cared for her.

But that was the problem. As Ranma finally gave into his feelings for Ukyou, Akane had allowed her feelings towards Ranma to change, and grow into love. But then had come the nightmare two days earlier. Akane had gone into the dojo determined to get Ranma to agree to take her to Furikan Highs graduation dance, and instead found Ranma and Ukyou locked in a passionate embrace. Rather than scream RANMA NO BAKA and mallet both Ranma and Ukyou into the stratosphere, Akane had instead collapsed to the ground and began sobbing uncontrollably. Hearing her cries, Genma and Soun had come running into the dojo and had seen Ranma holding Ukyou in his lap.

In the shouting match that ensued, Ranma finally stood up for himself, and declared that he was going to marry Ukyou, even if it meant ruining his family honor. Soun then kicked Ranma and Genma out of the house, banishing them back to Nodoka and her katana. Of course, Nodoka didnt kill Ranma or Genma. Rather, she welcomed them
back, then kicked Ranma out of the house when she found out about Ukyou. The last anyone had heard, Ranma was living at Ucchans.

Now, two days, and much crying, later, Akane finally slept peacefully. At least, she slept peacefully until she heard the heavy breathing from above her.

P-Chan...?

No, it was not P-Chan. P-Chan did not have glowing yellow eyes and thick fangs.

Who..who are you? Akane had thought she knew what fear was, but now she knew fear on a whole new level. Standing before her was a long-haired, pale-skinned man in
his early 20s. He had giant fangs protruding from his mouth, and his forehead was twisted into a permanent glare. He looked almost primal in his appearance.

My name is not important, Slayer.

Slayer? Wh-whats a Slayer?

You are, my pretty. At least you were until you met me?

Wh-what the hell are you talking about? Slowly, anger began to replace the fear in Akane. She felt...weird. It was as if some hitherto unknown power had been unlocked
inside Akane with this mans arrival. She felt.....stronger, somehow.

What I mean, is that you are my dinner.

Something inside Akane snapped and she felt more rage and fury than she had ever felt with Ranma. How dare this.....this thing call her dinner. Akane leapt up from the bed, catching the creature off guard and nailed him with a reverse spin kick. Next she hit a chain of urakens (spinning back fists), followed by a cartwheel kick which sent the creature crashing into the wall.

Where the hell did I learn to do that? Akane wondered. As skilled a martial artist as
she was, pulling off complex combinations of moves like that had never been her forte. She usually just used a ki-blast or a mallet shot to win a battle. Even her father had never been particularly good at combos, and Ranma only used them when in the Nekoken trance.

The creature roared in anger as he staggered to his feet. Whatever was human in him ebbed away as an intense bloodlust overtook him. He charged at Akane, only to have her leapfrog over him and kick him in the small of the back, sending him flying out of the window.

Finally, Akane noticed that Happosai was standing in the doorway, watching in awe.

What are you doing here, you old letch?

Happosai shook his head, snapping back to reality. Helping you. He pulled a wooden stake from his jacket and tossed it to her. Here, youll need this.

Huh....but.... Akane stopped. Somehow, she instinctively knew what she must do. Summoning her mallet from subspace, she leapt out the broken window, landing next to the unconscious vampire.

Putting aside the queasiness she felt as she prepared for the task at hand, Akane placed the stake in the middle of the vampires chest, and then drove it into his heart with the mallet.

What the hell is Akane doing??!!?? Happosai spun around to see Nabiki (who shouted the question), Kasumi and Soun standing behind them, all of them horrified at what they had just witnessed. Happosai then looked down at Akane, who, mystified, looked back at him.

Happosai smiled. Shes embracing her destiny, thats what shes doing.

W*ING Higley Presents:

Akane The Vampire Slayer

Prologue:

Location: London, England
Place: Secret Meeting Chamber of the Watchers Council

Are you sure this was wise?

We had no choice in the matter, it was entirely up to fate. And fate dictated that she become the next Slayer.

Yes, but in Japan, for Gods sake?

Do you have a problem with her geographical location? Despite the fact that Buffy Summers resigned from the Council, she is still slaying vampires in the United States. However, vampire activity in Asia has increased tenfold since the death of The Master. Face it, the new Slayer was needed in Japan, not America.

Yes, why is that?

Were not sure, exactly. Apparently, prior to his death, the Anointed One sent several of his minions to Japan to look for artifacts to aid in the resurrection of The Master. After The Master and the Anointed One were killed by Miss Summers, those vampires chose to remain in Asia and set up a new base of operations, starting with Japan.

Indeed, but what is this Summoning of Azgoth that our agents have been mentioning?

Were not entirely sure. From what weve read in Tobins Spirit Guide, Azgoth was a powerful vampire that terrorized China and Japan in the late 15-th century. He was finally defeated by a Slayer from the tribe of Amazons living in China.

How powerful, exactly?

As powerful as Angelus, before the gypsy curse was placed on him.

My God...

Yes.

And you think these vampires may try to resurrect him?

We cant be sure. Were not even sure that our agents are correct. Until then, we can only hope that the Watcher is successful in training this Akane Tendo to the fullest of her abilities.

Thats another thing Im not comfortable with, our Watcher in Japan.

Why? Lech or no lech, he is still a Watcher. Happosai will abide by the Councils decisions......or else.

End prologue.

Authors Comments: First off, Im abandoning Tenchi Muyo!: Road Trip. I just could not feasibly make it work. All of my fanfiction, so far, has dealt primarily with Tenchi Muyo! I havent been too happy with the technical quality of my last two attempts, Ricochet and Road Trip, so I decided to take a break and do what everyone else does, a Ranma fanfic. One of my fellow geeks recently commented how cool a new Star Trek
series would be if Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy The Vampire Slayer) wrote it. I had
also recently read through the fanfic Ranma: Martial Artist in Sunnydale which has Ryoga interacting with members of the Buffy cast. And so, this little monstrosity was born.

And for anyone who feels compelled to argue about OOC Ranma throwing away his family honor, get a damn life. It's just a fanfic. Didnt' "Okatu No Video" teach you anything?
