Chapter Two

Serena looked back at the door. Her mother was finally gone. It had been
quite annoying to see her mother watching her keep track of Sara. She'd
been trusted to watch over the twins for since they were born. Of course
she had to remember that Mom wasn't her mom yet, and wouldn't be for, oh
about nine ... ten months. Sara was fast asleep at the moment. It was
really strange to hold her older sister in her arms. Especially when that
sister was only a baby.
Serena moved to the french doors which opened on to a wide balcony. She
opened them to let in the cool breeze and went to look at the gardens
below. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a silver flash. Suddenly an
evil looking being appeared in the middle of the garden. It was about 7
feet tall, and seemed to be composed of a navy blue oily liquid. As it
moved toward the nursery, it screeched, "kill the baby, kill the baby" over
and over again. It crackled with black lightening as it neared the castle.
"Not on my watch," Serena remarked, pulling out her locket. "Moon Prism
Power!" For the first time, Serena transformed into Sailor Moon, the
classic light show and dressing occurring outside of time. Her clothes
disappeared, and the locket took its place on her chest. Her body was
covered with a white leotard. Then her blue skirt sprouted. And two red
bows, appeared. A yellow crescent moon appeared on her forehead, and then
was covered with a gold tiara. Red jewels covered the meatballs in her
hair, and silver crescent moon earrings adorned her ears. She struck a
pose. Suddenly, to the monster at least, a young girl in a sailor uniform
stood between him and his target.
"Get out of my way!" the monster roared, launching his claws out at the girl
"Not on your life!" Sailor Moon replied, dodging them. The claws
destroyed a gargoyle instead. "I am Sailor Moon, champion of justice. In
the name of the moon, I shall right wrongs and trump over evil. And that
means you!"
	"Oh really," the monster roared.
"Yes really," Moon replied, grasping her tiara. She tossed it, shouting,
"Moon tiara activation!"
The tiara flew out of her hand, toward the monster, who stared blankly, as
it headed toward him. The tiara transformed into a glowing disk of deadly
energy. It wasn't until it was too late that it cried out, in that
tradition cry of the doomed, "Nooooooooo!" It vaporized, leaving behind
only a pile of ash, which Sailor Moon quickly swept off the balcony.

Fleet Admiral Jean-Luc Picard looked down at the grey dust outside his
office door. Then he looked at his son. "Nicholas, tell me that I didn't
see a character from one of Marrissa's anime destroy what appeared to be a
mud creature of Devona V?" he asked.
"Shouting Venus Crescent Beam?" Nicholas replied. "Sorry Dad, I can't
tell you that."

It was time to check up on the scouts. The female Q really wondered what
she had done to get this job. True, Q was the father of her child, but
really was that enough of a reason? She jumped up on to the balcony and
slipped into the nursery, nearly catching her tail in the french doors as
they closed behind her. In the reflection of the full length mirror she
admired her form as she waited for Sailor Moon. The black fur wasn't that
bad, and the sleek body of a house cat didn't look too bad, but why did she
have to have that ridiculous yellow crescent moon on her forehead?
There she was, her first stop of the night. Who ever came up with that
meatball ponytail design was either a genius or loco, and the female Q
hadn't decided yet. Sailor Moon was putting the baby down to bed.
As she stood up, she said softly, "There you are Luna. I wondered when
you would stop by."
"Do we really have to use these names, Serena?" Luna said with some what
of a annoyed tone. Q had started referring to her as that as soon as the
mission had been launched and it was already getting on her nerves.
"I think so," Serena replied. "I wouldn't do to let our enemies know.
Besides, it's fun."
	Luna growled.
"Anyway, I had a monster stop by today," Serena said. "The tiara worked
just like it was supposed to."
"Of course it did," Luna replied. "We wouldn't send you here with
inferior powers. Now what happened."
"It was chanting 'kill the baby'," Serena said, picking Luna up and
sitting in a chair. "So I dusted it."
"You removed the dust from it?" Luna said. "Pardon me, but I hardly think
that would be a sufficient deterrent to a rampaging monster."
"No, I turned the monster into moon dust, killing it," Serena replied.
"Then why didn't you say that in the first place?"
"I thought I did. Anyway, I think it upset the monster."
"Of course it did! You killed him."
"Artemis was right, you are perfect for the role," Serena giggled. "How
are the others?"
"I haven't seen Mercury and Mars yet," Luna said, relaxing a little, as
Serena petted her. "They should be arriving shortly. Central Command
reports that Artemis and Sailor Venus have successfully stopped an attack
on your grandfather, though."
"That's good," Serena said. "Not that grandpa can't take care of himself."
"Not against the negaverse, he can't," Luna replied, jumping down from
Serena's lap. "I better see if Mercury and Mars have arrived."
Serena walked over to the balcony doors and opened them. "Same time
tomorrow, Luna?"
"Same time. Do try not to get into any trouble, Serena."

The science officer stood before the Fleet Admiral's desk. "So you are
telling me that this substance is apparently moon dust?" Jean-Luc Picard said.
"Specifically dust from near Lake Armstrong, sir," the science officer said.
"Very well, you are dismissed," Jean-Luc Picard ordered. After the
officer left, the Fleet Admiral muttered. "What do you know, she really
did turn the monster into moon dust."

A bowl of warm milk and a freshly cooked flounder, warm not hot, there
were advantages to this form, Luna was finding. She'd arrived at the Moon
Kingdom and found that the proprietors already had them waiting for her.
There was still lots of work needed to move the Moon Kingdom from private
ten man ship to Italian restaurant, but Alexis and Kasey were already well
on their way to fixing that. Still they stopped as soon as Luna arrived,
and gave her this meal in an almost apologetic manner. It had taken all of
two minutes to relay Serena's status, and now Luna was enjoying that flounder.
