Hehe.. is this a 911 for assistance here? :)
I don't have the time to do this by myself anymore! <sob>
You've been doing that entire site by yourself? Daaaamn... I'm surprized you
lasted this long. That's a lot of work for one person.
I've had one offer to assist for a while, and I appreciate it muchly
(you know who you are!). That person is the first on my list - if they
say
'yes', then my problem is solved and I'm sorry for wasting your time. :)
That person being -ME- (no need for me to hide or anything...), and seeing
as I have already said -yes-, I do however feel that a third hand would be
handy. I can do HTML decently (nothing whizbang), but someone who can do
some simple java would be appreciated...
But I don't know if they will. What I'd like to do is find someone who
can
help maintain the Couch. Who WANTS to help maintain the Couch, seeing as
how I'm not going to be able to offer much in the way of repayment. :)
Hey, I'm doing it cuz it'll give my site a good home. I consider my
assistance a rental payment. Besides, I've always wanted to create a nice
fanfiction site, but never really had the gumption to do it. Helping out
with one already set up (and nicely, at that) is excellent.
And yes Brian, I am still working on that Matrix/Ranma crossover. I work on
it two hours a night, actually. I simply got myself an official prereader,
rather than posting it on the FFML every week (besides, one part that I
wrote for it would've probably gotten me lynched.) It's grown a LOT... and
after I finish it, I wanna do a short for Kenjiko's 'Girl Days' if he'll
permit me. It won't hinder my work with the site though.
I need someone who is familiar with HTML, although you don't have to
be expert or anything. I've got templates I use already, and they're easy
to follow (have to be, since I do most of my updating in the wee hours. :)
Being familiar with FTP would be a massive bonus, although not necessary.
Anyone interested?
Hehehe... I can do basic HTML (nothing fancy, as I said), I can dance with
FTP like a lover, and I already know your templates. Gee... I hope that's
enough... <grin>
One of the main reasons I'm looking for help is, as the News section
on my site says, The Couch is acquiring it's own domain on/around the
start
of the new year. I'm still hammering out details - this is the 'something
else' related to the Couch that I mentioned up above. I'm paying for this
one out of my own pocket - I still stick to my 'No Ad Banners' promise. :)
I'll let everyone know when it goes through and the new site is up.
(Hiding wallet) Gee, you're paying for this out of your own pocket? That's
devotion man... I'm kinda strapped for cash right now otherwise I'd
contribute but... <lie detector going haywire in the background...>
Hehehe... we'll talk.
Well, I guess that about wraps it up. Sorry about the long-winded
post, folks. :)
Fear not! The couch will have potatoes once more!!!
