Well, I have Nodoka say "sayonara," because she means "goodbye forever,"
so I think that alone warrents its use. However, I welcome any
suggestions for a succinct English word that conveys the same meaning.
My brain is fried at the moment, so I can't think of a thing. ^_^

I'm wracking _my_ brain to come up with an English word that carries the
same permanence as "Sayonara", but it's tough... from the French "Adieu"
to the Chinese "Bie Lao", nearly every other language has a term which
means, "We part now forever." I think this usage was warranted, because
"sayonara" does not _always_ presuppose a permanent ending to the
relationship; in this case, there is some room for ambiguity, which is good,
at least for Genma's peace of mind! :)

Very interesting -- I learn more about Japanese mythology from your stories,
Krista, than from any other source -- and I'm curious to see just _what_ the
Baku has consumed. In my mind's I it, or he, appears as a sort of less-
benevolent Luck Dragon... and, in my mind at least, association with the
Neverending Story books brings up faint chill memories of magic that is
against all logic and monsters than cannot be faced directly. Come to
think of it, that describes your stuff too! :)

Of course, if this enables you to write more, I'm happy... but if it means
you're not working on HOI or Inu-yasha stories... um... well, I'll still be happy :)

Ganbatte yo!
Martin
