Chapter 3:First Love
Duo sat upon the bed, watching his friend and partner type
away on his laptop as usual. He let his own mind wander free.
After the tragedy of the Maxwell Church, he had went into
a long mourning period, one that he never quite recovered
from. Nobody could tell though. Duo had always kept his intermost
feelings inside of him. All he showed a very happy and carefree
teen with no care in the world. He was always the most talkative
person in the group. The talking kept him from thinking about his
past, as did the occasional pranks, not that his friends
appriciated it.
The only things that reminded him of the tragedy were his
style of clothing and his hair. He always wore black, so often
that it had become his symbolizing color. His clothing, like the
cross around his neck, was a rememberance of Father Maxwell. In
honor of Sister Helen, Duo kept his hair in a braid that hung past
his waist. Because of that, he was often mistaken for a girl.
His feminine facial fetures and slim body didn't help the
situation one bit.
Then there were the girls. No matter where he went, it was
always the same. The girls always go right after him and a simple
"I'm not interested" would do nothing to stop them from persuing
him. Eventually, some would give up and start going after Quatre,
but still does nothing to stop them from persuing him.
The only reason he shied away from relationships was not
because he preferred men, but because of the pain his abandonment
caused him byhis parents. Duo had once asked Father Maxwell about
his parents. All he had gotten was the anwer that a young man had
dropped him off, named him Duo, and left. The Father had guessed
that they were young teenagers who didn't know what they were
doing and didn't want to be straddled with the responsibilities
of a child. That had hurt him deeply, knowing that his parents
just wanted a few monents of pleasure, but not him. After that
Duo had never thought he would ever fall in love, until he had
met Him.
Heero Yuy, the Perfect Soldier, the one who had no
feelings at all. Heero had black hair with beautiful cobalt blue
eyes (or so the love-struck Duo thought). He's always so cold to everyone.
Several times in the past Duo had tried to advance in their relationship,
"he'd usually get ignored, glared at, or a gun shoved up his nose. (He most
often
got the gun.) They'd known each other for nearly two years, and he still
hadn't gotten any sign or expression from Heero. (As if he had any
expressions in the first place.)
Duo sighed. Heero would probably go for Releena Peacecraft
anyway. Heero might not be gay anyway. He sighed again.
"Oi, Duo. Snap out of it. We've got a mission."
He sighed again. It's time for some more mass destruction.
