Okay, after thinking this over and watching Slayers: Explosion Array
and Slayers:
Dragon Slave from a borrowed video, I couldn't leave this alone. For
those of you who
have not seen Explosion Array, I highly recommend it. That movie made me
ROTFL
and the following fic is about that movie. The cross-over part will only
be understood
by those who read one of my previous fics, so don't worry if you get
lost. ^_^

Slayers: Double!
By Murasakikaze
Episode 1: Meetings are Chances
The young chimera stared at the two girls in front of her. One was
very familiar to
her, but the other was...well...not. However, to say that this
particular girl was familiar
to her was a total lie too because she certainly didn't act like the girl
the chimera had
known before.
"So....you are who you say you are, aren't you?" Naria Eienjo
Graywords stared at
the two women sitting across from her. She had picked them up on the
side of the
road after running off some bandit trying to take their money.
The younger of the two nodded, then paused, then nodded again. Her
voice was
irresitibly cute, while holding such a high pitch to it, it was grating
on Naria's nerves
even with her compassion for the outcasts.
"Hai, Miss Naria...I'm...I'm Lina Inverse's twin of sorts, but
please don't get upset!
I'm sure that if you ask her about us then she'll understand too!" the
girl cried, tears
streaming down her face.
"Okay...Lina...I'm not upset and I was just surprised that's all..."
the chimera
shifted her gaze to the other woman and smiled, only to see her cringe.
"And who are
you?"
"M-my name is Naga..." the meek woman replied as she pulled her
black cloak
closer to herself. "P-please...don't look at me..."
Naria sighed and returned her gaze to the other "Lina." Her normally
red eyes were
not a curious black color and huge white stars were shining within them
while tears
spouted out the corners of her eyes. Her dress was different from the
Lina that Naria
knew, but it still "looked" like Lina.
"You have anywhere to stay?"
"Lina" shook her head and the tears started to pour out again.
"We've been
wandering for nearly seven years!"
Naga nodded and stared down into her cup of coffee.
"Well...I guess if you want you can travel with me," Naria offered
and immediately
regretted it when Lina jumped across the table and grabbed her hands.
"Do-Do you really mean that?"
"I guess so...as long as you aren't going to cause any trouble for
me, I don't see
why you can't come with me." Naria relieved the girl from her precarious
perch upon
the table and heaved another sigh as Naga started to stare at her. "What
is it?"
"I'm sorry!" the sorceress cried and hid her eyes.
"No. What is it that you want?" Naria reached across the table and
tapped the
elder girl on the shoulder.
"I-I don't mean to be rude...but...but...why are you blue?" Naga
asked in an overly
sweet voice. A loud bang was heard across the restaurant and the
bartender looked
up in time to see a young chimera pick herself up off the ground.
"I'm a chimera, ain't you ever seen one before?" she growled as she
resumed her
place at the table.
"I-I'm sorry!" Again the older girl hid her eyes and cowered back
from the chimera.
Naria sighed and really wished she had let the bandits take them.
"It's okay...but-"
The slamming of the door cut her off and Naria's hand immediately
flew to her
mask, pulling it up over her face. What she saw next made her eyes
practically fall
out of her head. A tall, scantily clad woman charged into the room and
took a seat by
the bar. She was then followed by ten other women exactly the same as
the first.
Naria glanced back at Naga, then at the eleven women who had just come in
before allowing the sweatdrop to roll off her head. What made it worse
was when they
started to laugh. Now, a normal bunch of girls laughing wouldn't have
scared all of the
townspeople out of the restaurant and by sheer horror and curiosity,
Naria didn't join in
their marathon race away from the tavern.
"Uh...excuse me..." Very slowly, Naria stood and went over to the
group, waiting
for them to stop the high pitched cackling long enough for her to speak.
"What is it that you require from the Great White Serpent, Naga?"
one girl said and
stepped down from the bar. The ten clones turned to face the newcomer,
each
holding a beer mug.
"Well...Naga...I seem to have someone over there who might belong to
your set
of..." Naria looked over the woman's shoulder before continuing.
"...friends..."
"Whaaaaat?" Naga followed Naria's pointing finger and turned as
white as her
namesake. "YOU!"
"I-I'm sorry...Miss Naga..." the clone said as she stood.
Naria stared at them both as the Naga she had been traveling with
began to
nervously twist the ends of her cape. "Wait, you're all clones?!"
The "real" Naga began to laugh again and Naria cringed slightly,
amazingly able to
stand up to the G-force of this woman's laughter. (Must've been all the
training, the
authoress noted.) After the long trail of laughter subsided from both
Naga and her ten
clones, the meeker version stepped up and took her place beside Naria.
"Oh, you poor, little chimera! You should have seen that coming!
I, the Great
White Serpent Naga and Archrival of Lina Inverse, am a very unique and
beautiful
person and have been followed by my ten clones because they aspire to
reach my
perfection!" Another huge bout of laughter ensued and Naga was halfway
through
before Naria reached up and clamped a hand down over her mouth.
"First off, Naga. Don't call me little and don't call me chimera. I
have a name that
you should use. I'm Naria Eienjo Graywords and I was wondering what you
were
going to do with all your clones?" She eyed the group behind Naga and
smiled at
them.
"Like I said, they are following me around to become more like me!"
Of course
through Naria's hand it sounded more like: "Mrphmh muhrph mumphry mphur
mmuhphr!"
The girl removed her hand and turned back to the two clones she had
been traveling
with. "So you two are clones too, eh?"
After waiting for the nod she knew was coming she sighed again and
glanced over
her shoulder at Naga. "You take care of your clones, I'll take care of
mine. I'm taking
this Lina back to the Lina I know and we can sort everything out later."
"YOU know Lina Inverse?!" Naga grabbed the slightly shorter girl by
her collar and
hoisted her up off the floor. Naria didn't seem to mind and nodded
slowly.
"Unfortunately, she doesn't know, er, remember me." Naria pried
herself from the
steel grip of the elder woman and dropped to the floor.
"Really? So what's my ex-junior business partner up to?" There was
a hint of
jealously and compassion hidden in that smug voice and Naria picked up on
that.
As she replied, she smiled and looked up at the older girl. "Well,
she's doing fine
and right now she's in the town about three miles from here if she's
still traveling with a
certain someone."
Naga smiled as she reminisced and turned to charge out the door
again. "Come!
We're going to pay a visit to my dear ex-partner!"
Naga didn't get far before a heavy hand fell on her shoulder, forcing
her backwards.
The less than moderate sorceress turned to face the young chimera and
raised an
ebony eyebrow.
"You're heading in the wrong direction and I propose to make a deal
with you. I'll
lead you to Lina while also taking her clone back. Then you'll have a
guide FOR
FREE and I'll still keep my sanity by not having to be alone
with...her..." Naria
shuddered slightly and looked over her shoulder at the surgary sweet Lina
Inverse.
Naga turned and smiled. "Free did you say? Chimera, you have
yourself a deal!"
Naria smiled ever so slightly as Naga grabbed her hand and they
sealed the pact
with a hearty handshake.
