there's still one major flaw--
Skill.
Face it-- Ranma's skill is downright paranormal. He-- or in this fic, she--
may not be a slayer, but she can damn well shame any slayer that ever lived.
no WAY is Akane going to suddenly match that skill. Or catch up quickly--
Ranma is unique in his/her ability to see it once and find out how to beat it
or copy it. (I note the infamous Hiryuu Shoten Haa arc, where Ranma pulled
the move off perfectly-- without being taught the final move!)
Perhaps this--
"Oh, she's just annoyed that there's something I can do that she can't."
Ranma growled. "I'll find a way to do that slayer sensing thing, and those
wards, and tha... see if I don't."
Akane shrugged. Knowing Ranma, she probably would.
Just a IMHO here...
If that alternative was taken, I'd suggest:
"Oh, she's just annoyed that I'm stronger than she is, now." After all,
Akane was probably stronger than pre-Slayer Buffy, so it's not unreasonable
that after the boost she'd be able to beat anyone short of Ryoga in an arm-wrestling
competition. There was incidentally, little indication that Ranma was significantly
less capable than Akane in practise, so it's possible that Ranma can't beat Akane
because he can't beat an equal in speed and strength while holding back, or that Akane
was just being boastful.
