I've had this idea for a while, and I got bored working on The Other Side, so I figured I'd start this one. And where better to start than in the middle?!? ^_^
Anyway...
Think about the term "Role-playing." In essence, it means you are acting out the probable actions of a person/creature in a given situation. Basically, you become that thing and decide what it will do. Many otaku who participate in Ranma RPGs do so not only because it's fun but because, consciously or unconsciously, they want to BE that character. If you're a drooling, raving, and psychotic Ranma fanatic (LIKE ME! ^_^), then you will most likely do ANYTHING to live in the Ranma-verse and BE a character from it. All that said, you can most likely guess what this fanfic will be about. Please remember that this is NOT a traditional fanfic, as it involves both the real world with real people (many of the real characters in here are based off of people I know) and the Ranma-verse and its characters. It also has a small amount of violence, but I doubt it's anything worse than something you would see in Evangelion, or the nightly news. ^_^ Any C&C is accepted (actually, it's requested), and any ideas are also welcome. Arigatou minna!
I hope you enjoy this as much I am writing it! ^_^

Seth's eyes tingled and twitched. He felt a light breeze blow over the top of him. There was a numb sensation in his leg and a blurry feeling in his head.
*Oi... I hurt...*
The first thing he realized after feeling those sensations was that he was alive. Groggy, tired, in pain, but alive. As his brain struggled to collect itself, he had the idea to open his eyes. A scene of semi-tall grass met his gaze, with a large tree in the background.
He blinked.
*Wha...? This can't be right! I'm not dead, and I'm not in a hospital either. And how the hell did I end up out here?*
His collective memory had finally arranged itself in some semblence of order, and Seth tried to recall what had just happened.
1. He had arrived at Otakon.
2. He was looking at some Ranma doujin when there was an explosion.
3. Gunfire broke out and he tried running.
4. A sharp and piercing pain, straight up his leg and up his body.
5. Falling till he hit the ground, screams, people running by, then...
6. ... darkness... and...
7. ... ... a... trickle of light? Warmth? ...
He clenched his eyes shut. The last parts were hard to remember. They were glossed over in a... warm feeling of not-knowing without the edge of worry about the lack of information. It was so weird.
He decided it was time to give his motor skills a test run. Opening his eyes again, he turned slowly and sat up. His view came above the grass, giving him a new perspective. He was on a hill, a medium-sized tree directly in front of him.
*So... where am I?*
In spite of it all, he couldn't help but notice how much he sounded like Ryoga, the eternal lost boy. That thought helped ease the growing panic he felt inside of him.
Suddenly, he blinked, a new realization hitting him.
He put his arm in front of his face to reval a orangish-yellow fabric. He looked down to see black pants and kung fu shoes with yellow lace-ups. His heart racing, he felt his forehead and hair to find a headband and a larger frontal mane of hair.
*N- no way!*
He stood quickly, surprised it didn't really pain him physically to move. Sure enough, he was wearing the common outfit of his hero, Ryoga Hibiki.
The panic inside of him was rising faster now, followed immediately by overwhelming curiosity.
*I wake up on some grassy hill wearing Ryoga's clothes after being shot by a semi-automatic weapon at an anime convention. Yeah, this is normal.*
He tried calming himself, and decided on searching his environs. He headed straight for the tree, passed it, and went down the hill.
What he saw next was enough to blow the remaining fuses that were holding his mind together. He gasped and felt his heart jump a little.
Directly in front of him was Furinkan High School, it's bell tolling eight AM. Students, clad in the uniforms of the school, milled around in its courtyard. Seth was frozen, his jaw locked down in a mixture of amazement, curiosity, and worry.
*Either I'm in heaven or in hell. I'm not sure which.*
