Chapter 1: Out of Bullets

Okay...
Authors Comments: Everyone keeps complaining how all the Tenchi
crossovers deal
either with Sailor Moon or Ranma, so here you go, a Gunsmith Cats
crossover.
This is true, it may be interesting to see how two Earth bounty hunters
fair against someone the best bounty hunter in the universe and the GP had
difficulty catching. I don't see how they could live through it though.
Some
may argue that Ayeka is out of character here, but given her behavior in
some of the
drama CDs, and her eagerness to assist Kiyone capture Ryoko in No Need
For Partners,
I really dont think so.
Well let me defend Aeka's honor since I don't think anyone else will. What
happened in "No Need For Partners" was then, this is now. As for the drama
cd's, I don't know about them, but I would ask what timeline they are in
and when in that timeline do they take place. Because there is such a
thing as character growth (all the better anime have it). What a character
does at one point in their lives may be something unthinkable in a latter
point.
A lot happens between Aeka and Ryoko between the time of "No Need for
Partners" and "Tenchi Forever". For instance the coup on Jurai, their
saving Tenchi's mother, and their six months together searching for
Tenchi. Your story throws all of Aeka's character growth away and
personally I'm tired of Aeka plays the spurned b*tch stories.
That is not to say you shouldn't write your story, as it is your story.
Just watch the reasoning for your characterizations. I feel
characterization is an important part of any story, others don't. I guess
its up to you what path you take.
And those who argue about Kiyones friendship with Tenchi
being too deep in this fic, keep in mind she risked her career to save
him in Tenchi
Forever.
Risking your career to help a friend is one thing; risking a friend to
help your career is another.

Completely spent, Tenchi Masaki wearily closed his eyes and instantly went
to sleep. Looking down on his peaceful face, Tsunami, patron Goddess of
Jurai, smiled warmly. She knew that tonight had been his first time trying
something like that. hers too. It had taken a lot out of both of them.
Sitting down on the side of his bed, she gently took his face into her
hands as she leaned down to him. Touching her forehead to his, both their
emblems of power began to glow with resonant energy.
"Thank you," she mouthed quietly, still in the embrace.
With all the subtlety of a ghost, she made her way to the door of Tenchi's
room. Pausing at the entrance, she turned a satisfied gaze back on the
sleeping teenager. Everything was going so well.
She couldn't wait to see the shock on everyone's faces when they found
out.
