Noted. B4 anything else, thanks for your detailed C&C (also those from
b4). They're a big help!

He'd spoken to her only once, the day after the aborted wedding. He'd
let her know just how much he thought of her attempts to blow up his
wedding. Needless to say, Ukyou had been hurt and ashamed, and had
stayed away from him for a few days, in fear of evoking his fiery
temper
again.

Your call on this one, but I have a hard time believing this kind of
reaction from Ranma. None of the other stuff Ukyo's pulled on him ever
got him seriously mad at her or made him tell her off. Same goes for
Shamps, or Kodachi, or pretty much everyone else. Ranma's just not the
grudge-holding type.

Perhaps I *should* clarify that bit. What I was thinking was Ranma blew
up at her the first day they met again after the aborted wedding. After
that Ukyou stayed away, but Ranma not necessarily still holds the
grudge. I don't think that would be OOC of Ranma, do you? He *is*
known to lose his temper plenty of times, although he isn't one to hold
a grudge for long.

"What about me?" she cried tearfully.

C'mon, she's not THAT self-centered and insensitive that she'd cry for
attention while Ranma was trying to save someone's life. While I
applaud
the fact that you're not writing her as "Saint Ukyo," I think you're
going too far in the opposite direction.

It's not about Ukyou being so insensitive that she doesn't want Ranma
going to save Akane's life, it includes all the other times when Ranma
goes after Akane first before Ukyou. Now I still have to look for manga
proof of this one, but even if there is no proof, I think it's safe to
assume that Ranma would choose to go after Akane first before Ukyou if
it comes down to that. Maybe because he thinks Ukyou can take care of
herself more than Akane (she's a clumsy slowpoke, right? ^_^), maybe
it's *really* because he cares more for Akane, or whatever.

Ukyou's outburst during this scene is not only caused by the present
crisis with Akane, but with living in Nerima for so long and constantly
watching Ranma repeatedly abandon her to chase after Akane. (Also have
to look for proof of that one....)

Although I can't see how I can fit such a long explanation into that
scene....

But Ukyou was different, he realized. He couldn't hurt her. She was
important to him, too. She was his best friend, and he didn't want to
give that up.

No she wasn't. That's fanfic cliche, for which there's absolutely no
support in the manga. Ranma treats Ukyo at best like a casual friend,
and at worst like a nuisance; she treats him like a prize to be won.

But somehow I think that Ukyou *is* his best friend, and that he *does*
think so, even if there's not much support in the manga. But thanks for
pointing it out, I'll see what I can do.

She's not a confidant. All of these heart-to-heart talks that she and
Ranma supposedly had are fanfic cliche with no support in the manga.

Really? Gee, I have to check my collection again....

*I wish to God you'll find someone else, Ucchan,* he thought sadly.

Suggest using a different expression. I think it's safe to say Ranma
isn't a Christian. :)

Uh-oh.... ^_^

Thanks again, and also to all those who sent me C&C on this fic!
