I give my sincerest apologies to those who've been
expecting the revised 'Ranma Gets Fed Up' and 'Meddler
On the Roof'. It's taking MUCH longer than I had
expected. Rest assured, it will be coming, and soon.
To tide you over for now, here's a revised repost of a
story I had written a while back. It's based on the
thought 'How come Ranma doesn't have a full version
for his chi blast.' It takes place after Akane has
told Ryouga she hated him.
A way in which the 'Chi Duel' could have gone
different...
I don't own Ranma 1/2, or it's characters. They are
the property of Rumiko Takahashi and anyone she's sold
rights to. I'm using these characters without
permission. That goes without saying, because
Takahashi-sama would never let me use her characters
like this.
THE ULTIMATE MOKO TAKABISHA
by Lucres Annuiteas
After a long workout, Ranma decided that he was
finished practicing his newly developed technique, the
Moko Takabisha. It wasn't like he was going to lose
anyway. The match was practically his already. The
duel would just be a way of showing the world, or at
least most of the school population and any passerby,
how skilled he was.
The match should have taken place three days ago, but
Ryouga was late. Being used to the belated battles,
Ranma took this as an opportunity to get more training
in.
But now was the time for a little relaxation before
he went back to the place of battle. Getting some
snacks from the kitchen and one of the newer
Dragonball Z mangas from his room, he trekked out to
the yard (in case someone saw Ryouga, he would be
ready to leave). Dropping a picnic/beach blanket to
the ground, he lay on his stomach and started on the
comic. He looked up and saw Akane walking in. She
seemed a little keyed up, probably worried that he
would hurt Ryouga too much. Or maybe it was something
else. Was she worried that Ranma would get hurt?
"Take it easy. It'll be over in no time."
"But--"
"Just relax, Akane. I can't lose."
Ranma wouldn't have paid any more attention to the
matter, but a cheesy poof--it could be a sign of
sorts, or something--fell out of the bag and pointed
towards the gates.
Deciding that it might be an omen, he took a peek.
Ryouga was in the distance, heading in the general
direction of their battlefield. This in itself wasn't
much; with his sense of direction, Ranma was surprised
he'd made it to _Nerima_ in this amount of time. But
there was something about the Lost Boy that was
noticeable, even from there. He looked horrible, like
he'd been through something worse than hell.
"Wonder what happened to him..."
"Who?"
"Eh? Oh, Ryouga." The confident martial artist wasn't
even aware he'd said that out loud. Heck, he didn't
even know Akane was still there.
"I think I might know."
"Huh? You know why he looks like someone stole his
childhood away from him?"
"Um...I think so... I kinda told him I hated him, but
I'm not sure-"
"Why'd you tell him something like that?!" Ranma was
still sure of his inevitable victory, but there was no
need for his opponent to have extra 'fire power'.
"Baka! It's not like I actually hate him, or even
wanted to say it. He asked me to do it!"
"He...asked you to do it?" Ryouga sure was going to
extremes for this battle. Maybe, with his
determination... He _was_ willing to give up all
happiness and any other form of joy...There might be a
slight chance that he might...No! However hard he
tried, Ryouga still had no chance of beating him in a
real fight.
"Yeah. After that, he sorta went crazy. Then, there
was this _huge_ chi blast he let out... I think it was
his perfected his move."
Perfected? Of course! Why couldn't Ranma have seen it
before? It was so simple. To complete the Shishi
Hokodan, you had to reach the lowest point of despair,
and being told a loved one hated you fit the bill.
He'd thought it involved something totally different
and more complicated.
Wait. If Ryouga has completed the technique, then it
has to be much more powerful than the Moko Takabisha
is. It was already devastating, and that was just half
the full version...
"Ranma?"
"Akane, just how big was the blast?"
"Maybe ten times one of his smaller ones, why?"
Damn. He couldn't believe Ryouga would use an
ignorant Akane to help push himself into the well of
sorrow needed to help him win the battle. There wasn't
even any available way for Ranma to perfect his chi
blast. Except...He gave a short pause to wonder why
he'd almost missed an obvious path to perfecting the
Moko Takabisha.
He took a quick look through the open gate. Good,
Ryouga was still visible. Ranma still had a good hour
before his adversary would make it to the vacant lot.
Turning to the puzzled girl waiting for an answer, he
formed words in his mind. They were words that would
have to convince her of his request. He would need her
help.
"Err, Akane. I think we should talk. There've been a
lot of things I've wanted to tell you..."

Ryouga looked at his surroundings. He realized that
he should have stopped to look around when he tripped
over a boulder. He fell to the ground, but he caught
himself with his right hand. He only got his pants
dirty. But, they were his favorite pants.
It was just another barbell added to the weight of
sorrow threatening to overcome him at any moment.
Akane's words were more than enough for the
forthcoming duel, though. He just hoped he would get
there before the will to kill himself and get it all
over with got _too_ appealing.
The words echoed over and over in his mind, but the
damage was done to his heart.
'I hate you.'
One of his only reasons for living was taken away
with a few careless words of a girl who was only
fulfilling out a strange request from her strange
friend.
'I hate you.' Why had he asked her to do such a
thing? Living with this much sorrow was worse than
anything Ranma could have done to him in the past.
'I hate you.' The dreadful repeating of those
horrible words would have driven him crazy...that is,
if cared about his sanity, or anything else for that
matter. The only thing that mattered to him was The
Fight.
Picking himself up, he continued on. He struggled to
keep tears from coming to his eyes; he was so
pathetic. Leaning on a pole, he tried to find the
will-if there was any left-to keep going on to the
place of the duel.
Making sure he stopped first this time, he looked
around again. People, students, looked back at him.
He'd made it.

Cologne hopped on her stick alongside the young
Tendou girl. She was told that Ryouga had perfected
the Shishi Hokodan. Resting on her wooden perch, she
watched what proceeded. She took one look at her
son-in-law and nearly fell off the staff. This was
going to be an interesting match.

Every eye was on Ranma as he went to meet the
latecomer. There was a blue aura around him, like a
wild flame, flickering here and there. It seemed like
the energy was almost tangible. The look on his face
was arrogance. His stance was one of pure confidence.
The gaze of the awe-filled watchers only continued to
feed that confidence.
Ranma stared at Ryouga. He looked even worse up
close. It probably wasn't right to compare them,
though. It was obvious who looked better, anyway.
Ryouga stared at Ranma. He probably looks better than
me. His pants are even clean. That aura around him is
impressive. It figures. He almost always makes better
entrances.
"Let's just skip the pleasantries. I want to get this
over with as quickly as possible. I wouldn't want my
victory to interfere with my favorite shows, which, by
the way, are coming on in 5 minutes."
"Let's go then, Ranma." Ryouga and his rival started
gathering their chi.
"Shishi Hokodan!"
"Moko Takabisha!" They released their blasts, and the
crowd was given a spectacular display of light and
energy.
"What the hell is that?" Ryouga yelled. He couldn't
get past the projectile countering his. Whatever Ranma
was shooting, it wasn't the Shishi Hokodan, but it was
just as powerful.
"Surprised, P-chan? You should be."
The bursts of chi dissipated, and the people watching
felt shocked, and a little bit cheated. A tie? What a
total rip off...
Cologne and Akane were as surprised as Ryouga about
this new form of chi.
Ranma took the time to introduce everyone to the
concept of his 'confidence chi,' claiming its power
more than enough for the 'depression chi' his opponent
commanded. Ryouga only became more depressed. It
figured that Ranma would come up with a way to counter
his technique.
But the gloomy martial artist wasn't going to let it
end like this. It was time to show the world how he
felt.
"Behold and Tremble, The Complete Shishi Hokodan!"
The column of power erupted into the sky several feet.
As it collected and began its downward descent, Ranma
smirked.
"Impressive. But it's not good enough. Now, _you_
Behold and Tremble. The Complete Moko Takabisha!" The
earth below Ryouga rumbled as Ranma focused his
energy. Ryouga was distracted from his concentration
as he felt the ground rumble below him; this hadn't
happened the last time he did this.
A huge amount of chi flew up where the Lost Boy was
standing, carrying him with it. The enormous
projectile transporting Ryouga met with the Shishi
Hokodan blast coming down.
The result was a terrifying explosion of energy. A
tattered Ryouga fell from the sky, his clothes
practically nonexistent.
Everyone, excepting Ranma, rushed towards him,
expecting the worst. When Ranma recovered from the
exhilaration of releasing such a huge amount of power,
he hurried over to make sure Ryouga was still alive,
trying not to look too excited.

An hour later, at the Tendou Dojo...
Ryouga awoke to a bunch of faces surrounding him.
Most of them were watchers of the match, who wanted
info on what went on with him. He ignored their
questions and searched for Ranma's face. Finding it,
he demanded to know what the hell happened.
"It was my perfected Moko Takabisha. I found out
about you mastering your technique before hand, so I
mastered mine. You lost. I won." The confidence was
still there.
Akane punched him while casually trying to smoothen
her ruffled hair. He could be so insensitive
sometimes...Most of the time.
After regaining his breath, Ranma was only too happy
to elucidate. "When Akane told me that you had her
tell you she hated you, I figured out how you would
perfect your move. Of course, I would have figured it
out anyway, but it was nice to know a little sooner."
"To complete the Shishi Hokodan, you had to reach the
lowest point of despair and negativity, right?" Ryouga
nodded, and gestured for Ranma to continue. "So, I
found that to perfect my chi blast, I would have to
reach the highest point of self-esteem and
confidence," Ranma finished, filled with joyful
arrogance at his genius thinking.
"But what could have made you so prideful and sure of
yourself?" He had to know. If it had taken Akane
hating him to push him over the edge, what could have
lifted his rival so high?
"You really wanna know?" Ranma didn't even pause
before he happily announced:
"Me and Akane had sex. I was GREAT!"
Author's Notes:
No, I will not explain what came over me. However, I
_will_ answer a different question.
Why would Akane so easily concede to such actions
with Ranma? He can be a pretty smooth talker. Throw in
the fact that he said 'I love you' and that they're
OOC and your question is answered. Was Ranma _really_
as good as he claims to be? This is just his overblown
ego talking. He just assumes that he's a sex god. Of
course, Akane had no complaints...
This was not meant to be taken seriously, so please
don't.
