Here's part 2 of Card Captor Moon. Hope you enjoy. C&C is always welcome.
The entire world was filled with hushed whispers and tears the day
Neo-Queen Serenity and her Senshi disappeared. Taken by an unknown enemy,
the group never had a chance to fight back. Some blamed the Outer Senshi;
others blamed the immaturity of the Inner Senshi. Years later, none of the
Senshi had appeared to herald the return of a peaceful time, a time where
nations got along and prejudice was a thing of the past. Now, things had
returned to how they were years ago, before Neo-Queen Serenity and her
Senshi.
"Senshi Pluto, your replacement has been born." A voice mocked from the
darkness. Sailor Pluto stood motionless, her fate long since told. After
the death of the Sailor Senshi, she would give up her place as the guardian
of time to a new being. Who or when was a mystery. The process was
beginning. Senshi Pluto felt her powers slowly weaken during 15 years. A
time that was overall short to one such as her, but a lifetime to the person
cursed to receive the title. As the child's 15th birthday began, Mei'ou
Setsuna, Sailor Pluto, quietly wept.
Card Captor Moon
Episode 2: Yuki and the Youma.
The alarm went off with its normal exact precision, causing Shaoran Yuki to
knock over most of the items on her bedside table. Staring at the bright
red digital alarm clock, her mind slowly gathered into what could be called
normal coherence by some. Yuki sat up and swung her feet to the floor,
sliding her feet into the cute bear paw slippers Tsukishiro Yukito had given
her years ago. She plodded to her closet and pulled out her school uniform,
an odd shaped key on a chain hanging from her pocket. Yuki picked it up and
studied it. It was a tiny featureless bird head with wings where ears would
be, if birds had ears, with the key on the other end. "Hm? I must have
picked it up during my walk home or something." She deduced. Shrugging it
off, she put the chain around her neck, the tiny key fitting perfectly into
her uniform folds.
Yuki's father stopped her as she past by the kitchen. "Come eat your
breakfast Yuki." She looked at him, then the table. Sighing, she sat down
at the table and ate a piece of toast. "Your aunt told me you were
daydreaming in school again. I asked you to pay attention in class for
once." Yuki just ignored her father's words, drinking down the last of her
juice. "Yeah, I know. I'll try harder." She said, cleaning her place up.
She wished she could repair her relationship with her father, but the cause
of it was too great.
On her way to school, Yukito stopped her. "Yuki-chan. How have you been?"
Yuki blushed. It had been a month or more since they'd really talked beyond
a quick hello or nod. "I've been ok Yukito-san. Normal day-to-day things,
you know." He nodded and walked with her to class, chatting the entire way
about old times. In her mind, Yuki longed for this kind of relationship
while they were together. Once they reached the school, Yuki headed to her
class, her mind buzzing a hundred miles a second. Tomoyo was already there,
smiling. "You walked with Tsukishiro-san,didn't you?" Yuki could only
grin.
Meanwhile, at the Twin Bells doll shop, a evil was forming inside. It had
waited so long to be able to strike. None of those Sailor Senshi to stop it
this time. It drew energy from the store owner and the occasional customers
coming in. The process was slow, but it would be unnnoticed. As class went
on, Kinomoto-sensei was trailing off about some trip to Hong Kong she'd
taken while she was a child. Yuki felt a small movement in her shirt, like
something was trying to free itself. She asked to be excused and ran to the
restroom. After checking to see if there was anyone in the stalls, she
looked down her shirt. The tiny locket was swinging of its own volition.
How strange, she thought. A second later, something occured to her.
"Serenity! Something's wrong!" she gasped. Every fiber in her being wanted
to transform and find out what was wrong, but she couldn't. Not during class,
certainly not during Kinomoto-sensei's class. Her dad would have puppies.
She sat down on the floor and tried to think of a way out. What seemed
like hours later, Tomoyo stepped into the restroom. "Yuki-chan, are you
ok?" Yuki nodded. "I need to leave. Can you cover for me?" Yuki prayed
her friend didn't ask too many questions about the reasons. "Of course
Yuki-chan. I'll tell Kinomoto-sensei that you were sick."
Yuki ran up and hugged Tomoyo before trotting to the entrance of the school
to avoid getting caught. Once outside, she felt the locket swinging towards
the shopping district. "Ok. Ok. I understand." She whispered. She
followed the locket's directions until it stopped swinging entirely. Is
this the place? she whispered to herself. {Shaoran Yuki. It is time for
your first attempt. Be ready for anything} Serenity said inside her mind.
The soothing voice gave Yuki the nerves she needed to start her quest.
"Well, here goes nothing. Clow power, make up!" The bird-key floated from
her hand and grew into a rod in front of her. Captor Moon reached for the
rod and felt the last piece of her mind become whole.
To the casual passerby, there was only a flash of light before the new
warrior of love and justice, Captor Moon, stepped out of the alley. People
noticed the new Sailor suited warrior, but they were used to those running
about. Captor Moon entered Twin Bells, the light giving her a glow. "Stop
right there Youma! I am the lovely warrior of justice and love, Captor
Moon! And in the name of Serenity, I'll punish you!" Her hands moved into
poses. Oh man, what am I saying? she thought as she posed. Surprisingly,
the Youma leaped out of one of the stuffed animals and growled. Captor Moon
giggled at the sight of it.
The pink puffy youma was not fear inducing, nor was it even remotely
frightening. Captor Moon stepped closer to it, intent on capturing it
quickly. The pink bunny youma jumped away, roaring, as best it could.
Captor Moon ran after it, out of the store and into the street. Cars
slammed on their brakes for her as she ran in front, waving her Capture Rod
at it. "Come back here you little thing! Let me capture you!" She screamed
after it. It continued hopping until it reached the park where it decided
to make a stand.
Captor Moon tried to catch her breath, not used to running this far. The
pink bunny youma growled louder, growing in size to well over Captor Moon's
height. "Return to thy true form, this Captor Moon commands, Clow Card!"
The pink bunny was caught in mid-attack and formed into pink ribbons,
flowing into a blank card that had appeared in front of the Capture Rod. A
second later, the card was complete and floated into Captor Moon's hand.
Hmm, she thought. "Jump? What kind of youma is this?" Looking around to
check that no one was around, she transformed back to Yuki. The card
disappeared along with her costume. {You did well Shaoran Yuki. Those are
Clow Cards. Their creator, Clow Leed, is the man who trapped me many years
ago.} Yuki grew quiet, her mind spinning with the information. I'm working
for the enemy? she thought. {No. For every card you capture, you gain
more power. One of his cards may have the ability to release me.}
Yuki nodded. "I'll do my best Serenity-sama. I won't stop until you're
free." She could feel Serenity's smile warm her heart, even from within the
crystal. Yuki headed back towards her house, humming. A shadow stepped in
her path. "So,you are the one. I had hoped that minor Card would send
Captor Moon into action. How could Serenity-sama choose such a weak girl?"
Yuki shot a glance around the area. No one around she thought. "She chose
me because I..I don't know why she chose me. She must have her reasons."
You could almost see the smirk on the shadow's face. "Little one, you
cannot triumph against Clow Leed. Even with Serenity free and your powers
fully awakened." A girl about Yuki's age stepped from the shadow. Her
costume was the same as Captor Moon's except for the purple trim. The girl
gave Yuki a sarcastic smile as she pushed her black hair from her eyes.
"Welcome to the flock Captor Moon. You're no match for Captor Pluto." Yuki
gasped. "Clow Powe..ugh!" she called, Captor Pluto grabbing her throat at
the last second. "No no. No transformation for you little one." Captor
Pluto continued to steal the air from Yuki's lungs, her intentions quite
clear.
From out of nowhere, the blunt end of a large sword was brought down on
Captor Pluto's hand. Both girls looked towards the origin and saw a young
boy dressed in traditional chinese clothes. "Hands off Captor Pluto. This
girl is under my protection." Captor Pluto giggled. "Ah. If it isn't Li.
I was told you would show up to protect Captor Moon." Li raised his curved
blade to Captor Pluto's chest. "Leave her be Pluto. Now go." Pluto
smirked and stepped into the shadows again, leaving Yuki and Li alone. "I'm
sorry Captor Moon. She's never acted like this." Yuki blinked as her mind
caught up. "How do you know I'm Captor Moon?" she questioned, not really
wanting to hear the answer she thought she'd hear. He's probably some
pervert stalking me, she thought. "I know Captor Moon's identity at all
times." She let out a sigh of relief. "Can I go now? Having Captor Pluto,
or whatever her name is, nearly choking me to death isn't something I'd call
pleasurable." Li nodded and leaped over a brick wall close by.
Yuki walked the rest of the way home, hoping that no one would stop her or
try to kill her. Reaching her house, she noticed Tomoyo sitting in front of
the door. "Tomoyo-chan! What are you doing here?" Tomoyo pushed the black
hair from her eyes and smiled. "I came to make sure you were ok.
Kinomoto-sensei believed every word I said by the way." Yuki nodded and
unlocked the door. The girls went inside and began talking.
Next episode: Yuki and the new Captor?!
Author's notes:
This episode came pretty fast for me as far as writing. I apologize for the
speed at which the story is going but there's still much more to be done,
much more to come. I got a lot of questions over how Yuki is a Shaoran and
her aunt is of the Kinomoto family. Answer is: This is an alternative
universe. There is no Kinomoto Sakura (at least not as card captor).
Everything else is to come.
Anyway, Ja ne.
