In the sprit of the season, I've been thinging of a way to give a
particualrly
well written horror story (which I've only _just_ gotten around to reading
in
it's entirty) a somewhat more satisfactory ending.
The name of that story, _The_ _Stone_ _Dogs_ (Book 3 of _The_ _Domination_)
by
S. M. Stirling. Does anyone who has read it question my assessment?
No. But Torrance -- the only stories about the Draka that I ever want to
read involve someone *killing* that planet.
*piku* Are you telling me that Serenity would permit the Domination of the
Draka to survive in any recognisable form? Given that the Draka's national
philosophy borders on clinical paranoia it is unlikely any Cold War scenario is
possible, and Usagi won't roll over for them under the surcumstances.
Now what would be called into question would be the reaction of the Alliance
for Democracy (God-Kings operating out of Japan could spark bad memories), the
exact manner of the Domination's dismantling (although the Archon von
Shrakenberg's dignified acceptance of Serenity's terms of capitulation is
somewhat less likely than Archona being destroyed by fire, ice, thunder, and
light), and the fate of individuals on both sides of the fence (I for one would
like to see Eric cut _some_ sort of break).

(Read "Kiss of the Enemy", and it almost made the nightmares come back.
Never again.)
