Konbanwa, minna-san. I guess the first chapter was really bad. Anyway, I
had someone pre-read this one first.
P.S. I had changed Duo's past to make it fit into the cross-over.

Chapter 2: Growing Up
Duo Maxwell's parents had always went back to the orphanage
to check on him whenever they could. Duo did not know about it
because they had always stayed hidden from sight. They were able
to witness their son's first words, his first step, his sucesses
and failures. Most importantly of all, they were there to see if
he was content with his life.
Duo at age 5:
"Nooo," screamed the child as he ran through the church with
Sister Helen on hot persuit.
"But Duo, your hair is too long. We must cut it to make it
stay out of your face. You do want us to see your kawaii little
face, ne?" Sister Helen asked, hopefully.
Little Duo gave it some thought and his face brightened up.
Sister Helen sighed as the youngling finally saw it her way.
"Noo," yelled the child, cheerfully.
She gave up, "Okay Duo, you win. But at least let me tie it up to keep
it out of your face, okay?"
"Hai," Duo cried happily, finally getting the persistant nun to let him
do what he wanted.
From the outside Duo's parents were watching through
the window.
"Hn," said the young man who dropped off Duo, "he's just
like you. Reguarding to hair, I mean."
"Hai, I guess he does have some of our traits."
Duo at age 7:
Duo had begun school at a Federalist school for the military
families. He was always picked on because he was an orphan and
therefore was an inferior, some one no better than a sewer rat.
His intellegence that had brought him to the top of his class
did not help the matters any bit. His parents were not a bit
worried, since he was taking care of himself himself.
"I see he has another of your traits. From what I remember,
you were also at the top of your class, were you not?"
"Actually, I was the top of my whole school. And besides,
I was alot more popular than our son. Hmmm, should we help him
out there?"
"No, he seems to be defending himself quite well for some
one who never took martial arts before."
They watched their son fight off a group of bullies. You
had to admit, he was pretty good.
Duo at age 8:
The war was getting even worse then before. The church was
taking in the innocent victims of the war. One day one of Duo's
classmates had challenged him to steal one of the military gundams
at a local base. At the end of his theft, he returned to the church.
The church was almost totally destroyed. The people were all dead.
Except for Sister Helen, but she was close. Before she died she
told him who had done this to them, the Federals. And it was all
his fault, only if he had not stolen that gundam.
"Poor Duo. What will he do now. We had left him there to
keep him safe, and now see what happened."
"You worry too much. He's a strong boy. He could take
care of himself."
For the next few years Duo lived in the worst part of the
colony. He survived by stealing and living by his wits. His
parents were there to help him when ever it was needed.
"Hn. He is too much like you. So far we had only seen
your traits."
"Not necessarily. Remember that dare his classmates had
made to steal that gundam, then he had shown some of your traits.
Don't like to be called a chicken or not man enough to take the
challenge. Just like you. But then, you were so cute when you
were drunk."
"You don't have to rub that in my face."
They had continued to protect him, until he had met Dr.G
and joined the rebels againt the Federal government.
"Damn. Now how are we supposed to protect him now?"
"See? I told you he was just like you. Always running
head first into trouble."
"Will you shut up already. Just how are we going to protect
him if he's going to get himself involved in the war?"
"Well, I guess we could help him on some of his missions but
I can give no guarantees."
