Magic Knight Pokemon: The road up ahead; becoming a trainer.----------
The morning sun lighted the small valley where Ash, Brock, Misty
and Hikaru, along with Mokona and Pikachu had camped.
The first one up was Hikaru, she went outside and took a deep
breath.
Pikachu came outside a few moments later and greeted her. "Pika!"
"Hikaru smiled down at the Pokemon and smiled. "Good morning
Pikachu!" She bent down and picked him up. "Well, we'd better
check my patient, don't you think?"
"Chu!!" the small creature agreed. "Pi, chu?"
"Oh, no, Mokona won't wake up for a while. Trust me."
"Pika." Pikachu shrugged.
They walked into the cave.
Pikachu was surprised, the cave was still warm, and the walls
felt like they had spent the whole day in the sun.
They finally made it to where the charmeleon was sleeping.
His color had returned to normal, and his tail's fire had grown
considerably. Hikaru put Pikachu down. But Pikachu quickly
jumped on her head. "Pikaa!!"
She smiled, "Sorry, Pikachu, I forgot it was so hot..."
She softly petted the Charmeleon's head, opening it's eyes, the
charmeleon regarded her for a moment. "How are you, charmeleon?"
she slowly ran her hand along it's back. "Do you feel better now?"
The charmeleon sat down and nodded to her. There was a strange
glint in it's eye. "Char-char?"
"Oh, it's okay really, anyone would've done that." Both, Pikachu
and charmeleon seemed a little doubtful at that, but quickly
shrugged it off.
"I just came to see how you were doing, charmeleon. I'll cast
another spell, so you can be at 100%. Okay?"
Hikaru started glowing again, but her clothes remained unchanged.
The spell was less drastic and only enveloped charmeleon, who
looked at her in gratitude as it lay down again to rest. The
temperature had risen considerably, and Hikaru noticed Pikachu was
getting uncomfortable in it. So, with another soft pat to
charmeleon's head, both left.
Ash and the others were packing up camp when they returned.
"How's charmeleon?" Ash asked as Brock stopped working to look at
her.
"He's better. I gave him a little more heat, so he'll be at 100%
in an hour or so." She looked at the cave, smiling. "He's a nice
guy, I hope he'll be fine."
"I'm sure he will." Brock stated.
"Thanks, Brock!" Hikaru smiled as she started helping the others
pack.
Mokona started playing with Pikachu while they worked. After they
had packed things up, they had a quick breakfast, while they thought
where to go next.
"I think we should tell Professor Oak about your problem, maybe he'll
be able to help." Ash commented between bites.
"Sure, but, how do we contact him?"
"We'll have to go to a Pokemon center and call from there." Misty
supplied.
"The closest town is a placed called 'Hop Hop Hop'"
"Hop Hop Hop? What kind of a name is that?" Hikaru asked.
The others just shrugged, to them it was perfectly normal.
Finally, they were prepared to go. Hikaru was about to go back into
the cave to say goodbye to Charmeleon, when... "Char!"
All turned around to find the charmeleon standing outside the cave.
"Char! Charmeleon!" Hikaru walked up to him. "Hey, you're okay now,
right?" Charmeleon nodded and walked next to her.
"I think he want's you to be his trainer, Hikaru." Ash said as he
walked towards the charmeleon. Charmeleon nodded.
For a moment, Hikaru didn't know what to say. "But... I'm not a
trainer!"
"Don't worry Hikaru, it's very rare that a wild Pokemon approaches
you with a request like that. You have a good heart, and I'm sure you
could be one heck of a trainer if you want! We'll help you anyway."
Misty said.
Hikaru looked at charmeleon before kneeling to look at him in the eye.
"Are you sure about this charmeleon?" she asked.
"Char!" he answered as he walked a little closer. "Char-meleon?"
Hikaru smiled. "Ofcourse I want to be your trainer! I only wanted you
to be sure." Charmeleon went forward and hugged Hikaru, and she hugged
him back.
"Kawai!" Misty said smiling.
Ash pocketed out a pokeball and gave it to Hikaru. She looked at it
blankly.
"Well, since you're going to be a Pokemon trainer, you'll need
pokeballs, I'll give you one of mine, but we'll have to stop in the
next poke-mart to buy some more for you."
"And what do I do with these?" Hikaru asked. After explaining the
function of pokeballs to Hikaru, she softly pressed the ball to
charmeleon's head. Immediately charmeleon was surrounded by a red light
and brought inside the pokeball, which sealed without a problem.
"You know, back home, it was my dream to train dogs for blind people."
She held up the pokeball infront of her. "I think training Pokemon might help
me become a better trainer than expected."
Brock nodded, still with his blush. "That's the spirit! Let's go!"
"It seems the girl has become a Pokemon trainer, James." Jesse purred.
"Yes, if she wasn't with those idiots, we could try and talk some
sense into her and make her join Team Rocket!" He answered, looking
at her legs.
"Then the boss will be so happy with us that he'll probably promote
us!"
Jesse exclaimed happily bypassing James line of sight.
"And what if she decides not to join?" Meowth asked.
"Then we'll just steal her Pokemon and get away!!"
"It's a great plan!" James said holding Jesse's hands.
"There's no way we can lose!" she answered.
Hikaru looked around the large city as they walked towards the Pokemon
center.
She realized that, with the exception of a few minor details, this
world was much like her own.
Brock led them to the nearest pokemart. Inside, Hikaru bought some
pokeballs, and healing potions, as did Brock.
Afterwards they were just walking around when Ash suddenly had an
idea.
"Hey, we should go to the Pokemon Center and call Dr. Oak! Hikaru must
register as an official Pokemon trainer."
Brock nodded. "Good idea, Ash."
"Well... it might take some hours, I'm not sure, since Hikaru is not
from around here... we'll have to make some paperwork... but without
any kind of 'official' papers..."
"Isn't there a way, Prof. Oaks?" Ash asked the old scientist.
"I'll think of something, Ash, but your friend will have to wait at
Pokemon center until I get something... I'll call her from here, okay?"
Ash nodded, and went to talk to the others, Hikaru agreed to wait in
the Pokecenter.
"Mokona, why don't you go around with Ash and the others? I'll stay
here."
"Puuuu!" Mokona said as she jumped happily.
Mokona went with Ash and Co. into the city, where shortly after they
had left they met an anguished mother that mistook Ash for her son.
Hikaru had waited a few minutes when nurse Joy called her. She was led
into a computer room, where an old man was visible in the monitors,
however she couldn't see his face, as he had his back to her and was
looking into a monitor.
"So, you must be Hikaru!"
"Yes, who are you? Why aren't you looking directly at me?" the old man
tensed slightly and a huge sweat drop appeared next to his head as he
slowly turned around.
"Oh, sorry. I hadn't realized that I was looking at the wrong monitor!"
He laughed a little before turning serious again. "In any case, I'm
Professor Oaks, you might have heard of me."
"Oh, you're Ash's friend, he told me you might be able to help me
become an official trainer."
Oaks nodded. "Indeed. The only problem is that you don't have ANY
papers here, so I have come with an elegant, simple solution."
Hikaru looked at Professor Oaks, and somehow doubted the 'elegant'
part. Meanwhile, Oaks had motioned for an unknown lady to join him
in the monitor. "Hikaru, I want you to meet Ash's mother..."
After a couple of hours Hikaru came out of the computer room. She
looked around and was surprised to find Ash and Brock waiting
worriedly outside the emergency room.
"Hey, Ash, Brock... what's up?"
Ash looked up at her. "Pikachu and the other Pokemon won't wake up!"
"What happened to Mokona?"
"Puu!Pupupupu!" Mokona answered as she came from behind Brock.
"Mokona's scared that she might fall asleep." Brock explained.
"Isn't there anything we can do?" Hikaru asked, looking at the closed
doors.
"We are waiting for Officer Jenny to help us out." Ash answered.
Finally officer Jenny came back with her wave detector, Hikaru and Co.
followed her to a mansion at the top of a building.
"I never thought I would see a mansion on the top of a building! It
must be worth a fortune!" Brock noted, looking around.
"Let's go inside and see what's causing those Pokemon to fall asleep!"
Officer Jenny said as they all walk towards the doors.
Team Rocket waited patiently outside the mansion. "We have to get her
when the others are not around. It's our only chance!" Jessie muttered.
James nodded, then crouched behind a bush as Ash and Co. came out of
the building escorted by rich-looking people... and a Drowzee.
"Jessie! A Drowzee!"
Jessie pushed down James. "I've noticed! Stay down! Do you want us to
blow our cover?!"
James didn't answer since his face was buried in the ground.
Hikaru and the others led to the park. Since they had been running,
she had to stop and wait for Mokona while the others went ahead.
Finally, when Mokona caught up, they started walking in the general
direction the others went.
Suddenly, two figures jumped infront of her. Hikaru looked wearily at
the two strangers, as they struck poses.
"Prepare for trouble!" Jessie said.
"And make it double!" James added.
[Insert Rest Here]
When they noticed Meowth didn't say anything, they looked down at the
sleeping Pokemon.
"This is just great," James fumed. "Our chance at doing things right,
and he hasn't woke up yet!"
Hikaru looked at the two. "What do you want?"
Jessie smiled at her. "We are here to recruit you."
Hikaru blink-blinked. "..."
"We know you want to be a Pokemon trainer, but that you don't have
'official' papers." James explained.
"Being Team Rocket member, you will be exented of official duties. So,
want to join?"
"What is it you're supposed to do? As a member of Team Rocket?"
"We search for the strongest Pokemon, and capture them, so that one
day, we can rule the world!" Meowth said proudly.
Both Team Rocket members glared at Meowth. "I thought you were
sleeping..." James growled.
Hikaru looked at Meowth. "You can talk!"
"Indeed. I speak various languages. So, are you interested in joining?"
"Can I see the contract?"
Meowth nodded and produced said document seemingly out of no-where.
Giving it to Hikaru, he waited patiently as she read the contract.
"Hmmm... stealing... gives you the right to destroy private property...
by signing this contract you agree to... hmmm." Hikaru nodded slowly
as she read. "This is very interesting..."
James and Jessie smiled as Meowth nodded sagely. "So, I take that as a
yes, right?"
"No."
The three villains dropped to the floor. "WHAT!?!?" Meowth bellowed.
"This contract goes against everything I believe in, if you think I'm
going to join a group of lowly criminals, think again."
James sighed. "That's too bad. Then we'll have to take both your Pokemon.
Wheezing!" He said as he threw his Pokeball.
"Arbok!" Jessie shouted. The large cobra-like Pokemon appeared.
Hikaru looked at both Pokemon. Sighing deeply she extended her arm, her
open hand pointing at the two.
"Hikaru! Stop!"
They all turned around at the sound of Ash's voice. And saw him and the
others, followed by a group of kids walking towards them.
"What is it, little bro?" Hikaru asked.
Ash looked at her strangely. "This is a Pokemon battle. You have to fight
them with your Pokemon."
Hikaru nodded and threw her Pokeball, just like she'd seen the others do.
Charmeleon appeared infront of her.
The fight began, Wheezing used his smoke screen to blind Charmeleon. And
Arbok charged him, knocking Charmeleon back.
Charmeleon stood slowly and glared at them.
"Charmeleon! Flame-thrower!!!"
Charmeleon nodded, and opened it's mouth, as a HUGE flame surrounded the
whole Team Rocket. When he finished, the soot covered villains ran away
screaming. "Team Rocket has lost again!!"
Hikaru nodded proudly at Charmeleon, before patting him in the head, and
calling him back to his Pokeball.
She was approached by Ash, Misty, Brock, Officer Jenny and the kids.
"How long were you looking, Brock?" Hikaru asked.
"We heard everything. I'm happy that you decided not to join Team Rocket."
Ash answered for him, since Brock had turned red yet again.
"And why didn't you say anything, little bro?"
"We are your friends, Hikaru. And we worry about you, but you are the one
that will decide which road to choose." Misty said smiling. "We knew you
wouldn't join Team Rocket." as Ash looked at her strangely.
"Thanks for the confidence." Hikaru said sincerely. He pulled out the
contract.
"But I'm afraid I do have to put my signature in this contract."
Everyone looked at her aghast.
She held it up. It burst out in flames before the surprised eyes of Officer
Jenny, the bemused looks of Ash and Co., and the delight of the children.
"There. Signed."
As they walked back to the mansion, Officer Jenny stopped them.
"Hikaru, I heard you were a non-official trainer. I'm sorry, but, until
you're official, you'll have to give me your Pokemon."
"It's not fair!" Ash exclaimed.
"It's okay, little Bro." Hikaru said as she pulled something from her
bag.
"What's with this 'Little Bro' stuff?" He asked Hikaru, who was giving
something to Officer Jenny.
"A Dexter!" Brock exclaimed.
Misty, Ash, Pikachu and Mokona tried to get a closer look. It was a Dexter.
"Prof. Oaks told me this would identify me."
Officer Jenny nodded as Dexter's robotic voice spoke.
"I'm a Dexter registered to the Pokemon League by Prof. Oaks of Pallet
town. If stolen I can't be replaced. I'm the property of Hikaru Ketchum,
from Pallet Town."
Officer Jenny nodded and gave it back to Hikaru. While the others stared.
"Hikaru 'Ketchum'?!" Misty, Brock, Ash, Pikachu and Mokona asked in unison.
Hikaru nodded happily.
"But... how?!" Ash asked.
"Your... Our mother adopted me Little Bro. It was all Prof. Oaks idea."
Ash looked at his new sister and smiled. "Seems like everything's in
order now, isn't it... sis?"
Hikaru smiled back. "It is, little bro..."
"Don't call me 'little'." Ash complained as they continued their way.
End Chapter 2---
Well, that's it. Chapter 2 is done and ready. I hope you all knew
that Ashes last name was 'Ketchum', if you didn't, now you do.
If you remember correctly, at the beginning of Pokemon, Ash was
stopped by Officer Jenny because he needed to prove he was an official
Pokemon trainer.
Thinking that this was going to be a possible problem for Hikaru, I
decided to address it now.
The easiest way to do it was to get her adopted, in 'real life' it would
take months for it, but you must remember three things:
a) this isn't our reality.
b) it's my fanfic!
c) Prof. Oaks is a very important man in Pallet Town.
Anyway, I hope you liked it. C&C, death-threats, flames... please be kind
enough to send to:
wandererd@hotmail.com I hope to recieve C&C! Come on!! How will I ever
rule the wo- I mean... become a better writer without those!?
Anyway...
Thankx. See ya all later!
