These tracks don't converge until later on, but both are integral. Chapter
1R is difficult to understand without having seen the Matrix, 1M is
near-impossible.
Synopsis:
Nabiki is a specialized agent designed to prevent them from finding Ranma.
Ranma is meant to surpass Neo. All you need to know so far; Several scenes
are written in each fic before convergence.
Chapter One, Track M: "More than One"

"I assume you by now are quite sure that what I told you before, wasn't
exactly the literal truth."
"Yes, I figured that. As it turned out, I am the One."
"Well, are you ready to be hit with even more confusing news?"
At this, the man listening nodded slightly.
"Well, you're not the -only- One. There is another, whose powers are meant
to surpass your own. However, he will be difficult to get to, as he is being
kept under guard by a specialized agent."
"What kind of agent?"
"Well.. for one, this agent does not require another body. You would think
that would make it easier to kill, but it doesn't. It has managed to get
almost the entire town that it works in under blackmail, and there are some
martial artists there who are as close to your level as one can get without
being unplugged."
"Okay. Where is this supposed to be, and what is the new One's identity?"
"The Nerima-ku of Tokyo, and his name is Ranma Saotome."
With his objective in mind, Neo left the Oracle's apartment and began
heading for a phone to recall back to the Nebuchadnezzar. It would take a
bit of searching to get the exact physical location of the Matrix sector
that Ranma was in. There were several Matrices, set to slightly different
timelines and years; and a Tokyo in each one.

Chapter One, Track R. "Agent Nabiki"

"Neo may have found out from one of his sources about Ranma."
"Neo? Isn't that the guy who killed Smith?"
"Yes. You need to prevent him from entering the Tokyo matrix at all costs.
Your life, the Lives of anyone else in the area; we're even sending you a
squad of 16 agents. This is risky, and may not succeed. Your blackmail
scheme has worked, correct?"
"Right. I have nearly the entire town at my disposal."
"Good. On the very likely chance that Neo is not stopped by the defenses,
you must prevent Ranma from being unplugged. Kill him if you have to, just
see that he does not get out alive."
"Okay."
Nabiki put up the phone, realizing that Ranma had to be prevented from
leaving the system alive AT ALL COSTS. this particular matrix was built on
top of what was once Jusenkyo Valley in China, so the computer system never
quite worked right. For example, people could pull things out of thin air.
She hoped that the aura still surrounding the valley would set back Neo from
finding it. Otherwise, she had no delusions like Agent Jones did. If Neo got
in, there would be no stopping him. It might also be difficult to get rid of
Ranma in time.
