the problem is that it doesnt work. i need it to be something that -sounds-
like the greek "Odysseus" or ranma won't get it.

Perhaps you need to look for the Katakana of the Latin
version, Ulysses. There was a joint Japanese-French
anime titled "Ulysses 31". I don't know much about it
other than the title, but Anipike has links to 5 webpages
about it.
