Incidentally, an idea that came to me...
One plot hole in the movie is that the computers are supposedly keeping
everyone in the Matrix because they generate power. But, by ordinary
physics, this is impossible: you can't generate more energy than was in the
food that you fed the human to begin with.
But in the Ranmaverse, we have chi. What if chi is real, and people can
really generate it, and the computers are draining it from the people? It
already violates physics, so you may as well use it to explain the plot hole
away. Maybe Ranma generates 1000 times as much as everyone else, and every
time Ranma does a Mouko Takabisha in the Matrix, the only reason it doesn't
destroy his pod in the real world is that the machines are draining it off.
It could also mean that Ranma could still do some special attacks when taken
out of the matrix, although there's no reason to expect it to work in the
real world _exactly_ like in the Matrix.
