Yes.  It's in western China, on the border with Tibet.  There's no "u"
in the name, by the way.

Is there really a Bayankala mountain range?

Yes, in the south-east of Qinghai.  Romanisation of the name varies,
but "Bayankalashan" is pretty common.

Is there really an amazon village or musk dynasty there?
Is or has there ever been a Musk Dynasty?
Is there a real "Jusenkyo Valley," irrespective of presence or absence of
any curses?

Ohohoho.
