Ranma and the Matrix: Thinking along the lines of a crossover rather
than a fusion. An advanced AI in what was once Japan discovered a
method for cultivating and utilizing Chi in the human subjects, which
could have boosted their power output dramatically. Ranma and the rest
were part of an experiment, their real bodies were genetically modified
for enhanced production of Chi, and Jusenkyo, and the forms of Magic
were actually parts of the Matrix inserted to let the computers affect
the matrix reality directly. Starting with that setup, here are a few
elements to move the story:
1 Neo and co learn about this project to upgrade the energy generating
capacity of the human species, and they make the trip to Japan to
investigate.
2 When Jusenkyo was created, an agent got caught in one of the springs.
So when the poor victim fell in, Jusenkyo disrupted the usual agent
takeover, and led to a melding instead.
3 Ranma fighting an agent, or fighting Neo for that matter. Initially
Ranma wouldn't have a chance, but he's always had a real knack for
learning, and if he started getting the idea behind their ability to
fight, it might lead to him accidentally awakening himself from the
Matrix. With luck this would be within site of Neo who could trace him
back to his body so he could be picked up in time.
