Comments: One of the interesting things about this story (which is
part of a larger multi-crossover, is that since it puts the teen-age
Nobiyuki and Achika into the present day, that shoves the time travelling
Tenchi and company well into the 21st century. Of course the new
continuity has probably erased Tenchi's existence. Oops. Them's
the breaks when you're time travelling.
Yup. Sucks to be Tenchi. Plus, it seems that multiple Tenchi realities have
overlapped (thanks to Stardragon for the comments). When reality goes
Boink! it goes all out.

Comments: While I can easily imagine Mihoshi going along with this nonsense,
I sort of balk at Kiyone substituting for Arisa. Why would she have such an
emotional attachment to Mishima and her employer? Why did Kyusaku start to
call his son Ryu-san, or was it Ryu-sama?
Um, this is revealed later on, but I'll show a few of my cards now to
clarify things. Kiyone and Mihoshi have been working undercover on Earth
for quite some time now, and they arrived on the job shortly before the
marriage fell apart. Kiyone has been Akiko's confidant ever since Kiyone
caught her employer during a weak moment. Mihoshi was too dense to pick up
on the fallout, but is helping as best she can. (Uh-oh.)
The 'Ryu-san' bit is from the OAVs. In the OAVs, it's an attempt by Kyusaku
to be on buddy-buddy terms with his kid Ryunosuke. (You can have the rest
of the chicken, Ryunosuke -- I mean, Ryu-san!). In the fic, it's a feeble
(very feeble) attempt to mask Ryunosuke's identity. Fortunately, like the
Superman/Clark Kent bit, it works on almost everyone. (Everyone but...)

Comments: Misato (from Evangelion) makes a superb substitute for Akemi.
Soichiro's parents must be uncommonly understanding since it's their building
she's running after walking out on their son.
The reason she's managing Maison Otonashi is because (here I go tipping my
hand again) Soichiro's father took actions to prevent further deterioration
by separating the two and by giving Kyoko a chance to support herself
during the crisis (he likes her and recognizes the problem with his son).
Unfortunately the crisis took longer than everyone expected... This'll all
be explained later, I promise.

Comments: Fundamentally the central element of this crossover.
The characterisation scene between Ritsuko and her mother is downright
brilliant, but I'm tired of commenting on SOAP, so I'll move on.
Uh, thanks. I'm particularly proud of that bit, myself.
Um... take these #1's as they are: #1's. They're there to give the reader a
feel of the world, as well as a glimpse of what's coming later. The later
parts will explain things in more detail. For now, I know that not
everything is clear yet, but please bear with me. I'll get there sooner or
later.
