Yes. Some sort of experimental poison or some such. (Saw the first few
episodes.) Conan-kun is actually a high-school aged sleuth who gets the
treatment for getting too close on a case (treatment was supposed to kill
him, but that would have made for a rather short show.)
Konan also has some kind of super-soccer power, defeating
villains with his ability to kick things really hard.
Hyped-up shoes that the Professor (the one who is trying to help Conan-kun)
gives to our hero. Supposed to stimulate the leg muscles to allow him to run
faster and kick things harder.
