I'd tend to agree with this. Throughout the war the
men would have raided villages and so forth whenever
they got the urge. The last thing these Greek 'heroes'
were was Gentlemen.

Afraid not. First of all, there would have been
prostitutes working the camps
outside the walls of Troy. At that time every large
army had camp followers
for obvious reasons. And of course during a
sack...at that time...the odds
that most of the Mycenaens behaving like gentlemen
or even like human beings
is pretty low. Any women who were spared were
probably valuable hostages,
not the commoners.
