Hi. I have a private question for any Flame of Recca fans out there.
Or not really Recca fans, just people who know enough about the series
to answer my question. Then again, you don't have to know about Recca,
I believe it might be a general martial arts attack. Whatever! If you
know what I'm talking about, please e-mail me privately. I'd really
appreciate it.
I happened to watch a Flame of Recca episode just now. I think it's one
of the first ten episodes, since it just started airing maybe two weeks
ago. Some bad guys - a small kid, and a huge guy who had vines growing
out of his body - came to kidnap Recca's princess (Don't know her
name...sorry). Anyway, the huge guy used some powder in his ring to
"paralyze" Recca such that he couldn't move a muscle, so he just stood
there while the bad guys took his princess away. Then, in a last
attempt to rescue/protect the girl, he took a small dagger/blade from
his pocket, he struck his right arm with it, drawing blood, and suddenly
he's able to move again.
My question is, what is the nature of the attack? The huge guy used a
powder from a ring he wore on his finger. At the time Recca was holding
his right arm out, preparing to launch his fire attack, I assume.
Suddenly, he just couldn't move his body, including his right arm. He
could move a little, though. His hand and fingers twitched as he forced
it to move. And he used his left hand to reach into his left pocket to
grab the knife, then stuck it in his right arm. Was the concentration
of the paralysis in his right arm, so he struck that arm, or does that
part have any significance at all? Why was it that when he injured
himself he's able to move again and the paralysis is broken?
I just happened to watch this particular episode today, and I thought I
might be able to use that particular attack in a fanfic I'm writing. I
hope someone here knows what the heck I'm talking about here.
