Nine feet as a "medium size" for a Rattler is preposterous. You must
be thinking of the King Cobra, which does get very long.
This is just a guess, but I think he got his feet and his metres
confused. He probably meant 3 feet long, which would be medium size.

Well, this was very interesting, and not something you read about every
day. I didn't know this about rattlesnakes. Of course, I live on an
island where there are no snakes, so I'm not hurting :)
