you should notice the difference. If you bother to read this. Hope you
do and send C&C, a lot of the changes are based on reader input I got
today. But I will not remove the ....... thing when I change setting,
I's my personal thing. Well enjoy the fic! *_*

                         Chapter 1: Grim Reaper

The year is 2186. Mankind has developed true space travel, with the
ability to go just below the speed of light. Also with the newfound
ability to create air, water and gravity, they could now truly explore
space.
So the people of Earth colonized planet's and moons in the solar
system. Every planet except for Mercury that is, due to intense heat.
Then, came the usual political problems. There was a civil war from
2132-2136, where Earth Government fought a faction called the Outer
Republic. Finally, after about five years, the war ended with a
stalemate and a peace treaty. The Outer Republic controlled the planet's
of Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Jupiter, and Saturn. While Earth government
got a hold of Mars, Earth, Venus and Mercury.
In this year, 2186, the story begins..........
In the deepness of space there was a space station. It was a
spinning sphere, massive in size. Big enough to sustain over five
thousand people but only had about four thousand on it. The station
orbited the moon around Earth. Blue and white colors were spread across
the station, showing that it was most likely a Earth Government space
station. This was confirmed by the large yellow stars painted on the
station in a circular shape.
A ship head up toward's the station. It was painted a dark gold
yellow, with red stripes all over it. The ship was shaped like two
cylinders with one cylinder on top of it. On the front of this small
transport ship was a golden chalice on a black background, showing it
was a Republic ship. Holding it's position at six hundred kilometers, it
received a signal from the station.
"Republic ship Alexander. This is Galaxy 1. You have clearance to
dock."
Only second's after receiving the message the ships docking engine's
came on suddenly in blue jets of shifting fire. It moved slowly toward's
the space station but was interrupted by another ship.
Out of nowhere appeared a small ship about a third the size of the
Alexander, about the size of a fighter. It was shaped like a scythe
blade and painted all black. There was no insignia showing ownership but
there was a marking on it. Painted in crimson-red large words read,
"Death."
The ship opened fire in crimson beams of energy. The Alexander and
Galaxy 1 had no time to defend themselves from the enemy attack and were
destroyed in a symphony of dancing flames. Debris went flying all
around, striking the black ship all over, but leaving no noticeable
damage
After making sure nothing was left alive it vanished again leaving
only destruction in it's wake...........
A figure stood in front of a table. Pointing towards a display
screen that showed a freeze frame of the black ship. In his hand was a
small note pad which had a few sketches and diagrams that showed the
black ship.
The room was cube shaped, painted grey, and rather large. In the
middle was a rectangular, black, wood table, seating three people. Their
chairs pulled up to the tabled they eyed the screen with curiosity,
wondering what kind of ship could appear from nowhere.
One man, the one the left, was a tall muscular man with almost black
skin. He was wearing a black uniform which resembled a business suit
greatly. It had a blue circle on the top right hand corner of the shirt
showing he was the Ambassador from the Outer Republic. He had short
black hair and dark brown eyes which matched his clothes perfectly. The
man's name was Allen Morair.
The middle man was short, rather chubby and sweating a little. He
wore the same black uniform as the other man, except it had a red circle
in the top right corner of his shirt instead of a blue one. He had pale
skin and blue eyes with rather long blond hair. He was Phillip Andrew's,
president of the Outer Republic.
Last but not least, the person to the far right, me, was a short,
skinny, pale man. I had dark green eye's and light brown hair which was
very well kept. I wore my usual a blue uniform which resembled the Outer
Republic's uniform a lot. Unlike the Republic uniform my rank was shown
by the pip's on my collar. I had just a long gold bar showing I was the
legendary Andrew Laymore, President of Earth Government. Or at least
legendary in my opinion.
The man standing in front of the screen looked down at the people
sitting and frowned. "This was all that our long range satellite's
picked up earlier today. This mystery fighter, whatever it is, is a
danger to both Earth Government and the Outer Republic."
Phillip sighed as he looked over at the President of the Earth
Government. "And why should I believe that you are not behind this
mister president?"
I quickly shot up from my chair and slammed my fist on the table
with great force. "That's insane! You filthy bastard! You probably own
that damn ship out there!"
Phillip quickly retaliated. "My ship! That was probably your ship!
We lost the Alexander and the one hundred crew member's on board!"
"The Earth Government lost Galaxy 1! That had over four thousand
people on it! We lost way more then you did! The space station will take
over thirty billion credits to rebuild!"
Phillip sighed and crossed his arms, maybe this man was telling the
truth. Well knowing Andrew, not likely. Andrew was the kind of man who
wouldn't mind throwing away a few people to frame the Outer Republic for
ANY crime. But when it came to money, Andrew wouldn't let a credit go.
Quickly calming down he posed a question. "Well if that's not your ship,
and if it's not out ship. In theory, who's would it be?"
My eyes quickly shot to the floor to avoid Phillips icy gaze, the
one he used whenever he thought he was losing an argument. "A terrorist
groups new weapon perhaps. Or a political faction. There is a long list
of people who wouldn't mind declaring a war on both the Republic and
Earth Government."
"But the ability to make a ship invisible both the scanners and to
the eye, is beyond imaginable. How could we fight something like that?"
The Republic Ambassador looked down at what looked like a watch for
a second and then brought his head back up. "Ah, Mister President, there
are important matters of state to attend to."
I nodded and stood up. He bowed towards Andrew and then left,
followed by the Ambassador. Before he left he said, "Glad to be here.
Maybe we'll talk some other time soon. Good day, President
Laymore."...........
I walked into his finely decorated room and sighed. Another day of
political battles over and many more left to go. This job was REALLY
making me tired. All the report's, the decisions, the meetings. The
worst thing of all was Mr. Andrew's, the jackass of politics. Cocky,
stuck up, S.O.B.!
Trying hard to forget about Phillip I looked over at the white wall
of my room. On the walls were a variety of paintings. Each having a gold
frame, which was not all that big a thing considering gold was now easy
to find.
There was one picture, The Outer edge, as it's called. It was by far
the greatest painting I had in this collection. It was a picture of a
galaxy. A circular blue galaxy done with the most delicate colors.
Planet's, stars, everything was done to perfection. Created in 2103 it
was nbot well known, and not cared about. But within one year it became
the most sought after piece of art ever, and now it was in my
possession.
There were dozen's of pictures, but they were nothing compared to
the Outer Edge. It was to bad I didn't own anything much in this room.
Anything of any real material worth was owned by the Government itself
and was used to improve the looks of every president's room.
I walked a few meters from the door and it quickly shut behind me. I
locked it and moved over to the bed. It was done in fine oak over three
hundred years old. On it was carved a variety of different styles that
were done by a master woods crafter. The mattress and covers were the
finest material in the world and were coloured blue. They provided
little heat, but that was not need due to the temperature controls next
to the door.
Next to the bed was a wood desk with a white computer on it. The
thing was about a mater long and a meter tall. Connected to the computer
was a vast array of new and old technologies creating one of the best
computers money could buy. Next to the computer was a small panel, about
the size of my hand. It was made of a black plastic and was used to
receive communication transmissions.
On the other side of the room were vases, dozens of vases. Made of
different colours and material's they were amazing. Much like everything
else in the room. I really did care to much about these things. Some
people said I loved money and what came with money to much, and there
right. I'm a true politician!
I didn't have much time before his relaxation was interrupted by a
beeping sound. I looked over to see that the panel was beeping, showing
a signal was coming through. I hastily turned it on and wondered who
dared in interrupt me.
Quickly turning it on I saw the image of the Minister of Defense, a
Mister Eric Matthew's. "Sorry to disturb you President. But there is a
matter of great importance to discuss. It's about Mars colony."
"What is it Minister?" I asked in a little annoyed tone. It was not
good to interrupt the little leisure time I had.
"Well, ah, Sir. Mars colony, has, kinda. Well how can I put it. An
hour ago Mars colony declared, independence from Earth Government. All
ships created and run by Mars colonist have pulled back into space
around their planet. And all ships owned by the Earth Colonies have been
forced back into Earth space. But all Republic ships are still in Mars
colony's space. Very weird."
No that was insane, Mars colony declaring independence. What the
hell possessed them to do that? "Patch a transmission through to Jupiter
Prime. I would like a talk with The Republic president."
"Right away sir!" And then the mans image disappeared from the
screen. Leaving me waiting for the transmission.......
