A Twisted Fate
By: Dreiser
Prologue:
"Woops."
These are not the words one wishes to hear from someone
who is guarding over the billions of realities that exist in time and
space.
Then again, these words weren't said by that person.
They were said by their personal assistant, Vinnie.
As Vinnie watched the remains of his extra large cherry
Slurpee (tm) slide into one of the many reality vortexes he hoped it
wouldn't screw things up too much.
This was because he really didn't feel like looking for
another job. It was such a pain and this one had great vacation
hours when he could manage to get them.
Yes, the last thing Vinnie wanted was to look for another
job. But despite his worries on job employment he was confident
that everything would work out.
After all, how much can one little Slurpee change fate?
Unfortunately for Vinnie, he was wrong. One little Slurpee
can change fate by a drastic amount.
In fact, one little Slurpee can make a gigantic mess out of
things in the ways of time and space.
By any chance would you like to know how?
Then do read on. But remember, this was the work of a
Slurpee and nothing more.
So please, don't expect too much.
Chapter One:
Destiny Schmestiny
Sailor Moon was in trouble.
No matter what reality you go to this fact will never
change. Wherever Sailor Moon was, trouble would always
inevitably follow.
Yes, Sailor Moon was in trouble. And she was handling
the trouble in her usual way.
Well, since this was her first time as Sailor Moon and in
battling the Negaverse one can hardly say usual way. It would be
better to say the expected way.
Expected from those who know of Sailor Moon from other
realities and times, at least.
Knew her in the beginning of her career, that is. Because
the longer the girl named Usagi was Sailor Moon the more adept
she became in her role and job.
But anyway, right this minute Sailor Moon is involved in her
first battle and she's not doing very well.
In fact, one might say she was doing quite badly.
Or perhaps even awful.
Either way, she wasn't doing very well.
Usually at this point in the old movies, the dashing hero
would swoop in to rescue the helpless maiden.
It's too bad for old movie fans that in this story we have no
dashing heroes and we have no helpless maidens.
We do, however, have dashing heroines and semi-helpless
maidens in this story.
For those of you who are asking what's a semi-helpless
maiden, they're the girls who fake being in trouble to get some cute
guy/gal's attention. Yeah, you know the ones. They're pretty
charming, aren't they?
Anyway, it was right about now that the dashing heroine
burst onto the scene to save Sailor Moon. And so that's where
we'll start our story.
---
Sailor Moon was huddled in fear as she watched the gray
arm of the youma stretching out in a long grip as it was about to
attack her.
Then out of nowhere, she heard a low and magnetic voice
shout, "Mars Fire Soul!"
Her blue eyes widening on seeing the youma turn into a pile
of ashes, Sailor Moon looked up to where the voice had come
from then saw a svelte figure hidden in the shadows from the high
windowsill above.
"I've found you," the voice which was obviously female
said. "After all my searching, I've finally found you, Princess
Serenity."
"Princess?" said Sailor Moon and Luna together in
shocked tones.
The figure paused to leap down in front of them and when
they did, Sailor Moon was met with the vision of a tall and elegant
woman with dark green hair pulled back into a high ponytail
possessing solemn red eyes.
"Princess," the woman repeated as she knelt down in front
of Sailor Moon. "Don't you remember me?"
"Who are you?" asked Moon with dazed puzzlement as the
woman reached out towards her.
"I'm Sailor Mars," the woman replied. "One of your Senshi
and your..." She trailed off while blushing a dark red hue then
paused to cup Moon's cheek while she murmured, "Why can't you
remember me?"
On feeling the soft touch of the woman's hand on her
cheek, Sailor Moon's eyes went wide and a barrage of memories
flashed through her mind all at once. And when the moment
passed, she looked at Sailor Mars with a new understanding as
everything suddenly made sense to her.
"It's you," breathed Moon. "You're here."
"Serenity," said Mars with clear relief as she formed a small
smile that glowed with happiness. "I take it this means that you
remember about me? About us?"
"Of course," said Moon a bit impishly while accepting
Mars hands as the other Senshi pulled her to her feet. "I could
never forget about you. At least not for too long. It has been a few
centuries, you know."
Mars smiled again at this and was about to say more when
a loud cough interrupted her and she looked down to see Luna
giving them a stern look.
"Lady Mars," Luna said polite yet clearly annoyed tones.
"Don't you think that we should find a more secure place to hold
this conversation?"
Luna then nodded towards the victims of the youma attack
in the jewelry store which were slowly waking up and looking
around in confusion.
"You're right, Luna," said Mars slowly. She reached down
to take Moon's hand in her own and said, "Lets get out of here.
We have a lot to discuss."
Before Moon could reply, Mars lifted her up and into her
arms with a graceful ease then leapt up into the air and out of the
store with Luna trailing after them.
This first meeting would prove the start of a very interesting
night and an even more interesting future.
---
Things weren't going well for the Negaverse and in
particular, the ruler of the Negaverse, Queen Beryl.
Their very first plan had failed miserably but that wasn't her
only problem, Sailor Mars was awake and had succeeded in
reviving the memories of her lost Moon Princess.
And all this just happened to occur right in the middle of,
shall we say, one of Beryl's romantic interludes.
To put it rather simply, Jadeite's failure had interrupted
Beryl getting some nookie.
The last thing that anyone, who wants to remain healthy at
least, does is interrupt the Queen of the Negaverse when she's
getting some nookie.
"Nooo!" wailed Jadeite as he was dragged away by
several dark and predictably evil looking creatures. "I didn't mean
to fail you! Please don't make me watch your collection of Disney
tapes! Anything but that!"
"Silence yourself, Jadeite," said Beryl. "Obviously you are
lacking an appropriately fiendish nature and that's why you've failed
in your task. And watching forty-eight hours of Disney movies
nonstop will destroy any concept of goodness that you have left."
She formed a slow smile then said to one of the creatures that held
Jadeite, "Start him off with Mary Poppins."
"Noooo!! Not that!" wailed Jadeite and as he was engulfed
by darkness the sound of the dark servants softly singing 'chim
chimney charoo' was heard.
Now left alone, if you didn't count her hundreds of servants
that lurked in the shadows, Beryl leaned back in her throne and
chuckled.
"That was fun," remarked Beryl with humor. "I can't recall
the last time I tortured one of my minions so well."
"I think it was only ten minutes ago," a deep and charming
voice murmured in her ear. "Or have you already forgotten about
our romantic liaison, my Queen?"
"Certainly not," said Beryl in a sensuous purr. She turned to
regard the handsome features of her husband and said, "That
would be impossible, darling. Especially since we were having such
a very good time before being so rudely interrupted."
Stepping into the dim light of the throne room to their
palace, King Endymion of the Negaverse formed a slow smile as
he said smoothly, "So why don't we go back to what we were
doing, my lovely Queen?"
"Excellent plan," replied Beryl as she accepted Endymion's
hand and rose to her feet.
With another slow smile, Endymion pulled at the edge of
the black cape that was attached to his elaborate armor and lifting
it up, he swept it over them then in a dark cloud the couple
disappeared into nothingness.
There was a moment of silence before one of the hundreds
of Negaverse servants decided to speak.
"So," the first servant said. "Any bets on how long it will
take for Jadeite to snap under his current torture?"
"I put five thousand yen on Aladdin!"
"You fool! He'll surely snap under the torture that is the
Parent Trap! It has twice as much Haley Mills!"
"No way! It's going to be Snow White!"
"The Wizard of Oz!"
"Is that even Disney?"
"Who cares? It's disgustingly wholesome!"
"But it has drug references in it."
"Yeah, but so do most Disney movies."
"Good point."
This was just another typical day in the Negaverse for this
definitely atypical reality.
And it only gets worse from here on end.
---
"You mean to say you didn't know that Sailor Moon was
Princess Serenity?" asked Mars in surprise.
The three had ended up on the top of one of the higher
buildings in Tokyo to talk about what had happened and their plans
in general for fighting the Negaverse.
"Well, no," said Luna with obvious embarrassment. "Like
Usagi only a portion of my memories have returned. But it seems
that your presence has triggered her to recall even more of her
former life, Mars."
"Usagi?" asked Mars as she looked at Moon with an
expression of confusion.
"My name is different here," said Moon with a smile. "I'm
Tsukino Usagi. What about you?"
"Meiou Setsuna," replied Mars cautiously.
"Meiou Setsuna? Really?" asked Moon in clear excitement
as she clasped her hands together. "I've heard about you! You go
to Juuban High School and you're in charge of the fashion and
design club there. Wow! You're really popular! I can't believe that
you're a Senshi and my girlfr--"
"Usagi," said Luna in annoyed tones. "We don't have time
for this. Talk to... Setsuna about your personal lives later. Right
now we have Senshi business to take care of."
"Luna's right, Usagi," said Mars more gently as she wore a
soft and understanding smile. "And now that I've found you, we
have all the time in the world."
Moon merely sighed at this and had heart shaped
formations in her eyes which made Luna sweatdrop while Mars
continued to wear a warm smile on her features.
"So," said Luna as she looked at Mars. "How is it that you
retained your memories of our past lives?"
"I'm not sure," murmured Mars thoughtfully. "I just woke
up one day and I knew... I knew about it all. It came to me in a
dream. A dream that said to search for my eternal love, Princess
Serenity, and protect her against the evil that was reawakening."
She paused to give Moon a tender look and said, "When I first
saw you saving Luna from those bullies I knew who you were. And
I knew of our destiny together. You are my soulmate, Usagi."
"Oh, Setsuna," said Moon in dreamy tones as her eyes
once again formed heart shapes and she clasped her hands over
her chest.
Heaving a disgusted sigh at this, Luna shook her head then
muttered, "I'm guessing that we won't be getting very much work
done if this sort of behavior keeps up."
Unfortunately for Luna, she was entirely right.
---
Tsukino Usagi was late for school.
This was a fairly normal phenomena for her. In fact, there
was hardly a day where she wasn't late for school.
If you didn't count the weekends, that is.
So running out of her house at top speeds with Luna
chasing after her, was something Usagi was entirely used to. But
what she wasn't used to was seeing a rolls royce parked in front of
her house.
Freezing in her run, and causing Luna to bump into her in
the process, Usagi gaped at the plush car before her.
That was when the window rolled down and Usagi found
lost herself in the depths of magnetic red eyes.
"Usagi," said Setsuna warmly as she smiled. "I thought that
you might like riding with me to school from now on." She paused
to form a worried expression as she asked, "Or did I overstep my
bounds? I'm sorry if--"
"You're the best, Setsuna-chan!" Usagi interrupted with a
wide smile. She then grabbed the door handle and flung it open and
dove into the car next to the taller girl. "I can't remember when
anyone has ever done anything this nice for me! You're really are
the coolest girlfriend ever!"
With that, Usagi latched herself onto Setsuna's arm while
the svelte girl blushed dark red as Luna hopped into the car and
observed them with a rather droll expression.
Reaching over Usagi to close the car door, Setsuna pushed
a button that lowered the barrier between them and the driver and
said, "You know the route, Touji-kun."
"Right, Setsuna-chan," said the man named Touji with a
smile before the barrier went back into place.
"So, Setsuna," said Luna very slowly. "I take it that you
know what my mission was here?"
"Not really," said Setsuna as she smiled at Usagi who still
had her head resting on the taller girl's shoulder. "I only knew what
was in my heart. I had to find Usagi, I had to find my beloved
Princess." Her eyes turned more serious when she looked at the
guardian cat. "Why? Are you saying that your mission wasn't the
same as mine?"
"It's similar," said Luna. "In fact, it's almost finished thanks
to you. I was to gather all of the Senshi and then find the Moon
Princess. But now that I know Usagi is the Princess, our goal must
be to find the rest of the Senshi. Once we've done that then we'll
be able to find the Imperium Silver Crystal."
"Yes," Setsuna agreed with a solemn nod. "I myself have
been doing some research into that. Only the united power of the
Senshi will be able to summon the location of the Silver Crystal. I
assume that you have a headquarters of some kind set up for
investigation?"
"You bet we do! It's in the arcade!" Usagi burst into the
conversation wearing a happy smile.
"The arcade?" asked Setsuna. "That's a very clever place
to hide your base of operations, Luna."
"Yes, well," said Luna who colored at the flattering
comment. "I like to think so."
"All right," Setsuna murmured as she narrowed her eyes.
"We'll meet after school and discuss our plans. I've sensed other
powers emanating from this area that don't solely originate with
Usagi and myself. That either means more of the Senshi are here or
the enemy is close."
"Good plan," Luna complimented.
"Thank you," said Setsuna as she dipped her head. Turning
to look at Usagi, she gave a soft smile then asked, "May I pick you
up after school, Usagi-chan?"
"In this car? You bet!" Usagi exclaimed while she beamed
at Setsuna who continued to smile.
"Usagi," said Setsuna softly. She then started to reach out
to the other girl when the car came to a stop and the barrier
between them and the driver lowered again.
"Juuban Middle School, at your service," said Touji in
teasing tones. "But we better hurry or you might be late for your
first class, Setsuna-chan."
"Yes, quite right," said Setsuna with a cough as she turned
an interesting shade of red. She turned to look at Usagi but found
she and Luna were already out of the car and looking at her.
"I'll see you after school, Setsuna-chan!" said Usagi
happily. She paused to study Setsuna closely then came to an
internal decision and darted forward to kiss the svelte girl on the
cheek before turning and running away.
Setsuna sat in shock for a long moment, only brought out
of it by Usagi calling to her, "I'll see you after school! I can't wait
until then so we can talk some more!"
On hearing the word talk, Luna snorted loudly and Usagi
shushed her before she ran into her school.
Still gazing at Usagi's disappearing figure, Setsuna slowly
closed the door to her car and after she did so lifted her hand up to
gently touch the cheek that still tingled from the feel of kiss that
she'd just received.
There was a long moment of silence before Setsuna lifted
her gaze to look into the rear view mirror which reflected the
amused eyes of Touji.
"Okay," Setsuna said with soft humor. "Out with it already.
I know you have something to say about this."
"Me?" asked Touji. "Why would I do that? But I'm
guessing that girl has something to do with the reason why you've
never had a boyfriend despite all the offers, huh?"
"You could say that," said Setsuna as she smiled. "Or you
could say something else. It all depends."
"Yeah?" asked Touji curiously while stopping the car in
front of Juuban High School. "Depends on what?"
"On whether or not you believe in fate," replied Setsuna
smoothly before she exited the car with certain ease.
---
Queen Beryl of the Negaverse wasn't happy.
But this time it wasn't, much to her minions relief, because
she was interrupted in the middle of getting some nookie.
This time it was because her plan involving Jadeite had
backfired severely.
"I'm going to be sick," said Beryl in a low growl.
Her eyes darkened as she watched Jadeite launch into
singing 'It's A Small World After All' while doing the strange moves
of the figurines from the Disney World ride.
Apparently watching even less than twenty-four hours of
Disney movies nonstop can affect a person's brain in ways that
aren't useful, even for nefariously evil purposes.
"Oh, I don't know," said Endymion thoughtfully. "I rather
like his rendition of 'Under The Sea' and he make a surprisingly
convincing Ariel when wearing that wig."
Groaning at this, Beryl rubbed her forehead and said, "I
hate to tell you this, love, but we're not going to be able to conquer
the Earth through the power of musicals."
"Too bad," Endymion noted. "There's something hauntingly
evil about them that I really enjoy."
"I'll agree with that," said Beryl with a smile that soon
evaporated when she looked at Jadeite who was still doing the
Small World dance moves in front of them. "Get him out of my
sight! Make him watch a Xena marathon or something else of
quality and return him to normal!"
Instantly, several dark servants appeared and dragged the
singing and dancing Jadeite out of the room.
"Normal," said Endymion as he chuckled. "Now that's
really something that's up for discussion."
"Not now, darling," said Beryl as she sighed. She turned to
look at him then said, "But tell me... do you have any suggestions
about who we should send in Jadeite's place to undermine the
plans of the Senshi?"
Considering this, Endymion closed his eyes and wore a
thoughtful expression that made him look almost brain dead.
"Hmm," Endymion murmured. When his eyes opened he
smiled then said, "Send Zoisite. He's bitchy enough to take care of
them. Especially if we interrupt him in the middle of you know like
what Jadeite did for us."
"Good idea, love," Beryl purred. She then she faced
forward to snap her fingers loudly as she shouted, "Zoisite! Come
before me!"
Ignoring her husband's snickers at her choice of words due
to their former conversation, Beryl watched as the handsome and
half-clothed figure of Zoisite appeared.
"Majesty," said Zoisite with a grating politeness. He held a
very crumpled bed sheet around his waist as he asked, "What is
your command?"
"I want you to capture the members of the Sailor Senshi
that haven't been awakened yet," Beryl said. "Mars has summoned
the return of Sailor Moon's memories. This will make them a more
dangerous enemy and it seems as if they might get to the Imperium
Silver Crystal before us at this rate. We must insure this doesn't
happen by capturing the members of their team that haven't been
located yet."
"Yes, my Queen," said Zoisite with a low nod. "I'll leave
immediately and do as you ask. I will capture the last of the Sailor
Senshi and bring them to you."
With that, Zoisite bowed and started to teleport away in his
usual fashion when Endymion called out, "Make sure to put some
clothes on before you go!"
At this comment, all the gathered Negaverse servants of
evil collectively sweatdropped.
"Darling," said Beryl in a bare whisper. "I think that he
could have figured that out on his own."
"Hey," Endymion said with a smile and a shrug. "You never
know. Horny guys get real absentminded."
"Yes, well," Beryl said as she wore a rather embarrassed
expression. "If you say so."
"I do," said Endymion as he wore a smug smile. "It's just
one of the many mysteries of being a guy."
In this particular case, perhaps it was one of the many
mysteries Endymion should have kept to himself.
---
From her perch in the high tree, Luna observed the
dignified form of Setsuna as she sat in class, paying perfect
attention to what the Sensei was telling her students.
Despite the fact that Setsuna was obviously a Senshi and
the partial return of some of her memories of the Silver Millennium,
Luna did not entirely trust the girl.
There was something about her... an odd sense of power
and restraint that just didn't fit her role in Usagi's life.
It was almost as if someone had gone back in time and
changed things to their own accordance.
Shaking her head, Luna dismissed such thoughts. They
were ridiculous of course. She had her memories of the old times
and she knew of Mars role.
Mars had been chief among the Senshi because of her
dedication to the cause and especially to the Princess.
This, of course, had something to do with the fact that
Mars just happened to be romantically involved with the designated
heir to the Moon Kingdom.
And it was a love that was happily returned by Princess
Serenity, as Luna recalled.
In fact, everyone was happy for a long time. All the Senshi
finding contentment with each other. But then it arrived...
The great darkness.
Only where was it now? And what form had it taken? Luna
could barely recall her memories of the past and it didn't seem as if
Setsuna or Usagi knew much about the enemy from the snippets of
the past that they had regained.
Heaving a quiet sigh, Luna went back to watching Setsuna
and saw that the girl was looking directly at her.
Setsuna wore a soft and knowing smile as she dipped her
head in a gesture of acknowledgment before she stood up and
answered the Sensei's question.
"That girl," Luna murmured. "There's something special
about her that doesn't have anything to do with being a Senshi. I'm
sure of it."
Leaping down from the tree on hearing the dismissal bell
ring, Luna headed towards Juuban Middle School as she decided
not to mull on Setsuna any further.
Because when it came to Usagi's choices in romance they
were, as always, utterly baffling to her.
---
It was tough being a girl genius.
People always resented your intelligence, it was hard to
make friends, and worse of all, the teachers always tried to get you
to make their lesson plans for them.
These were things that Mizuno Ami knew all too well.
Somehow, she thought that things would be different if she
went to a 'normal' school instead of one of the various brain
academies that had been courting her ever since she was in
kindergarten and wrote her first Quantum Physics paper.
But even normal kids seemed to resent her intelligence. It
was truly puzzling to her because as capable as Ami was in the
realm of schooling she had very little experience or knowledge in
the ways of socialization.
In other words, Ami was socially inept.
It's a sad fate that graces many of the computer hacking
and book reading population.
Anyway, it was Ami's lack of socialization skills that made
her so surprised when out of nowhere a blonde girl with an odango
hairstyle began talking to her.
What was more surprising was that the blonde didn't seem
to want anything from Ami. She just wanted to chat. What Ami
found most surprising was the blonde's attitude. Her eyes lit up and
she looked ecstatic to see Ami.
This was a reaction that Ami hadn't ever experienced
before. Someone was glad to see her? It was a totally new and
wonderful event for her.
That was why Ami felt so reluctant to part with Usagi when
it came time for her to get to her class at the Crystal Academy. So,
dashing down the street at a fast pace, Ami waved at the other girl
and promised to go to the arcade with her tomorrow.
As she did so, Ami failed to notice the black cat closely
watching her exit and the fancy rolls royce driving past her and
towards Juuban Middle School.
This was because Ami had met a new friend.
And for the first time in a long while, she was happy.
---
Zoisite paused to adjust her hair as she looked at her
ravishing complexion displayed in her compact.
"Excellent," Zoisite purred, snapping the compact shut as
her prey ran past her. "Now I'll get you, my--"
Her dramatically evil speech was cut off by the loud sound
of screeching sirens that sounded after the blue haired girl had run
past her.
"Dammit!" said Zoisite irately as she banged on the locator
that Kunzite had given her. "Why do all of his toys always end up
malfunctioning like this?!"
By the time Zoisite had the problem fixed, a large crowd
had gathered around her and the blue haired girl was out of sight.
Forming a scowl, Zoisite glared at the crowd and said in
her usual bitchy manner, "What? Haven't you ever seen the forces
of darkness at work before?"
On hearing this statement, the crowd slowly dispersed
while Zoisite formed a scowl as she wondered just where her prey
had escaped to.
Zoisite contemplated using Kunzite's strange toy again but
didn't relish the idea of the siren going off again. This meant she
was going to have to drastic measures when it came to locating her
prey.
She would have to ask Beryl for directions.
---
"Usagi," began Luna in solemn tones. "Who was that girl
you were talking to? I sensed something unusual about her."
Luna's question was ignored Usagi spotting the rolls royce
as it pulled up in front of the school. With an elegant ease, Setsuna
stepped out of the car and smiled.
"Setsuna-chan!" exclaimed Usagi happily as she ran
towards the other girl and engulfed her in a hug.
"Usagi-chan," Setsuna murmured while she returned the
hug and tenderly looked down at the blonde head that was
pillowed against her chest. "How was your day? Did you have a
good time at school?"
"Great!" Usagi said with a smile. "I found our next Senshi.
As soon as I saw her I knew that she was one of us. I saw so
many memories of her spending time with us..."
"You did?" Setsuna and Luna both cried at the same time
and meeting each other's gazes they blinked.
Shaking her head, Setsuna asked, "Who is it, Usagi-chan?
Which one of us have you found?"
"The strongest of us all," said Usagi as she continued to
smile. "I found Sailor Jupiter."
---
"How could you do this?!" shouted Endymion in rage as he
glared at the figure of Zoisite. "Don't you know that guys never
ever ask for directions?!"
Trying his hardest not to sweatdrop, Zoisite said, "I'm
sorry, King Endymion. I simply thought--"
"Thought," Endymion interrupted with a snort. "I don't think
you thought at all. In fact, I think it involved a serious lack of
thought on your part. One might say..."
The King suddenly trailed off as he studied Zoisite closer
and narrowing his cobalt eyes, Endymion said, "Is it just me or
weren't you a girl a few minutes ago?"
"Pardon?" asked Zoisite in confusion.
"Hmm," said Endymion thoughtfully. He turned to look at
Beryl and said, "Don't you agree with me, sweetie pie? Wasn't
Zoisite a girl a few minutes ago?"
"Well," Beryl mused. "He certainly looked like he was a girl
when he was investigating down on Earth."
"And I don't know too many guys with a really nice rack
like he just had," Endymion murmured.
"Darling," growled Beryl. "You're talking about one of our
minions of evil. Try to have some propriety."
"What?" asked Endymion in nonplused tones. "You don't
think that he had a nice rack as a girl?"
"That's not the point, love," Beryl reasoned. "I just don't
think it's appropriate to discuss it like--"
"Hey! I need directions here! Can't you two talk about me
sometime later? Maybe behind my back?"
Beryl and Endymion turned to face the irate Zoisite who
was back in her previously discussed female form and gaped at
her.
And on seeing their eyes widen, Zoisite scowled again then
said, "What is it now?"
Exchanging a weary and silent look, the rulers of the
Negaverse decided they would simply discuss it later.
Because while the issue of Zoisite's gender was a mystery
that obviously needed further discussion they did have things to do
and a mission to send Zoisite on.
Even the most evil of people do have priorities.
---
Some claim that being online too much can turn into a
zombie of sorts. A creature that has little to no awareness about the
world around them, only concerned for the virtual world that's on
the screen before them.
In some ways, Ami might agree with this particular
assessment but before now she'd never actually seen the proof of
this belief with her own eyes.
Her entire advanced computer class stared glassy eyed at
their computer screens and Ami wondered if this was caused by
Bill Gates master plan or if it was just some sort of strange glitch in
the computer systems.
Either way, it was disturbing to observe.
It quickly got more disturbing when a very bishonen
looking man in a dark outfit appeared before her wearing a sly
smile on his handsome features.
"So," the man drawled in slow pronunciation. "You're the
one I'm supposed to capture. Funny, I didn't expect someone with
your powers to look like such a small and helpless little mouse.
This might just be fun."
"What powers?" asked Ami with wide eyes. "Who are
you? And what are you talking about?"
"I am Zoisite, servant of Queen Beryl and King Endymion
of the Negaverse," said Zoisite as a dark glow surrounded him.
"And I'm here to capture you before you can make more trouble
for us, my mousy Sailor Jupiter."
"Sailor Jupiter?" Ami echoed in shock.
Before she had time to say anything more, the door to the
classroom crashed open and she saw two girls dressed in pretty
sailor suits, one of which looked very familiar to her, burst into the
room in a brash manner.
"Ah," said Zoisite as she smiled. "Sailor Moon and Mars. I
was wondering when you would arrive."
"You won't win," said Sailor Moon fiercely. "There's no
way we'll let you take Jupiter from us!"
Chuckling at this, Zoisite said, "You have no idea what
you're dealing with, little girl. Evil always triumphs!"
Zoisite then gave a predictably evil and very high pitched
laugh as she covered her mouth with the back of her hand. And on
watching this, both Moon and Mars couldn't help but sweatdrop at
the sight.
"Uhm," said Moon in a low voice to Mars. "Doesn't the
saying go, 'Good always triumphs over evil'?"
"Yup," said Mars with a nod. "But maybe they have
different sayings from where she's from."
"Oh," Moon replied in sudden understanding. "Must be a
weird place where she's from."
"I agree," said Mars as she watched Zoisite who continued
in her long and evil sounding laugh.
When Zoisite finally finished with what she deemed a
sufficiently long evil laugh, she narrowed her eyes as she produced
a dark ball of energy in her palm.
"Foolish Sailor Senshi," Zoisite mocked. "Don't you know
you'll never be able to defeat the Negaverse? We own stock in
McDonalds! You'll never get rid of us!"
"No," said Mars in dark tones as she stepped forward. "It's
you who is foolish if you think that you can defeat us. And now I'll
show you why. Mars Fire--"
Unfortunately for Mars, her moment was interrupted by a
soft cough causing everyone to turn to Ami who hesitantly had her
hand raised in the air.
"Excuse me," said Ami quietly as she studied the scene
before her with analytical blue eyes. "But would you mind telling me
exactly what is going on here?" She then paused to look at Zoisite
and said, "And am I mistaken or weren't you a different gender a
few moments ago?"
Scowling at this, Zoisite shouted, "Why does everyone
keep saying that?! Do I look like a guy?!"
While Zoisite continued to rant, Luna suddenly appeared in
front of Ami holding a pen in her mouth and said, "Quick! Use this!
Call out Jupiter Power, Make Up and you'll become one of us!"
"A talking cat," Ami murmured as she stared at Luna
closely. "Are you some type of genetic mutation? And how can you
talk with a pen in your mouth?"
"What?!" Luna shouted a bit irately as she spit out the pen
and let it rest at her feet. "Would you just take the pen and call out
Jupiter Power, Make Up like I asked?! You must do it if you are
to become one of the Sailor Senshi!"
"Why would I want to do that?" asked Ami. "It doesn't
seem to be helping Usagi any and she does look a trifle ridiculous
in that outfit she has on."
"Hey," said Moon in surprise. "How did you know it was
me? My magical disguise is ingenious!"
At this, everyone sweatdropped, except Zoisite who was
still ranting on her gender issues, and Mars said in low tones to
Moon, "What disguise is that, love?"
"Uhm... uh... well..." Moon trailed off haplessly. She then
gave a nervous laugh and said, "Okay. So maybe I don't have an
ingenious disguise but no one has ever really recognized me as
Sailor Moon before."
"See?" said Ami to Luna. "It evens seems to have reduced
her mentality capacity. I thank you for the offer but I don't think I
want to be a Sailor Senshi."
"You can't just turn me down!" Luna cried in frustration.
"It's your destiny to be one of us!"
"You know," murmured Ami as her eyes narrowed. "More
and more this is starting to sound like some sort of cult. I think that
I'll have to report you."
While Luna yowled at this, Zoisite came back to himself
and said, "Now it's time to destroy you, Jupiter."
Before Ami could comment on Zoisite changing genders
yet again, the Negaverse warrior was in front of her and holding
her off the ground by the neck.
"Die, Sailor Jupiter!" Zoisite said as he formed a harsh and
dangerous smile. "Die and--" He paused to form a thoughtful
expression and said, "Oh, wait. I wasn't supposed to kill you."
"Could... have... fooled... me..." Ami choked out.
Giving an embarrassed laugh, Zoisite set Ami down on the
ground and brushed off her shoulders and said, "So sorry about
that. Will you please come with me back to the Negaverse and
serve the ultimate evil? We give great benefits and have an
excellent health plan. Plus our outfits are more stylish."
Ami seemed to actually be considering this when Mars
shouted out, "Mars Fire Soul!"
It was no surprise to Zoisite when he found himself totally
engulfed by a tower of flames.
Turning to look at Mars while he continued to burn, Zoisite
said, "You realize that was very rude."
Despite the fact that Zoisite being on fire was entirely
shocking to Ami what had her attention was the fact that Zoisite
had bumped into several of the new top line computers in the
classroom. Naturally, the fire that was burning Zoisite also burned
the computers and in turn ended up destroying them.
Her dark blue eyes growing dark, Ami clenched her jaw
and turning to Luna, she took the pen lying at the cat's feet and
shouted, "Jupiter Power, Make Up!"
A few seconds later the room was filled to the rim with an
overwhelmingly dangerous amount of electricity.
Electricity that proceeded to zap everyone, even the
unconscious zombie students, in the room and destroy all of the
very expensive top line computers whose welfare Ami had been so
concerned about protecting.
But that wasn't all, the electrical burst caused by Jupiter's
transformation was so powerful that it knocked out all of the
electricity for Tokyo for the rest of the day.
All in all, this wasn't the best introduction that the world,
and Tokyo in general, could have had to Sailor Jupiter.
To be continued...
All characters in this fanfiction are from Sailor Moon. This fanfic
was inspired by the works of Naoko Takeuchi but the craziness
behind it is purely my own. I'd like to thank Red Death and my
brother Patrick for listening to my goofy ideas.
Author's note: I know what you're thinking. What the hell is she up
to now and what drugs is she on? Well, I'm not on any drugs but
what I'm up to is writing yet another alternate reality series. This is
my companion piece for Black Rose, Blue Thunder but set in the
Sailor Moon universe. I always wanted to write a funny alternate
reality series for Sailor Moon and here it is. Since it is me, do
expect the usual amount of f/f romance and imminent goofiness. I
do hope you enjoyed my latest form of mania.
I really want to hear your thoughts on this project, so please e-mail

in this wacky new reality.

can stay where they are."
