So far, apparently, their role is to go, "Ooh! Aah! We are
insignificant before your godlike magnificence and we grovel before
you, insect-like superheroines with the power to erase all life from
the planet that we are."
*cough* I've written a prelude, and about 1.5 chapters at this point.
Only the prelude and 1 chapter have been released so far. This story
will not be in over in 2 or 3 chapters. A severely non-trivial portion
of the story remains to be written, let alone read.
Exactly why do the Saotomes need these second-raters? Clearly the
sensible thing to do would be when they see a demon to call up the guys
with the power to handle the situation and then go home. Or maybe do
crowd control.
The Senshi have this nasty habit of being on the scene of battle from the
beginning. Ranma and Akane do not. Due to their need to protect the weak and
helpless, the Senshi will try to stop enemies even if they have no hope
of doing so.
I seem to recall the Senshi developing a way of doing so when confronted
by the Amazonian Quartet, though..
Now, to be sure I have serious doubts about Akane or even Ranma being
that powerful. Cologne isn't that powerful. Happosai isn't that
powerful. And while it's not unreasonable that Ranma at his height may
be somewhat better than those two masters, it seems to me unlikely that
Akane would ever be so great as to overshadow them into insignificance.
This is a fundamentally different way in which to operate. A nuclear weapon
shadows Colonge and Happosai into insignificane, but only if you know the
secret of splitting atoms and uranium refinement.
An unending flow of ki also allows them to take a different path to learn
techniques, too.
I particularly balk at the idea that Ranma and Akane could stay that
good without doing any practising. Martial Arts is not like riding a
bicycle. If you don't use it, you lose it.
Right. Where'd I say they didn't practice? I'll correct that error immediately.
Minako goes to school 6 days a week, for what, 7 hours a day or something?
Then she is always running around with her friends until all hours of the
night. Ranma and Akane could be running a gambling joint in their apartment
and Minako wouldn't ever know.
