Chapter 2 shows up before my response to chapter 1.... I hope the
author, at
least, received that response.
<snip section about future Emperor's power>
Interesting. Is this Warhammer cannon? I'm not familiar with that
game. It
is, however, nice to have an explanation for why humans no longer
possess
psionic power or much magic.
Actually, it is Warhammer cannon as of the Second Edition of the game.
The Third edition is out, and it is implied that the Emperor's origin
is the same.
Cologne could not let that happen.
Yet.
I'm getting the implication that Cologne wouldn't mind if Kodachi
"rid
herself" of Akane, once Akane is no longer useful. Is that what you
intended
to imply? If so, I presume that she's thinking that such an action
would
remove two of Shampoo's rivals.
If need be. The only thing I see that she has against Akane is the
pesky 'fiancee' thing. If that was out of the way, then she might even
offer to train Akane, providing the girl moves back to the village. She
may not be as skilled as Shampoo, but she seems stronger, and she's
likely aat least as skilled as most of the Amazon warriors. Of course,
that's as I see it. As long as the 'fiancee' thing is there, though,
she's an obstacle. And you know the old Amazon saying about obstacles.
Right now, the most likely aspect to look into was the
similarity
between the phenomenon that Akane described, and the effects
generated
by an old friend. The problem was simply finding him.
So Cologne (presumably) knows the future Emperor. This could lead to
interesting complications.
Actually, the proposition was made in Chapter One. And yes, it will.
Akane's eyes widened. "B-but Cologne said...>koff<" Her dry
throat
could take no more, and she broke down into a coughing fit. Nabiki
reached... well... _somewhere_, and produced a glass of water.
Interesting.... Since you deliberately reference this ability (and
that
_Nabiki_, of all people, possesses it), you may need to reconcile
it's
existence with the fact that all psionic abilities were sealed within
the
Emperor. I certainly hope that this isn't merely a throw-away
reference.
As you noticed, it's not that they were psionic.
Nabiki spoke. "Akane, we were outside. I was home early,
taking
care of the Dojo's debts, and everyone else was enjoying the
sunshine.
I thought it had been established in chapter one that Nabiki was out
acquiring
money from Kuno?
Or, at least that's what Akane and Ranma thought. I'm going to have to
go back and correct that, though. Thanks for pointing it out.
Akane started to answer, then blushed almost solid crimson,
and
simply sat, and ate. If she admitted what she had realized, she
would
have to admit something to her sisters, and herself, she didn't
think
was true.
You may want to phrase that "hadn't thought was true." She seems to
realize
it now, at least.
Or perhaps, "want to admit was true."
It seems obvious that only those with some connection to Ranma could
see his
departure. The exact nature of that connection, however, is still
unclear.
Is it those who care for him, or those that he cares for? What, if
anything,
did Kodachi see? What about Ryoga or Mousse? Hiroshi and Daisuke?
I doubt
Kuno would have seen much of anything either way.
Answers are forthcoming.
Thus, did the man who had walked the Earth for ten thousand
years
begin the quest to fulfill his destiny. A quest that, thirty
thousand
years later, would lead him to choose a champion from the depths of
history.
Now that is an interesting coincidence. The being who later became
the
Emperor began his influence of human destiny within a few days of the
time
Ranma disappeared. Did he sense the actions of his future self? If
so, what
are his thoughts of the situation?
Actually, Warhammer cannon has the Emporer beginning his subtle
manipulations of the development of the world at about 1990-2010, so it
fits in nicely with Wahammer cannon.
Thank you most profusely for the C&C, and I'm posting Chapter 3 in a
few minutes.
