How does the anime/manga restriction relate to video games?
They're currently separated, but undergoing counselling. The children are

It would be a little silly to say "You can write a Final Fantasy 5 fic, but
not a Final Fantasy 7 fic, because only FF5 has had anime made for it". If
you ever intend to enforce the anime/manga only rule, I think that Japanese
video games should be added to the list of allowable subjects (and
sentai/live
action, while you're at it).
As many video games and sentai shows contain themes and characters almost
synonymous with those of manga and anime, the posting of fics related to
them isn't in any way beyond the scope of the ML. Fanfics for Xenogears or
Final Fantasy Seven are perfectly acceptable.
It's really just a matter of common sense knowing what is and isn't
acceptable for a fiction list with an anime/manga focus. We generally
trust the members of the FFML to post appropriate fanfics, and they usually
do.
