Mousse-duck looked at Usagi, looked at the shotgun swivelling his way,
and borrowed a trick of Genma's by whipping out a sign with wording on
it: "You're despicable."

Hahahaha! That's good. It makes me wish I had thought of it.

Usagi was all smiles as she walked into the shrine's fire room.
"Welcome back, Rei!  How was America?"

Rei glanced at Usagi, then continued to stare into the fire.  "I learned
a new visualization trick.  I wanted to try it with you here.  I'm
suprised you weren't at the airpot when I landed."

"Well..."

"She got detention," Mako continued when Usagi did not.  "Again."

"Err, yeah.  So, anyway, what's the trick?"

Rei smiled.  "A way of seeing what spirits associate which each of you.
If I can make contact with them, we might even be able to ask their
advice in times of need."

"Cool!"  Usagi quickly sat down with the other three Inner Senshi behind
Rei.  "Any luck yet?"

"Some.  I saw my own first."  A vision of a bulked out eagle, or maybe a
mutant chicken, filled the flames.  "This one has the wisdom of nature.
I think he's a farm spirit."  The image cleared out, soon replaced with
a wiry humanoid coyote.  "This one is Ami's.  He's a bit of a loner, but
he's an engineer and a scientist, always hungry for more."

Usagi smirked.  "I think I'm seeing a pattern here..."

"You are."  Now a short redheaded cowboy appeared, aiming twin revolvers
at some unseen foe.  "Makoto's is a warrior, fearless and brave."  The
cowboy faded into a black feathered duck with a white collar.  "I'm not
quite sure about this one, but he is Mina's.  I sense fame and
relentlessness.  I think he may represent something about Sailor V."

Mina shrugged in response to Usagi's unspoken question.  "It's a mystery
to me, too.  I don't recall any adventure with a duck."

"And now for you, Usagi..."  Rei closed her eyes and concentrated,
letting the last vision dissapear.  "Ancient spirits, I call upon thee,
show me Usagi's companion...Ah!  Say!  Emm!  Ee!" [1]

Slowly, a grey with white highlights rabbit appeared, standing on two
feet and chomping a carrot like a cigar with a strangely handlike
gloved forepaw.

Usagi stared at the vision, not quite sure what to make of it.

"I sense great power from this one, and great love...I think it's a love
for everyone, just like yours, Usagi."

Usagi blinked.  "Why...does it always have to be *rabbits* with me?"

The others facefaulted.

"So, Rei, umm...how do we...contact these spirits?"

"I don't know.  I was told they'd tell us, when they're ready."

"Neee..."

Rei backed away as the bunny stepped out of the fire and made its way to
Usagi.

"Tell you what.  You already use phrases to call for things, so I'll
just give you a new phrase.  When you want to talk to me, just say,
'What's up, Doc?'"
