As jewi@uswest.net has seen fit to post this plea for clemency to the list
itself, I've seen fit to respond to it on the list as well.  

First, a quotation from the FAQ:

*It is always a good idea to check through an entire thread before 
*posting in it. The question you are answering may have already been 
*answered, or the moderators may have already called a halt to the 
*thread. If you think a thread is going to be banned, it probably will
*be. In such a case, the proper thing to do is to refrain from posting in
*it. Don't try to slip in one last post before the ban comes through.

It is the responsibility of all members of the FFML to read the FAQ in
full, and to know its contents reasonably well.  "Read the entire thread
before posting" is one of the best pieces of advice in the FAQ, and if more
people would follow it, we'd have a lot less spam.

"I didn't read the ban notice until after I sent the post" is not an excuse
for posting to a banned thread.  "I'm new" is not an excuse for violating
the rules.

jewi@uswest.net is postbanned from the FFML for one week.

I'll also draw the attention of the entire FFML population, especially
those who participated in the two threads recently banned, to the sentence,
"If you think a thread is going to be banned, it probably will be".

Debates about Ranma's intelligence and discussions of human biology are
such threads, and the members of the FFML should know better than to
continue them, even if they haven't yet been formally banned.
