I have a bit of an unusual situation. I have a complete mecha
cosmos designed, originally for a game of Mekton that never panned out,
complete with multiple stellar nations, considerable numbers of
starship classes, mecha, aircraft, tanks, races, and sources of
conflict. The pseudo-science of the entire functioning of everything,
even the mecha and stardrive method, has been completely written out on
paper. I am itching to tell stories set in this world.
The problem is, I am stumped. It may be that there is just TOO
much information, or that anything I start just seems wrong to me. I
can design mecha and worlds, but have a hard time telling the tales of
those worlds.
If someone is willing, I would like to collaborate on a work. The
feel of the universe is somewhere between Gundam and Five Star Stories,
with a healthy dose of Star Trek, and generic Space Opera thrown in.
The stellar nations range from the technotheocracy of Jihad, fiercely
independant Andrel, the restrained and defensive Worlds of Bandras, the
mysterious Avinor Protectorates, the quirky Kaverran Free States, and
the massive, intergalactic Commonwealth. I could fill a hundred e-mails
with the information I have; as it is, I have two three-ring binders
full of information; one is solely dedicated to Mekton stats for the
mecha!
I would like to find someone who can help me bring this universe
to life, as all the work I did for this universe seems to me to be
wasted if it is not presented before those who can appreciate it. And
if I tried to post my own, abortive attempts, it will not be
appreciated. And over two thousand years of history will go down the
drain. ;-)
