The FAQ already discourages flood posting. This is about the best we can
do unless the admins ask us to go further. While many of us consider
flooding an annoyance, it's not completely pointless and universally
disliked the way that test messages are.

Personally, I'll read flood-posted stuff only if it looks *really*
interesting; otherwise I'll either save it (and more than likely never
get around to looking at it) or just delete it. While flooding is likely
to greatly decrease the number of people reading a series, if an author
wants to take his/her chances I don't think we can categorically say no
you can't -- unless the admins decide that this is list policy.
