As I wrote the fellow who started this thread, I still think that,
despite Misato's obvious problems, she is not a pedophile.

Well, she doesn't necessarily have to have sex with him, does she?  At least 
not yet.  Part of a good story about this could be Misato trying to keep 
their relationship platonic, at least until he reaches an appropriate age.  
Not all relationships have strictly to do with sex, ya know.  Of course, if 
the subject is pressed, Shinji _is_ above Legal age for Japan, or so I've 
read.  Then again, that may change between then and Tokyo-3.  It's a matter 
of personal and cultural taste.  It sickens you, I really don't care, as 
long as both parties involved know what they're getting into, while others 
have no problem whatsoever.

It's not the age difference (considering I'm ten years older than my
fiancee, I couldn't talk about that anyhow), it's the fact that Shinji
is a kid. That's just *sick*.

See the above point.  If it really came down to it, I do believe Misato is 
capable of waiting.

Besides, I still think she's got somethin' with Pen-Pen.

In short, While the subject may be offensive to some members of the 
FFML(say, you.), from a Japanese cultural standpoint, there's not much wrong 
with it.  If you're offended, don't read it(unless it's a Resident Evil 
Lemon by PJ, then you may flame 'til your heart's content.^_^)
