Example: Akane finds Ranma's Last Letter while
he's out, where he
confesses his True Feelings (whatever they are).
How does she take it?

The problem here is that I simply cannot see Ranma
writing such a letter.
He's abysmal at expressing himself, but that's only
the beginning.

Most teenagers seem to go through a phase of
thinking themselves
invincible. Ranma is far more arrogant than most
teenagers. He also
has some pretty good evidence, in the form of all of
the things he's
been through, that he actually is invincible.
Likely, the thought of
his own demise would not even occur to him, and if
it did, he'd simply
dismiss it as impossible.

I sincerely agree. Part of what keeps Ranma alive
despite everything he goes is a stubbornness that won't
allow him to give up. His arrogance is benefitial when
it comes to survival. He might not always win, but he
always lives through to trimph in the end. But enough
about what has already been discussed many times.
There are many Ranma darkfics out there with
similar themes, inwhich he or anybody else acts quite
OOC, but is still praised for quality. His character
has been mangled, twisted, improvised, misunderstood,
etc., so many times already that a little leeaway is
okay in my book, as long as the story is interesting.
Don't stifle your creativity for the sake of
characterization, I say.

On the other hand, I can easily see Ryouga writing
such a letter.
What would Akane do if she found out? What about
Akari?

If you do need to keep IC, then I suppose Ryoga
would be a better candidate.
