Chapter 6: Backfire.
Amiel and the necromancer jumped from roof to roof. They were
searching for a woman named Sahia, or at least that's what the
necromancer calls her. She's supposed to be one of the most powerful
free style black mages out there, and she would be very useful.
The sun was long gone in Friday night sky. Only the clouds, and the
moon and the stars roamed. No one was outside which made it a perfect
time to travel. The less attention they draw, the better.
The cold biting wind blew against Amiel as it sighed. The chances of
finding this woman were nil, and the chances of getting her to join were
just as bad. "So, how are we going to find this mage? With all the magic
bouncing around it's impossible to sense anything."
The necromancer smiled from within his cloak as he produced a small,
bright white object. "This is one of my own invention's. It's a magic
tracer. We'll find her, don't worry."
Amiel nodded and wondered how to create these tracer's. "Well we
better get there soon, I have a job to do."
Nodding the necromancer pointed to an abandoned building about half
a kilometer away. "That's where she is. Saving on rent by using an old
house for shelter."
So they swiftly moved through the night, heading toward's their
target........
A figure sat in the shadow's reading over some books. They were
mostly about dark magic, but there were a few on other things like
undead and necromancy. Necromancy was one of it's favorite type's of
magic, almost to the extent of good old dark magic.
It closed the book and got up. It then walked over to the window and
looked outside. The moon was being blocked out by clouds. But some light
shone onto it and it looked like a she. Actually, it was Sahia, one of
the greatest freestyle dark mages ever.
Then she heard a ringing sound. So she reached into her pocket and
pulled out her cellular phone and spoke into it. "Hello?"
A male voice answered from the other side. "Sahia! There are two
mages heading your way. They'll be there any minute now. You better get
out of there!"
Sahia looked out the window again but didn't see anything coming.
But they could be coming from any other side. "Do you think it's the
E.S.F?
"I think so, but you can't be sure. With all the activity here mages
from all ends of the earth will come. I suggest you get out and run
now!"
Sahia didn't like running away but either that or die, and she
wasn't ready to die. "Fine, I'll go, good-bye."
"Good-bye and good luck!" And then he hung up.
The mage was about to run to the door but it was to late.........
Amiel and the necromancer busted through the door. They entered a
rather mundane room. It was empty except for a pillow and a blanket. The
walls and floors were rotting and full of holes. Their was no real
source of light in the room so it was extremely dark.
Amiel walked up to the woman and looked at her. Very little could be
made out in this light but you could tell she was rather short with long
dark hair. "So, are you Sahia?"
The woman was slowly reaching for the sword when Amiel raised her
hand and quickly said, "There will be no need for that yet. We haven't
come for a fight, we want to talk with you."
The woman refrained from drawing her sword for the moment but she
shot an angry glare at the two of them. "And why would the E.S.F want to
talk?"
Amiel looked at the woman in surprise, why was she talking about the
E.S.F? But before Amiel could speak the necromancer stepped forward and
got to talk first. "What do you mean? Were not member's of the E.S.F."
Sahia spit on the floor and began to move for her sword again.
"Lying son of a bitches. Your out to kill me! But I won't let you get me
alive!" With that Sahia drew her sword and charged at Amiel.
But before the battle began the necromancer handled it rather
quickly. "Incapacitate!" And with that Sahia fell down, asleep.
Amiel looked at the body and then back at the necromancer. "What the
hell was that?"
The necromancer smiled as he snapped his fingers. "It's a spell that
knocks an enemy out. But it only works on someone who is unprepared, and
has a limited range. Also it's easy to detect. Frankly it's used when
your enemy is to overwhelmed by anger and is to stunned by anger to
concentrate on anything but killing you. Unfortunately, that's too hard
to do."
"So then we wait for her to wake up."........
Ieler moved swiftly from shadow to shadow. It seemed Nikee had
eluded him for the moment, but not for long. He had to find her quickly,
the E.S.F is to dangerous to toy with........
Sahia awoke to see the ceiling of the old building she lived in,
maybe it was all a dream. Maybe the E.S.F wasn't after her. But these
hopes were soon thrown out the window when a figure loomed over her. The
was someone with a shadow wall up.
Quickly Sahia jumped to her feet and reached for her sword, but
found it was not there. She then looked at the necromancer who was
smiling as he looked over the sword. "Looking for this young lady? You
are rather violent, aren't you?"
Sahia sighed and then decided to use magic. She quickly drew up a
lot of power and flung it at the necromancer in the form of a glowing
black sphere. But that sphere didn't even reach him, it dissipated about
a foot away from him. "Would you just give it up already. Every
precaution had been taken while you were knocked out. Trying to escape
or fighting us would be extremely bad for your health. So let's just
talk."
Sahia sat back down on the floor and glared at the two of them in a
way that could freeze mercury. "I don't talk with the E.S.F. just kill
me and get it over with."
Amiel sighed as it drew her sword and tapped the floor with it. "You
really are that stupid aren't you? We are not working with the E.S.F,
okay? All we want to do is talk with you."
"Liar! I'll kill you damnit! Lying son of a bitch. You'll regret
this day, trust me."
The necromancer sighed as he leaned against the wall. "Thick headed
isn't she Amiel? Won't listen to a word." He paused for a second and
then diverted his gaze from the wall to Sahia. "Oh yes, one more thing.
Don't try to escape, we have you in a binding field."
Sahia looked surprised for a second and then she reached out her
hand. It seemed to hit and invisible wall. For a minute or so she
hastily tried to find a crack in the field, but to no avail. "I still
won't talk."
Before either of the two people could talk someone else ran through
the door. A woman wielding a magnum in her right hand, pointing it at
Amiel. This woman was tall and slim rather slim with an excellent form.
She had long night-black hair and dark brown eyes. She wore a black
business suit which wasn't in the best of shape. "You three are under
arrest by order of the E.S.F."
The necromancer sighed like he usually did. Things today had gone
from bad to worse.....
