Lol, so much for Hurricane Floyd. He wimped out big
time

Wimped out? I was vacationing on Oak Island, Ground Zero for Floyd.

We were evacuated out of our beachfront cottage, and spent the night
sleeping (or trying to sleep) on the cement floor of a fish market on
the Cape Fear River. 120 mile an hour winds on either side of the eye
of the hurricane don't let you sleep much, especially when you feel
the shingles ripping off the roof.

When we returned to the beach, we discovered that the houses were
being condemned (check page one of USA Today for a shot of one of the
houses on the street were staying on).

Driving from the beach to Wilmington Airport was interesting...Route
133 was flooded, and I had to take the rental car through about 8
stretches of fast-flowing water. Some cars didn't make it.

I think I'll stay home and write now.
