Speaking as someone who has made--and paid--for this mistake before,
posting an angry, inflamed rant about something that pisses you off in
fanfics is not going to win you any popularity contests, or really cause
anyone to start thinking. It's just going to spark a flamewar; hopefully a
private one, but nevertheless, you shouldn't invite trouble upon yourself
unless you have a *really* good reason. Being pissed at authors for using
non-Norse deities in Aa! Megami-sama fanfiction is *not* a good reason.
I agree that this "Query" shouldn't have been on the list. If there had
been a recent fic that *had* used non-Norse deities, and someone
generally felt that their use weakened the fic, it would've been a
reasonable thing to post. But I'm reasonably sure that there's not been
any such fic. Seems to me that this is basically equivalent to "Why are
there so many fics based on series X?" which has been repeatedly banned
by the admins and is specifically mentioned as a dead horse in the FAQ.
Eslin, you seem to be confused about what sort of posts the list is
intended for. If you want to post to the FFML:
1) Find a fic that's come over the list.
2) Read it.
3) Post a meaningful response.
Now, if your reaction to this is, "But that's HARRRRRD!!!" well, you're
right; it is. But there's an easy alternative: Don't post at all.
