This is my first songfic, so be gentle.  It's an original song that I
made up while writing a different fic.  Sorry, but I tried at least. 
Here it is in all its seriously-needing-help glory.  C&C to be sent to

How Do I Say

[Scene fades in and music starts to play a soft, slow, melodic tune.]

This isn't what I planned on

[Camera shows a woman with purple hair lying on a bed holding a picture
of a young man.  Tears falling from her pretty red eyes.]

This isn't what I wanted to happen

[Flashback to a day or so earlier.  The girl is yelling at the man to
stop being so stupid and blows him to bits with a spell.]

Why are there tears coming from your sweet eyes?

[He sighs and walks away from her, disappearing into the darkness.  The
girl is left alone in the darkness and the scene fades out.]

I never wanted any of this, none of this at all

[The girl is walking down a long hallway with a flowing white gown
blowing back from her thin limbs in the wind.  Her long purple hair is
swirling around in the breeze, but she doesn't seem to notice.]

It seems that once I start to climb, 
I also start to fall

[the ground opens up and she falls, arms crossed over her chest, eyes
staring blankly in front of her.]


Stars in the night

[She touches down and sees the man again.  He turns towards her and holds
out his hand.]

Glittering so bright

[Suddenly the girl has flaming red hair and has grown visibly smaller. 
Her eyes are the same fiery red and she holds out her hand in
desperation.]

Used to hold me in their heavenly bond

[The man's hair is a golden color and he is wearing armor and a sword. 
He smiles and opens his arms as she runs towards him.]

Now it seems that they're long gone

[Just as she reaches the man, he vanishes and she falls forward, hitting
the ground hard on her knees.]

Faint memories of what used to be

[One second shots of Lina and Gourry flash by.]

Now it seems they've gone from me

[Blackness surrounds her and she hugs herself, fighting back tears.]

Now what do I do?

[She looks at the camera and you know you're seeing into her soul.]

How do I say, I love you?

[She closes her eyes and fades out, disintergrating into thousands of
tiny blue bubbles.]



I used to smile and laugh with you

[Lina is hanging off of Gourry and laughing as he smiles down at her.]

When you were close by me

[Picture of Gourry holding Lina.]

I never felt sad and never felt the sorrow

[She smiles secretly and holds him closer, not wanting it to end.]

Growing within my heart

[He disappears again, this time Lina turns and runs off in the other
direction.  She runs from a ghost of a man and two other people.  A
chimera and a young princess.]

You were there to heal the pain

[As she turns to look back, Gourry catches her in his arms and kisses her
on the top of the head.]

but now you're gone

[She looks up and there's no one there anymore.]

Just like the stars
You've left me all alone
 
[Lina sinks down into the floor, dissolving back into the blue bubbles.]


Stars in the night

[Lina is standing on a rooftop, watching the stars form above Saillune.]

Glittering so bright

[She reaches out to one and it floats down upon her finger.  Glowing a
soft yellow and she clasps it close to her heart.]

Used to hold me in their heavenly bond

[The glow fades and Lina watches the stars again, waiting for something.]

Now it seems that they're long gone

[All of the stars fade out and Lina is now facing the edge of a cliff. 
She stares down into the black abyss below, never wavering in the
slightest.]

Faint memories of what used to be

[She lets the dead star fall from her fingertips and watches the black
night below engulf it.]

Now it seems they've gone from me

[The faces of people she knew emerge from the abyss and slowly form
people.  Zelgadis, Amelia, Sylpheel, Naga, Rezo, and finally Gourry.]

Now what do I do?
How do I say, I love you?

[She hesitates before reaching out to the floating hologram Gourry.  He
doesn't look at her at first, but then his eyes shine and he holds her
hand.  Now he's real.]

You used to touch me in that special way

[Gourry and Lina are walking along goofing off like they used to, but now
there's something different.  He is paying more attention and looks
worried when she trips and falls.]

But never hurt me by your gentleness

[he helps her up and tells her to be more careful.  She smiles at him and
he just laughs.  The smile fades from Lina's face.]

I always wished you'd kiss me

[Lina is standing next to Gourry watching Martina and Zangulus get
married.  She closes her eyes for a second and imagines herself in
Martina's place and Gourry next to her.]

But you always stayed far apart from me

[He waves a hand in front of her and asks if she's awake or not.  She
just laughs and bonks him on the head for interrupting her thoughts.]

Now you've left me all alone

[The above scene fades out and Lina is alone again, hugging her knees. 
She's older now and seems to be wiping away tears.]

Just like the stars, I have no one left

[Gourry walks up and taps her on the shoulder.  She looks up without a
trace of the sadness before.  She smiles at him and laughs when he asks
if she's alright.]

Where is this special love people talk about?

[Gourry walks off with Lina in tow and he's asking her where they go from
here.]

Where do I find this special love?

[Lina shrugs and thinks that anywhere is good as long as they're
together.]


Stars in the night

[Gourry and Lina are camping out under the stars.  Gourry is already
asleep and Lina is up watching the dying embers of the fire.]

Glittering so bright

[As the fireflies come out she curls up on the opposite side of the tree
that Gourry is sleeping against.]

Used to hold me in their heavenly bond

[She dreams of the old days and everyone is back again, fighting side by
side.]

Now it seems that they're long gone

[Everyone fades out and she's left alone on the desert plain. She wanders
around, waiting for someone to show up like before.]

Faint memories of what used to be

[She continues wandering and flames shoot up behind her, but she walks
through them like they were nothing.  A distorted figure can be seen
through the fire and she begins to run towards it.]

Now it seems they've gone from me

[The curtain of fire parts and its Gourry and the others standing there
waiting for her to catch up.  Gourry waves to her, shouting that he knew
she'd make it in time.]

Now what do I do?

[She smiles a little sadly and nods her head. "Of course I'd be here!"
she yells and stomps up to them.  They all welcome her and they head off
for a new adventure.  Gourry is just ahead of her and Lina watches him
with a concerned look in her eyes.]

How do I say, I love you?

[He turns to her and she smiles, masking her pain.  She runs to catch up
and they all dissolve into the blue bubbles.  The mass of bubbles merge
together and become a new Lina.  She stands there, confused, and walks
forward again.]

How do I say, I love you?

[She runs ahead and catches Gourry by the arm.  He smiles down at her and
gently takes her into his arms.  Just a hug and nothing more, but Lina
closes her eyes as a tear falls down her face.]

I used to watch the stars

[He just holds her and they don't speak a word.  Then Gourry moves back
and turns away.]

Glitter above me alone at night

[The stars emege behind him along with the Four Staffs and the Sea of
Chaos.]

I struggled against the loneliness

[he steps into the churning Sea and holds out his hand.]

Now I embrace it as an old friend

[Lina is uncertain of what to do, but takes Gourry's hand as he sinks
lower into the Sea.]

I never knew it, but it knew me

[he holds her close as they both sink lower and lower.]

Can't you tell, can't you see?

[She looks up into his eyes and he's smiling down at her, telling her not
to worry.]

Now what do I do?

[he takes her chin in his hand and raises her face to his level. Very
softly his lips brush the top of her forehead.  Her eyes go wide and now
she has purple hair again.  He's not as tall, but still as handsome. 
They both hold onto each other as they almost sink below the waves of the
Sea of Chaos.]

how do I say I love you?

[Lina looks up to Gourry and whispers, "Thank you." He just smiles at her
as they disappear beneath the waves.]

Yes, it's late and yes it was bad.  I don't really mind if you choose to
flame me.  It's a lame attempt at romance and i really don't mind if you
hated it.  Tell me, I can handle it.  Right now, I'm sick so everything
goes by the way of opposites...which means I won't understand if you said
it sucked.  heh, go ahead, MST if you want.  I don't mind.  Oh, and yes,
everyone is OOC.  Lookie! I can do that too~
