				Love Lost 2
Hi! I was really bored one day, and decided to continue this author's story.
Hope you enjoy it! I've continued right from where the last one ended, and I've
made Mamoru live in Osaka. These < > signal thought, although
I usually tell you anyway. On to the story!
E-mail me at Queen_Morgana@yahoo.com.

Usagi got up, from finishing her story on the computer
in her living room. <I wonder if there's still that bar down
on 4th street.> Usagi picked up her purse and walked down to
the elevator. Once inside, she pushed the button for the lobby.
Usagi hadn't been down to the bar since her move down to Osaka
with Mamoru. She had met several nice people there, and she hoped
to be able to go there for solitude now.

Usagi walked down the street until she found herself in front
of the Crown Palace Cafe. She decided to go inside, in hopes of
seeing someone she knew. No one seemed to be there, so she
walked out again, heading for the bar she used to go to on
4th street.

Usagi entered the bar.<I knew it was still here.> Usagi sat at
the bar and asked for a martini <Mamoru and I always used to
have this when we were still close.> Usagi mulled over her
drink and just thought of the good times, when she and Mamoru
were still together.

"Excuse me, is anyone sitting here?" a man asked Usagi,
surprising her.

"No." Usagi replied still upset over the divorce.

"Is something wrong? You look upset." this man sounded
concered, Usagi thought.

"Yeah, I just got a divorce. My husband didn't want me
anymore." Usagi felt like opening up to someone other than
her friends.

"I went through a divorce a couple years ago. My wife was a
bitch and I couldn't stand to be around her. What's your name?"

"Tsukino Usagi, yours?"

"Terada Kenji. That a martini?"

"Yeah." Kenji ordered a martini too, then Usagi continued,
"Did you move out, or did she?"

"She did, although she was drunk when she left, so she left
most everything. Did you move out?" Kenji seemed very comfortable,
Usagi noted.

"Yeah, I left everything he gave me. I assume he got rid of
all of it too." Usagi winced thinking about all the money she
could've made off of what he had given her. "Hey, I need to go."
Usagi stood up.

"Here's my number, gimme a call, okay?" Kenji handed a piece of
paper to Usagi. She nodded and left, leaving money on the counter
for her drink, which Kenji noted, Usagi hadn't had any of.

Usagi walked out of the bar. It wasn't an uncomfortable situation
for her, but she realized she had made an appointment to see Ami,
and had only gotten the martini to stare at, not drink, in case
she was pregnant.

Usagi walked into the hospital, and towards the front desk. She
asked the nurse where she could find Dr. Mizuno, and the nurse
gave her directions. Usagi thanked the nurse, and walked to Ami's
office.

Usagi knocked on Ami's open door. Ami was sitting at her desk and
smiled when she saw Usagi.

"Come in. Sit down. How are you?" Ami walked towards the door
to shut it.

"Pretty good. What all do you need me to do?" Usagi asked,
getting straight to the point.

Ami explained what she needed Usagi to do, and the appointment
went quickly for Usagi.

"The results will be in in two days. You want me to give you a
call?" Ami asked.

"Sure. You have my number, right?" Usagi asked grabbing her coat.

"Yeah. I'll be giving you a call then. See 'ya." Ami said walking
back to her desk.

"Bye."

Usagi walked back to her apartment where she picked up the phone
and pulled out Kenji's number. The message machine picked up, and
Usagi left a message.

"Hey Kenji, it's Usagi, the girl you met in the bar tonight. I'm
just giving you a call to ask if you wanted to do something, sometime.
I don't really care, but I'm bored, so give me a call. My number is
03-5292-3204. Bye." Usagi hung up the phone, and put her head against
the wall. <I don't need him. I don't need him.> Usagi repeated this
in her mind, which formulated a plan. Usagi walked over to her
computer, pulled up a program and started writing.

Darien,
It's me. I just wanted to tell you how much I hate you right now.
I know you never cared about the marriage, making me curious about
your vows, but that's not the point. I'm curious as to what you'd
do if I was pregnant right now. You really don't need to respond,
but I am curious. Am I, you ask? I am not currently aware of it
even if I was, which I'm sure I'm not.
Anyway, I hate you. You never cared, but I've found someone who
does care and he's after you. This isn't a threat, he just wants
you dead, and so do I. Hope your life is wonderful without me.
I know you weren't pleased, but we all make mistakes. I realise
you can't respond when you don't know where I live, which you
shouldn't, but if you really want to respond, send it to Rei.
She could find me.
								Usagi

Usagi reread her letter, wondering if she should write a
different letter telling him of her eminent death, but decided
against for the time being. She printed out the letter and decided
to send this one first, then go talk to the girls, about telling
anyone where she was. <He absolutely can't know where I live.
I couldn't bear to see him again.> Usagi put the letter in an
envelope and left it sitting on the counter. She picked up her
purse again and walked out the door.

Usagi walked towards Makoto's apartment and knocked.

"Who is it?" Makoto's voice rang out from inside the apartment.

"It's Usagi." Makoto opened the door at the sound of Usagi's
voice. "Is this a bad time?" Usagi asked quickly hoping to avoid
another uncomfortable situtation.

"Oh no, Ken's off at work, and I've just been cooking. Come on in."
Makoto invited Usagi in and motioned for her to sit.

"No thanks, I just came to ask a favor." Usagi stood in the
entryway, not removing her shoes.

"Sure! What can I do for you?" Makoto remained stationary.

"I wanted to say if you ever speak to Mamoru, please don't tell
him where I live. Okay?" Usagi asked her eyes pleading
with Makoto.

"Of course! Is there anything else I can do for you?" Makoto
asked eagerly.

"Yeah, could you tell everyone else that too?" Usagi asked
walking back to the door again.

"All right. Do you know if you're pregnant yet?" Makoto asked.

"Not yet. I'll tell you when I do. Bye." Usagi said and
walked out the door.

"Bye!" Makoto called from the doorway.

Usagi walked back to her apartment and went to the computer to
play the Sailor V game Rei had given her. After she had gotten into
the game, the phone rang.

"Damnit! Who is it?" Usagi paused the game and walked to the phone.
She picked it up and said "Hello?"

A responding voice said, "Usagi? It's Kenji."

"Oh, hey." Usagi said sounding unenthusiastic.

"Hi. I was wondering if you wanted to go with me to the Carnival in
Osaka?" Kenji asked hopefully.

"Umm, sure, I guess." Usagi answered afraid of seeing Mamoru, but
then decided to go anyway. "When?" Usagi countered.

"How about tommorrow?" Kenji responded.

"Sure. How are we going to get down there?" Usagi asked hesitant,
thinking <I don't have the money to pay for a train ticket.>

"I was going to pick you up at, say 7am, then drive down there. It
wouldn't take too long, and we would have most of the day there. Is
that okay?" Kenji asked, hoping she wouldn't change her mind.

"Okay! That'll work fine! So I'll see you at 7 tommorrow?" Usagi asked,
happy to be doing something other than mulling around her apartment.

"Sure. But I sorta need to know where you live." Kenji stated.

"Oh yeah! Sorry. I live at 1-28-7 Takadanobaba #402 Shinjuku-ku. Okay?"
Usagi recited her new address easily.

"Great! I'll see you tommorrow!" Kenji and Usagi hung up at the same time.

Usagi walked back to her computer where her Sailor V game was on pause.
<I just hope we don't see Mamoru.> Usagi sat back down and un-paused the
game. All too soon her game was over and she realized how late it was.
<I should get some sleep for tommorrow.> Usagi set her alarm for 6, to be
able to be ready for Kenji.

Usagi woke up to her alarm in the morning and jumped into the shower. 30
minutes later, Serena walked out, her hair still partially wet as she walked
to the kitchen for a breakfast. Usagi finished getting ready for her day out,
and then Kenji knocked on her door. Usagi jumped when she heard the knock
and then walked to the door, purse in hand.

"Hey. You look great!" Kenji's praise surprised Usagi and she blushed.

"Thanks, you do too." Usagi responded.

Usagi locked her door, and then proceded to Kenji's car. It was a red Mazda
Miata. Kenji opened the door for Usagi and then went to his side and got in.

"Nice car. When'd you get it?" Usagi asked, curious.

"I got it in '93 from this doctor. He gave me a really good price on it."
Kenji responded.

"Oh. My husband sold a car, just like this one in '93. I wonder
if this is the same car." Usagi opened the glove compartment, and
looked at the left side, where she had inscribed: U+M forever.
Finding it on the side with her finger, she looked and it and shook
away the memory that followed. "Yep. This is the same car. Wow,
what a coincedence." Usagi shut the glove compartment and looked
over at Kenji, who seemed concentrated on driving.

Breaking the silence that followed Usagi's last remark, Kenji said,
"How long have you two been apart?"

"One, one and a half weeks. Why?" Usagi replied.

"Just wondering. I started seeing someone else only one week after
my divorce. The papers were barely final, and I couldn't wait to get
out of my shell. Any radio station you want to listen to?" Kenji offered.

"Sure, but I don't know if you'll like it." Usagi turned on the
radio to her favorite station.

"Hey, this is my favorite station too." Kenji said shaking his head
to the beat. The two drove the rest of the way in silence, except for
the music.

"We're here." Kenji spoke, snapping Usagi out of her trance. Kenji
had pulled up in the hospital parking lot, the closest parking spot
to the carnival. The carnival, Usagi belatedly recalled was being
held in the hospital parking lot, the night before the banquet. Both
events were sponsered by the hospital because of the new ER they were
getting.

"My summer house is not too far from here, so I come down here pretty
often." Kenji stated as he walked around to open Usagi's door. As
they walked towards the carnival Usagi was thinking, <Mamoru's probably
here, I'll have to be watching for him.>

"This is where my husband and I used to live. He still lives here."
Usagi replied.

"Isn't it pretty here though?" Kenji asked.

"Yeah."

"What do you want to do first?" Kenji asked, feeling the question
was rhetorical when Usagi started to pull him towards the dunking
pool.

"It looks like they're still looking for someone to go up there!
Would you do it?" Usagi asked using her puppy dog eyes.

"Only if I can get back down after one person, you." Kenji said.

"I'll ask! I'm sure you can!" Usagi ran after the owner. "I was
wondering if I could put my boyfriend up there, but he only wants
me to throw two rounds, then he wants to get down. Is that okay?"
Usagi said all in one breath.

"Sure, I guess." The man walked away, after his gruff response.

"Yeah! Okay Kenji, get up there!" Usagi commanded.

"Yes ma'am," Kenji said and saluted.

"You're so silly!" Usagi giggled. "You ready?" Usagi asked.

"Yup." Kenji said, getting comfortable on the seat. Little did he
know, that Usagi because of her scout training, had incredibly good
aim. Each of the three balls that Usagi threw hit the bulls eye and
Kenji was dunked three times. After getting out of the water the
third time, Kenji jumped off the chair and walked over to Usagi,
purposely shaking himself off right next to her.

"Hey! You got me wet!" Usagi said playfuly.

"Yeah? You dunked me three times! I think you wanted to get wet.
Why didn't you tell me you had such good aim?" Kenji asked slightly
irritated by the fact that he had been dunked thrice.

"You never asked!" Usagi responded, then hugged Kenji. "I'm sorry."
Usagi used her puppy dog eyes again.

"That's okay." Kenji hesitantly leaned down to Usagi's face and kissed
her softly. Kenji pulled away, and then looked away and apologized.
"I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me. I-" Kenji stopped and Usagi
continued.

"That's okay. I liked it. You've actually brought me out of my
shell. Thank you." Usagi said and blushed.

Kenji looked down at Usagi amazed. "Are-are you sure it's okay?"

"Yes. Now come on, we still have to see the rest of the carnival!"
Usagi ran, pulling Kenji behind her.

				MEANWHILE:

Mamoru walked around the carnival. Carnivals never had appealed to
him much. Of course, they had been more fun when Usagi was around,
but she wasn't, so he tried to push her memory away. He looked up
at the dunking pool to see a man just sitting down on the chair and
this girl, who looked strangely like Usagi he noted, threw three
balls and knocked the man each time. The girl turned around, and
Mamoru surprizedly realized that it was Usagi out there. The man
then leaned down and kissed Usagi. <HOW DARE HE!> Mamoru thought
before catching himself. <She's no longer your wife, so why do you
care?> Mamoru asked himself. But deep down in his heart he was
hurting for Usagi to come back to him. These were feelings not
even Mamoru was conciously aware of, but they were there no matter
how hidden.

Then this nurse ran up to Mamoru, scaring him. "Dr. Chiba! You're
needed in the ER. Someone with a serious injury has just come in!"

Mamoru at hearing this, pushed the picture of Usagi being kissed
away, and ran into the ER.

				  LATER:

The carnival was ending, it being the end of the night, and Usagi
skipped happily towards Kenji's car with a bag of cotton candy.
Kenji and Usagi had decided that because it would take too long to
get back to Tokyo, they would stay at Kenji's summer house. Usagi
thought happily, <Mamoru must not have had time to see the carnival.
He's always caught up in his work.>

"I can't wait to see your house Kenji!" she and Kenji had decided to
just be dating and go from there. Usagi then realized she had the
letter for Mamoru in her purse. "Hey Kenji, would you mind stopping
by my ex's house? I need to drop something off." Usagi asked sweetly.

"Sure." Kenji agreed. Usagi gave him directions, then
jumped out quickly.

Usagi rang the doorbell to be greeted by Isabelle.

"Miss Usagi! Why are you here?" Isabelle was certainly
surprised to see Mr. Chiba's ex-wife appear again.

"Hello Isabelle." Usagi greeted her warmly. "I just wanted
to drop this by for Mamoru. And please don't tell him I
dropped it off. Just tell him it was left here. Okay?" Usagi
requested.

"All right, but I don't think Mr. Chiba will be too happy to
hear from you again. The day you left, he gave me everything
you left here. Are you sure you don't want it? It's all worth
so much!" Isabelle queried.

"No, I'm much happier that you have it. Well, bye!" Usagi
said, then left, running to the car.

"Who was that?" Kenji asked.

"Oh that was just Mamoru's maid. I really don't understand
why he wanted a maid. I mean, all I did was stay at home,
but he insisted. And he, he's hardly home at all, to care
about his house. I'm sorry for blabbling on and on, but it
just frustrates me." Usagi apologized.

"It's okay. We're here." Kenji stated.

"Wow! It's beautiful!" Usagi exclaimed.

"Yeah. That's what I think too. How about we go inside,
and I can give you the grand tour." Kenji got out of the
car, and escorted Usagi up to the house. He unlocked the
door, and Usagi gasped. It was beautiful! The chandelier
in the center of the room lit everything up beautifully.
The room they were in now was the center room and there
were two staircases on each side of the room leading to
the upstairs. Kenji took Usagi's coat and hung it up in
the closet which was in the front hallway. Kenji then
led Usagi up the stairs to a hallway, which led to the
master bedroom, which had a king size bed, and an
adjoining bathroom. Kenji then led Usagi around to the
other bedrooms, and then took her back downstairs. The
main room had a wall of windows looking out into the sunset.
Kenji then took Usagi to the kitchen, and asked her, "Do you
want anything to eat?"

"I don't know. I ate quite a bit at the carnival, so not
really." Usagi replied. Over the years, Usagi had been
able to control her eating.

"All right. I'm just going to fix myself a sandwitch,
so if you want to go watch TV you're welcome to." Kenji
said pulling out bread and other food items.

"Okay." Usagi walked out of the room to the master
bedroom where the TV was. She sat down and turned on
the TV. She ended up just flipping channels, wondering
if she was pregnant. <If I am, I really need to tell
Kenji. If I'm not though, I'll feel stupid, and Kenji
might not want me here. Oh what do I do?> Usagi thought
confusedly.

Kenji walked into the room to find Usagi lying on the
bed asleep, with the nine o'clock news on. Kenji, deciding
not to disturb Usagi, sat down at the end of the bed and
watched the news while eating his sandwitch. <She sure is
a nice girl. Has a good aim too. Wouldn't it be too bad
if she just disappeared!> Kenji reveled in his thoughts
as he sipped some wine he had brought up.

Usagi dreamt that she was in some sort of iceland with her
child, Mamoru, and all five scouts. Her hair was white,
and her head held her crown bearing the ginzouishou. She
and Mamoru were both dressed in their royal outfits, Usagi
in her Queen gown, Mamoru in his Kings suit. Then all of a
sudden King Endymion took the child from Neo-Queen Serenity's
arms, and she raised her arms above her head. With the ginzouishou
she warmed the land up and made the people alive again. Usagi took
her child back from King Endymion and snuggled in his arms.

Then the lands turned dark and lightning flashed in the sky.
All of the scouts, King Endymion, and her child disappeared.
Usagi then realized she was dreaming the future. <Is this what
will happen to us?> Usagi worried frantically about her friends
and family. All of a sudden someone was shaking her lightly,
and Usagi woke up, a worried look marring her features.

Kenji shook Usagi lightly hoping to wake her up. When she finally
woke up with a worried look on her face, Kenji said worriedly,
"Are you all right? Were you having a bad dream, or is something
really wrong?"

Usagi looked up at Kenji, then responded, "Just a bad dream. Do
you want me to leave so you can go to bed?"

"What? Oh no. I was going to let you sleep here, if you wanted
to." he replied.

"Well since it's your house, I think you should sleep in your
bed." Usagi argued.

"If you really don't want to lay here you could just tell me."
Kenji said jokingly. <It won't matter that much where you sleep,>
Kenji thought evily.

"No, it's not that, I just wanted to make sure you didn't want
it." Usagi said dejectedly.

"I was going to sit and watch TV for awhile. You can go back
to sleep if you want." Kenji commented.

"Nah, I'll just sit and watch with you." Usagi looked at Kenji
and smiled. He smiled back.

Kenji and Usagi sat watching the news until it was over and Kenji
said, "Do you want to watch a movie on cable?"

"Okay." Usagi agreed.

Usagi leaned back on Kenji's chest as he turned on a movie. During
the movie, Usagi and Kenji would occasionally look at each other.
Finally Usagi lifted her head up and kissed Kenji. Kenji although
surprised deepened the kiss, and when Usagi pulled away she blushed.
"Hope you didn't mind." she said timidly.

Kenji looked down, smiled and said, "Not if you don't mind this."
Kenji leaned down and kissed Usagi deeply. Usagi reveled in the
moment. She remembered back to the times when she and Mamoru were
still in love. They would be lying in bed, just like this, Usagi
thought, and then she'd look in his eyes and see the love there.
<Why couldn't he love me anymore?> Usagi thought painfully. Coming
back to her senses, Usagi realized that Kenji was no longer just
kissing her. He was trying to make a move on her! Usagi pulled
away, but Kenji wouldn't let go.

"Kenji," she muttered into his lips, "Kenji, I don't want to do
this!" Usagi cried.

Kenji finally pulled away and looked down into Usagi's eyes. Usagi
looked into Kenji's eyes accusingly and said, "What were you doing?"

"Didn't you like it?" he asked pitifully.

"Well, not what came after the kiss. Kenji we've only known each
other two days. I don't think I'm ready for this. You don't even
know hardly anything about me!" Usagi replied.

"Like what? What do you think I need to know about you? If you don't
want this, then I think we're unclear in what this relationship is
about." Kenji stated firmly.

"Such as where I was born, what I do for a living, how old I am. For
heaven sakes you don't even know if I've had kids, or if I'm going to!
And I agree, I don't think we're clear on what this relationship is
about. I just got divorced and I'm trying to get over it!" Usagi said
back.

"Well? Are you going to have kids? Is that why you brought that up?"
Kenji looked into Usagi's eyes accusingly.

"I don't know yet. And yes, that is why I brought that up." Usagi
hunched back on the edge of the bed, eyes down on her knees, which
were brought up to her chest.

Kenji, seeing that Usagi was feeling uncomfortable and upset around
him responded, "I'm sorry. Did he do it on purpose?" Kenji pulled Usagi
in his arms, against her will.

"Did who do what on purpose?" Usagi queried.

"Your ex. Get you pregnant."

"Oh. No. I don't think so anyway. He doesn't even know that I might be
pregnant, and I didn't want a child growing up in that house." Usagi said,
feeling more comfortable with Kenji.

"Oh. So how about we get to know each other? You start." Kenji suggested.

"Um, okay. I'm living in a little apartment in Tokyo, just moved there
from Osaka, and that's where my friends and family live. I work for the
newspapers and magazines, writing articles and such, and I also write
romance stories as a hobby. I'm 30 years old and my birthday is this
June on the 30th. Now you." Usagi prompted Kenji.

"Well, I also live in Tokyo, but I've also lived in Kyoto, to make
my commute to this house quicker. I work as a deejay at a radio station,
but I'm on vacation right now." Kenji was about to continue, when Usagi
interupted.

"You're *that* Terada Kenji?!" Usagi said in disbelief.

"Yeah," Kenji said laid back. "You didn't recognize my voice?" he said
jokingly.

"Well, you sounded familiar." Usagi said sheepishly.

"Anything else you want to know?" Kenji asked.

"Well I guess I just want to know, why'd you choose radio?"

"I don't know. I'd wanted to be a deejay since college, and they decided
I was good enough." Kenji replied.

"Oh. Could I use one of your phones?" she asked Kenji sweetly.

"Uh, not really. The phone line has been cut." Kenji said. "Sorry."

"That's okay. It's not your fault. Is it?" Usagi asked while giving
Kenji a strange look.

"No. Why would it be my fault? Don't worry, I don't have a criminal
record."

"Thank God. Me neither. Sorry for accusing you, but I needed to
know." Usagi apoligized, then turned her attention back to the
television.

<Bitch. Just wants everything. Well I hope you have everything you want.
Thank God she doesn't know I was fired. Must not have been listening
lately. Oh well. She won't be able to after I'm through with her. Won't
be able to use the phones either.> Kenji sat back to watch the movie as
well, only stopping to think.

By the time the movie was over Usagi had fallen asleep, just like Kenji
had planned.

				TO BE CONTINUED...

Well? What did you think? I forgot that I also changed the names, but
I didn't think it mattered much. Now that I think about it, the English
names probably sound better, but oh well! I didn't get this edited so
sorry for any mistakes! Whatever does Kenji have planned?
Thanks for reading! Queen Morgana. ^_~
