<<<<Notes>>>>
For those of you who aren't
acquainted with me my name is P-120.
You can find my other fics showcased at
 my web site located here:
 www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/Set/8812/sailor.html

I've read various fics about Serena and Darien married,
and then breaking up, and that's what this is about, er,
essentially it is. ^_^ This idea isn't mine, I adapted it
from Tif's fic "Miracles Do Happen" (read this, it's great!
And trust me I wouldn't lie) Anyway, it's not the
same as hers, it's different I just borrowed the
married idea. Note: Tif has read this fic, I
have her permission to use the idea. Tif is a
great alternate time line author, read her work!
Check out her fics at:
www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Ginza/4444/

In addition, while I am thinking about it.
*Bunny, when's the next chapter of "On the Run"
 coming out? Hmm?
You should visit her page too.

<<<<End Notes>>>>

Darien walked into the house, his wife sat at her
computer writing something. She was always writing something
at her computer. She had several of them, two desktops,
and a personal notebook, or a laptop. He never paid much
attention to her writing when he was home, which wasn't often
. He spent most of his time at the hospital, a half-hour
away. When it was too late to drive he'd sleep in the doctor's
faculty room at the hospital and then go back to work in a few
hours. Sometimes it was weeks before he saw his house again.
Darien Chiba was a doctor at John Hopkins in Japan.
Specifically he was E.M.D most of the time, a doctor that
worked in the emergency room, but he had also been
skilled in other areas, so he always had patients. He had
been married to Serena Tsukino, his first love, for ten
years. He would be turning thirty-six years old this year,
his wife, would be thirty-one. Having married young,
they had had a rocky start, but Darien became a successful
doctor a few years down the road. The more successful
he was, the less time he spent at home.
Serena Chiba, Darien's wife was not content
to sit at home in the large house alone. She hated it.
When Darien wasn't home she sat in front of her
computer and wrote stories, but they were more of
fantasies for Serena. Of a life she couldn't and
wouldn't have because it wasn't possible.
It was no use trying to deny the fact they were
both unhappy. The last time she had seen
Darien had been well over 5 weeks ago. And now
he was returning, she had heard the door open
and close. But these days she didn't even bother
to get up or greet him at the door.
Darien walked past his wife in the
computer room and down the hall to his study,
where he would remain for the
rest of the night, or at least until dinner.
Serena remained stationary, her deft fingers still
typing the words of her latest toil in the fantasy world of her
imagination. She wouldn't have to cook until at least an
hour from the present time, but she kept her keen eye on
the little clock on the right hand of the computer monitor.
When it read 6:00 p.m. she stood up from her computer,
saved the file and walked down the silent corridor to
Darien's study.
She knocked lightly on the door.
" Come in," he said, knowing she was
 here about dinner.
" Do you want something to eat? "
His eyes flickered to her at the doorway.
" You're making dinner?" he asked.
" If you're not hungry, I'm not going to
 bother with it,"
" No, you don't have to. I ate on the
way home," he said turning his eyes back to the
paper he was reading. " Are you coming
to the Hospital Banquet?" he asked her before
she closed the door.
" Darien, you and I both know I'm not
going to be a doctor's wife anymore.." she said
quietly. " I'll be leaving tomorrow
morning," she said and closed the door softly.
He looked up, relieved he didn't have
to tell her he wanted a divorce. She already
knew. Heaving a sigh, he began to read
again the file in his hands.

The next morning when Darien awoke,
he expected to see things missing that he once
was used to. Instead, everything remained where
it was. Nothing was out of place. He thought for
sure that Serena would have moved her things
from the bedroom. Nevertheless, she had not.
Her jewelry box still sat on the dresser
, her perfume bottles and make-up. Sitting up her
looked around, the only thing missing was Serena.
He slipped out of bed, throwing a shirt over his head
and walking downstairs in his boxers, he
began to search for Serena. He found her in the
kitchen, gathering computer disks. He looked at
her for a moment before
 saying," What are you doing?"
" Gathering my things." she said packing up more
disks and cords. She'd paid for those computers by herself,
without his money, they belonged to her. He watched as a
car pulled up into the driveway, driven by a blonde haired
 woman he recognized.
" Hey Mina!" Serena called as the woman stepped
inside the house she and Serena hugged.
" I'm so glad you called. We've all missed
you so much! Being so far from us"
" Yeah, I know. But it's only 4 or so hours."
Serena said.
" Still typing away? How's that going?" Mina
asked as the two disappeared out the door chattering
and carrying a monitor, which was now boxed. He
didn't imagine Serena had slept at all last night.
He looked around; she didn't seem to have
anything packed up, not really. There were 4
suitcases with her clothes, her computers, her
shoes and a boxlabeled 'memorables'. He
could only wonder what was in that.
Darien left the kitchen to go get
dressed, when he came downstairs, Serena
went upstairs and collected all the jewelry that
Darien hadn't bought her and placed it in a
small velvet bag. She grabbed a couple perfumes,
her favorites, and left the rest. Walking back
downstairs, Darien was dressed in jeans
and a T-shirt. Serena walked past him and handed
Mina the velvet bag. She turned back to where Darien
stood, slipping off her engagement ring and wedding
band she laid them next to his coffee mug
 along with her house keys.
" Anything I left, throw away, sell, I don't care
what you do with it," With that, she silently left
the house, closing the storm door
 behind her.
Darien looked down at the set of rings
and picked them up. He slipped them both halfway
onto his pinkie finger and walked away from the
 windows, not bothering to look
back at his departing wife.
*******
Mina saw the tears in her friend's eyes.
"I can't believe you and Darien are breaking up.
It's so unbelievable, the perfect couple."
A tear escaped her eye as she spoke brokenly,
"Yeah well, nothing lasts forever."
" Are you okay Serena? Where are you
going to live? What are you going to do?" Mina
asked her friend as they started the drive back
to Tokyo where all her family lived.
"I'm going to continue writing. Maybe
I'll hit it big. Until then, I can survive on my
writing. I write for newspapers, magazines,
books, everything. I can afford a one bedroom
apartment, and that's all I need for now, but it won't last,"
"What do you mean?" Mina asked concerned and
 not quite sure she understood.
	"Mina I think I'm pregnant,"
	"WHAT?! Serena! Does Darien know?"
	She shook her head 'no'.
 "Oh goodness. This isn't good,"
"You're telling me. That is why I am
leaving. I can't have my child growing up in a
household where his parents don't even pretend
to love each other. And besides, if I had waited
he'd have divorced me and it's already hard enough."
"This is awful Serena, just awful. Well you've
got us, the Scouts. We'll always be here for you,"
Mina said with a smile. " Can we help you pick out
 your apartment?"
"Sure," Serena said with a smile, temporarily forgetting
her heartache.
*******
"Hey guys. Look who's here!" Mina said as
she approached the Cherry Hill Temple doors.
"Serena!" the 3 women ran and hugged Serena.
Mina knowing they would be here stopped
by with Serena so everyone could say hello.
"Wow. When did you get here?
Where's Darien?" Amy asked.
"Well." Serena said sadly, that's when the
other ladies noticed her tear stained face.
	"Serena, what happened?"
"We... Well Mina?" she looked at her friend.
"Serena and Darien are getting a divorce,"
"WHAT?! " they all shrieked. " Why?"
	"Problems,"
"That's no reason for a divorce, every couple
has problems," Rei said.
"I don't want the divorce, Darien does. But I wasn't
going to stick around and wait for it," she said sadly.
"Hey Amy, can you do a test on Serena to tell if she's
 pregnant?" Mina asked.
"Oh, almost forgot about that. I suspect." Serena
 trailed off.
	"Does Darien know?" Lita asked.
	"No,"
"Sure, I can do a blood test at the hospital when
you are ready, come see me," Amy said.
"Okay. I'd love to say, but I have to find somewhere
to live right now...I'll see you guys later," Serena said
 as her and Mina left.
"Hey wait! I want to come!" Rei said running
toward Mina's Honda.
	"Me too!" said Lita.
"Hey what about me?! " Amy called running
 after them.
*******
Darien looked about the house. There were
reminders of her everywhere. The figurines she
had purchased at a flea market when they
had gone on vacation. A Valentine's card,
dusty, but present sat on the mantle over the fireplace.
An old watch, one that he had bought her for
Christmas a few years back that he was
going to have fixed he turned away
 coldly from these things.
	"Isabelle!" he called.
A older woman came down the stairs.
 "Yes Sir?"
"Get rid of all my wife's things. Anything you want
take it. Everything else, get rid of,"
"Yes Sir," she said and began to collect her things.
As he walked out the door heading for his lawyer's office.
******
"Wow Serena, I like this one!" Lita said.
"Yeah. If any new enemies come you'll see them
for sure, and then you can warn us," Rei said with a smile.
"I don't think there will be anymore enemies.
Not after Galaxia, the Negaverse has been
destroyed." Serena said.
"Yeah, but think about it. What if someone else
*did* come? Are we prepared for that?" Rei asked,
causing them all to sit in a silence for a moment, considering the idea.
"We should call a Scout meeting about that later,"
Amy said. " You know, just in case, I mean Serena isn't
Queen yet, but we are still her guardians. We need to
be prepared to defend her rule as queen,"
"You're right. But at this rate, Crystal Tokyo
is going to exist and be ruled by Queen Serenity only," Mina
said and they all looked down.
"Ahh. Ladies Have you decided?" the man
who had let them see the apartment walked in the room.
	"I'll take it,"
"Nice choice, this penthouse apartment is
a very popular trend these days."
*******
Darien walked into his office after meeting
with his lawyer. The divorce papers were being
drawn up as soon as possible. His personal nurse
sat on the edge of the desk. Her white skirt high up
upon her thigh, and she wore a sweet smile.
Her make-up and clothes perfect, she waited
for a response from the gorgeous doctor she worked with.
	"Hello Dr. Chiba,"
	"Good morning Andrea,"
"Are you feeling all right? You look... upset?"
"My wife and I separated this morning," he said
sitting down at his desk, putting his briefcase on the
desktop and removing the files he had been working on
the night before.
"That's terrible Sir." She smiled maliciously.
"If there's anything I can do." she left the statement hanging
and likewise he looked up to see her leaning over him.
The neckline on her uniform low showing a little more
cleavage than was decent in a hospital environment.
His eyes traveled upward to her face and he
grinned. "Maybe... but not now," he said crisply looking
back down at the file. "Until then... you have work to do,"
She slid off the desk and walked out of the
office to prepare. Today was the same as any other,
boring unfruitful days. Lots of patients, lots of work
*******
Serena quickly glanced about her bare apartment.
She would have to buy some furniture, and soon. Mina had
brought over a wing-backed chair, light blue with pink flowers
on it. Amy had found an end table that she thought could be
of use to Serena. Rei had given her an old sailor v game to
play if she got bored and a cot so she didn't have to sleep on
the bare floor. Lita said Serena could take anything she
wanted from her house but since they were so close
to each other in vicinity, Serena could just go over
to Lita's anytime to relax! Er, at least whenever
Ken wasn't home. She disliked barging in on their
privacy and had resolved never to do it again
before she left Tokyo. Now she was back she
 decided to keep the promise.
Ken, Lita's husband was a traveling
architect, an architect for his company that did
jobs all over Japan. He wasn't always home and
when he wasn't Lita was very lonely, and was
extremely happy that Serena had returned. After
Serena had moved from Tokyo the girls had drifted
apart having nothing really to hold them together.
They were there to protect the Princess, and
with the Princess gone, there was no purpose
for them to meet. They called each other
sometimes, rarely so. The day Mina had
brought Serena home they had gotten together
to see how everyone was doing, but mostly
ended up discussing Serena. And wondering
how she was, and if she was coming home and when?
Amy herself got married, a couple years
after Serena. Greg, the genius who predicted his
becoming a Negaverse Shadow warrior and had
a crush on Amy was her chosen husband. The two
of them were moderately wealthy. Between Amy's
money as a doctor and Greg's as a CEO of a textile
 company they did well.
Rei had actually chosen to settle down
with Chad, the Temple 'guest'. Despite his family's
wealth the two very rarely left the Temple for the
grand house that belonged to Chad. They both
seemed content with each other and running the Temple.
Mina on the other hand was completely
single. She like a few of the others had a crush
on Andrew. Unfortunately Fate's hand wasn't the
kindness to him. A wild beast killed his wife of
7 years, Rita when conducting an archeological
study in Africa. They sent her body home to him,
and he'd been grieving ever since. They
had taken place a little more than a year now.
He showed no real interest in any other female,
except for Mina and that was solely
on the purpose of friendship. But she hoped one
day, if he got over her, that he'd love her.
But she didn't push the fantasy too far,
or raise her hopes that high. The higher the
pedestal her hopes were on, the harder the
landing would be when they crashed to
the ground, splintering to pieces before her.
Because of the peace in Japan, the
ladies had never had to tell their husbands
about being Sailor Scouts. Until the day,
Serena became Queen, or close to the time, they
would keep quiet.

Looking about at the boxes, she got a brainstorm!
Her computers! She rushed toward the boxes and began
looking through the few of them that were there for her laptop
She had inspiration, she needed to write lest she would
be mauled to death by boredom.
She found it quickly and began to type
rapidly once she plugged in the power cord and
inserted her disk. A blank screen popped up and
she began writing. Several hours later,
she had finished a short story romance story between two
young lovers. She titled it: "Michael and Marie." She sighed
deeply; she missed Darien. She did not miss him anymor
than she would at home, but there, there at least she
was 'home'. But she chided herself reminding her this was
her home now. 'Her' home, on that she got on her own
She prevented herself from crying. There was
no feeling in the world like being rejected from the one you
love more than life but Serena had conceded and given
into his will for divorce. If he would be happy without her,
she thought, as much as it pained her, so be it. Maybe
she too could find happiness in someone else. However,
the chance at finding love for someone like the love she
 felt for Darien, was unlikely.

A.N. Hello. I don't have much to say about anything here
The story "Michael and Marie," is an actual short story by
 me, which I never finished.
	Until next time I guess
