Yeah, I'm back. Omission, as ever, implies nothing about my opinion
concerning a work.

  From:
        LunaHNeko@aol.com

Description: Fusion of Tenchi Muyo and Oh My Goddess.

Comments: Treads a little too much on a path already trod. I mean,
sure they're "goddesses", but they are goddesses who are pretty much
much indistinguishable from the aliens in the original.

[FFML] [Fanfic][Pokemon][Revised] Pokemon Master Part 1

        Sat, 4 Sep 1999 12:54:45 +1000
  From:
        "Ace Sanchez" <jsa@fl.net.au>

Description: Dark and gritty version of the Pokemon universe featuring
mayhem and catastrophe.

Comments: Pretty good actually, even if it does spit in the face of
canonical Pokemon. That should probably be a stab of fear, and not a
slab of fear in the rapist's heart.

    From:
         Lord Archive <archive@mich.com>

Description: Unusual continuation fic which deals with the next year of
school. For some reason a huge number of the characters appearing in
Ranma, including people who should have graduated, have been packed into
Ranma and Akane's class.

Comments: I have trouble believing that Ryoga wouldn't rush to the
rescue of an Akane facing two opponents. The twins are a good pair of
characters, though.

  From:
        Twoflower <twoflowr@ikkoku.maison-otaku.net>

Description: Mega-crossover with a WWF format.

Comments: Why didn't Bill Gates bid? Or was he the seller? I'm a
little dubious about Ranma clocking Dan right before he's going to fight
to save the universe. Ranma's dumb, but is he that dumb? Still, this
episode had the nerve to take some risks, and it worked well for the
most part.

[FFML] fic, x-over [Rnama, Tenchi, X]

  From:
        "Jeremy Evans" <ianmakabe@HOTMAIL.COM>

Description: Rather aimless story about characters from the respective
series meeting.

Comments: What, doesn't anyone put the title in the subject line any
more? Very awkward combination of script and prose. The author
repeatedly loses track of whether he is writing in present or past
tense, has a fair number of spelling errors, and has no discernable
plot. He appears to be just tossing characters and elements together
with no coherent plan.

  From:
        "Mark Belcourt" <sukyandaru@furinkanhigh.com>

Description: Akane points out that Ranma isn't as resistant to his
"femininity" as he was when he arrived.

Comments: Sort of like "Waiting For Godot With A Mallet". Not
line-wrapped, but fortunately all of its paragraphs are one line long.

  From:
        Freemage <freemage@yahoo.com>

Description: Ranma's problems are all caused by the Illuminati. This
episode, Ranma and Akane get closer, and so do Nabiki and Ryouga.

Comments: Isn't it about time that somebody buried that panda hide?

She resisted the urge to throttle the bandannaed boy. "You
mean to tell me that this abandoned doctor's office is somewhere
between those two points?!"

Ryouga: Isn't everything?

Not a bad series, but I hope the author is giving some consideration to
how he is going to wrap things up.

[FFML] (R1/2)(Star Trek)(crossover) Ranma of BORG

  From:
        "James Barnhill" <c319remreadaptin@HOTMAIL.COM>

Description: Rocketed to Earth as a small child and adopted by Genma
Saotome, Ranma seeks to use his super-powers to protect truth, justice
and the Ja--oops, cancel that. Wrong aliens. Instead Ranma is a
combination of Borg and Species 47something genes, targeted by the Borg
for assimilation, unless Janeway and Picard can save him, or something.

Comments: Rife with spelling errors notably including "theyre" instead
of "their". Starts with irritating Ranma fanfiction cliches. Janeway
retains her distinctive brand of command ineptitude, ordering Seven to
get a job done in half the estimate of required time and then scolding
her for being brusk in the process. It would be more effective if Seven
were to say "Infant (Number) contains genetic material taken from me"
rather than "Infant (Number) is my son". She might feel a degree of
maternal concern but she hasn't been socialised into human concepts of
family.

  From:

Description: Unconventional Belmont decides to befriend Dracula instead
of killing him and persuades Dracula to try to be a nice guy. However
everyone else still wants Drac dead.

Comments: A few spelling errors. Nothing too serious. So is Dracula
going to live on cow from now on?

  From:
        Kai Yamazaki <NC015136@newcollege.co.uk>

Description: One of several Red Dwarf fusions. In this one Kuno takes
over Rimmer's role and helps keep Kodachi in line.

Comments: Who is going to keep Asuza in line? Where is Ryoga's maudlin
self-pity?

[FFML] [Ranma][Fanfic]Who am I:chap1 Meet Joe Black
  Date:
        Thu, 2 Sep 1999 23:01:30 EDT
  From:
        JDVann1998@aol.com

Description: One of those "Westerner is inserted into Furinkan" fics.

Comments: First of all, a "Weapons Master" is a martial artist.
Martial arts are not restricted to Eastern forms. Ask any practitioner
of savate or capoeira. Nabiki's statement that he is definitely not
a martial artist based on his truck makes no sense. Why is Furinkan
teaching its students to be assassins? Given that this character
is not a personification of the concept of death, why is he named "Joe
Black"?
