Greetings from the Nexus! It's the first of the month (and nine days from
the anniversary of the day I was born! YAY!!!!), so I decided to get this
out of the way.
1.Most of the fics are on track again, mostly. Feel free to yell at me for
motivation. Look for the following within the month:
Two oneshot Sailor Moon fics (or at least one)
A teaser or two
Ch 3 to Homemade Viagra
Ch 1 to Children of the Forge
Ch 2 to Cruel Angel's Test
Ch 1 to The Obnoxious Otaku (don't quote me on this)
2. Prereaders and anyone with a good basic knowledge of the cities and towns
in Slayers is begged to contact me. I also need advise on how to write a
dark fic rather smoothly. Applicant is welcomed on as a co-author or
prereader. They must if not be able to at least deal with things as dark as
ThatSasamiFicWhoseNameIWillNotMention, then at least a tentacle lemon or
Together Again (I'm still reading Mr. Davies).
3.I am on my merry way to Anime Weekend Atlanta 99 (hopefully as Tuxedo
Kamen), and was wondering if A. anyone else was going and B. If you needed
any help around Atlanta or with reservations. I can forward rates to the
main hotel, as well as look up several more that would be suitable. Hope to
see you there!
4. An Obnoxious Otaku teaser. Not too big, just an explination of what he's

As far as I've seen fanfics go, there all pretty good. Despite the lack of
original concept of character, they are a joy to read. Of course, as with
everything else, there is a flip side to them. Some would quickly accuse
the bad side of fanfiction as lemons, or darkfics. Biased fics are especially
known to catch a good amount of heat in the eternal evil that is bad fanfiction.
However, I am an open individual, and would gladly read any of them for if
nothing else, perhaps a chuckle or two. But even I have my limits of what to
cross.
"It will be a cold day in hell when I am so utterly disgusted with a fanfic,
that I will stop reading and secretly dream of the authors demise." That is
I used to think before I ran into my first hated reading material: self-insertions.
I'll never comprehend why some people dare to cross that line, and will
handle most of it in stride. In fact, there are several that have had great
quality in them. It was the rest of the dribble that was the problem.
"Here comes the High and Mighty Otaku to save the day, send a few antagonist
to fanfic hell, and give the hero a well deserved break, with plenty of
unnecessary sex and back patting on the side." "Once again, self insertion
dork squire supreme saves the day after kicking the gutless hero out, flirting
with a few of his co-characters, telling the villain and henchmen what to
do with themselves, and having a beer." It bugs me to no end of sanity to
allow this continued abuse of plot, theme, and overall story to pass my
irises. A good story should have a struggle for resolution, not a quick
fix-it-and-smile placement pasted on there to satisfy the author's battered
ego!
This is where I come in. I'm Maxwell Bradley, and I'm going to fight fire
with fire. The protagonist will get his happy ending allright, but not without
a fight. I'm pissed, I'm short-tempered, and I have stationary.
The Obnoxious Otaku
First target: Shin Seiki Evangelion (Shinji and Unit 01 are seen sweatdropping
in the background)
Okay, first of all, he's not invincible. Every time my prereaders or I feel
that he's getting too big for himself, he will be knocked down. He will
be able to defend himself against even Super Sayians and Eva Units. My main
target will Eva for now, but I'm doing my best to expand my knowledge for
anything else. Well, seeya at the premiere!
