I don't believe that consistent rules can be applied to this effect.
For example, I doubt that Kasumi is really a closet Wolverine fan.  
She probably just turned into Wolverine because she happened to be
cutting meat at the moment of the transformation.  However, one explanation
could be that changing a pig into a talking cat is already a big enough
change.  What I want to know is, what happens if someone pours hot water
on Luna-P?
