A while back Trakal wrote a fic where Ryouga's infamous anti-directional skills did him in, when he got lost in a blizzard.  I'm not big on the morbid stuff, however, I found this story very easy add on to.  In my case, changing it into a comedy.  

Since I've been on the list I haven't seen any real ghost stories.  There have been plenty of stories that had villians that are evil spirits, but there's a difference between that and a real ghost story.  That's why, with Trakal's permission, I decided to put this together from her original idea.

When it comes down to ghost stories, you basicly have someone that died but could not cross over into the next side until they finished all their unfinished business.  Ryouga would be a perfect canidate for such a situation.  He has not beat Ranma, his sworn rival, in a fair fight. (The Tattoo fights don't count)  He never got the chance to tell Akane how he felt about her.  Finally, if you read Trakal's fic you would have noticed she highlighted how Ryouga's death affected Ukyo.  That is a subject that can be exploited to the extreme.  There have been several episodes where the two of them were together trying to break Ranma and Akane up.  In all that time, they very well could have grew closer together without them noticing.

Well that's enough explaing, it's time that I just throw the fic at you.  It picks up right where Trakal's fic leaves off.  Enjoy...

The Haunting 



Ryouga looked around as his mind tried to accept what he had just seen.  The voice that called his attention spoke again.  He looked toward it's direction and was surprised by the blinding light that was growing larger and larger before him.  He covered his eyes with his forearm as something began to descend from the light. 

"Ryougo Habiki...  Your time has come, I will guide you to your finally destination," said the voice.  

Ryouga slowly moved his arm and looked at the person that was coming out of the light.  He still could not make it out, but it appeared to be a lady.  She had her hand out stretched and was gently floating forward.  Ryouga's heart began to beat faster as her face had cleared enough of the light to be seen.  

"Ryouga come with....  Whoops!" yelled the lady as she toppled forward.  

Ryouga ran up and caught her.  "Hey are you okay?" he said as he noticed that she was a lot shorter than he thought.  In fact, he noticed that her feet were not touching the ground as he held her up.  With a little uncertainty, he looked upwarded at her face and noticed that she was a kid.  

"Who are you?"

"Sorry, I'm Skuld.  I usually don't do this, but I'm filling in for my sister Belldandy.  She's out having a great time with that jerk boyfriend of her's.  Unfortunately, I think I've ruined the dramatic affect. At least I can take these stupid hieght extenders off."

"Hieght extenders...  Wait a sec!  What's going on.  I just saw myself on the ground and everyone is actting like they can't here me."

Ryouga put the little girl down on her feet and turned around.  Skuld snapped her fingers and Belldandy's dress disappeared off oh her; allowing her tradmark overalls to show.  She walked up behind Ryouga and tapped him on the shoulder.  When Ryouga turned around and saw a huge mallet about to hit him in the face.  He was barely able to move out of its way.

"HEY!!!  What are you trying to do?!  Kill me!!!"

"Don't be stupid...  You're already dead DUMMY!  Look, I have to take you over to the other side and I don't want to take all day doing this.  Now either stand still so I can knock you out, or come with me peacefully."

"DEAD!!!  I'm not dead!"

"Oh...  Then what do you call it.  You just saw your body, no one can hear or see you, and you just saw the big light.  Don't you know anything, you're supposed to go into the light you moron.  Now let's just go, I have problems of my own right now.  I still have some bugs I need to get out of the main system."

"I'm dead...  But...  I can't be dead.  It's not fair, I never got a chance to tell Akane how I feel.  I never got a chance to tell U-chan bye and...  and...  I NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO KICK RANMA'S BUTT IN A FAIR FIGHT!"

"That's just tooooo bad.  I see this isn't going to be easy, look I have an invoice for you right here...  I mean here...  wait...  WHERE IS IT?"

"Where's wait?"

"Your paperwork.  Great now I've lost your invoice slip, I guess I have to do it again we get to the other side.  Thank goodness I have it saved on my computer.  Hm...  Anyway, for the last time STAND STILL!"

Skuld jumped into the air and quickly shot back down with her mallet centered in on Ryouga.  "This is for your own good.  Trust me," she said as her mallet was just about to make contact with his head.  

An usual occurance happened.  It passed clean through him.  Both Ryouga and Skuld looked in amazement at what had happened.

"What the...   Hold on," said Skuld as she quickly pulled out a small portable computer from her bag.  Her eyes wavered quickly over the information that was on the screen.

"What is it?"

"I can't believe this.  Your status has been changed from Lost Soul to Ghost, because of your unfinished business.  My mallet was set for Lost Soul.  Why does this have to be so hard."

"What's happening?"

"Your statue changed, seeing that the contract that I had; said to retrieve Ryouko Habiki status Lost Soul and you're now classified as a Ghost, it is null inviod."

"That means I get to live again."

Skuld looked at him and placed her hand on her face as she shook her head.  "You can't be that stupid?" she said as she sighed out.  

"Hey!"

"Look dummy, this means you have to settle your unfinished business before you can move on.  It also means a truckload of paperwork for me.  Thanks for nothing."

"Settle my unfinished business.  That means I still have a chance."

"Hold your horses, there are some rules you have to know first.  

1. You are invisible to everyone except animals. 
   However, someone may see you due to the 
   extreme emotions they have for you.
2. You can take the form of an animal if you need to be
   seen by someone, but not in your human form
3. You can only touch or moving something if you know 
   how to channel all of your emotions into it.
4. Possesing something or someone can take a lot of 
   energy from you.  
5. If you need to get somewhere or find someone, just
   think about it or them and you'll be teleported
   there.

Now that you know the formalities.  Try to get that business taken care of quickly.  I have to finish my other tasks so I'll leave you here.  You won't be able to get to the other side until your status changes back to Lost Soul."

Skuld closed up here laptop and stuffed it back in her bag.  She then headed back toward the light and entered it.  Ryouga watched her as the light began to dwindle down and both her and the light faded completely away.  At that point he was still in a small state of shock.  He dropped down into a sitting position on the ground and began to think about his situation.  However, his mind wondered a little on Akane.  In the blink of an eye he found himself sitting on the floor of Akane's bedroom as she was comming in from the shower.

"What am I doing in here.......   OH BOY!"
