I think sama is correct in this context, certainly more so than dono.
This is because dono is almost purely a literaray word in modern
Japanese, so to use it in speech would be considered archaic.
I know. It wouldn't surprise me at all that Ayeka's speech was archaic
in some respects.
Washu does use 'Tenchi-donno' a few times, but then she's
older than all of them put together. Never heard Aeka use
'-donno' though. I think '-san' would be better for her, which
is how she refers to Washu (I know you're talking about her
reffering to Ranma, but I think it would be about the same
level of respect).
