ummmm. so basically Nabiki and Kasumi are psychotic,
delusional and pathologically selfish?

Ha! You thought I was dead, didn't you? Sorry to
disappoint you
guys. ;)
Anyway, I'm still writing, but not as fast as I
would've liked. I've
got a couple of fics beggin' to be done, and I just
can't seem to
finish 'em. For now, you'll have to do with this fic.
Oh, BTW- C&C would be greatly appreciated!
Unlikely Sisters
Written by Dark Alpha <AlphSailor@aol.com>
Ranma 1/2 and its associated characters belongs to
Rumiko
Takasahi, and I'm only borrowing them for this story.
Infringement is not intended.

Damn her.
Damn my sister, and damn her--
*snap*
##interesting beginnning. Grabs readers attention.
Nabiki blinked in surprise as her pencil snapped into
two in
her hand. Sighing, she leaned back in her chair, her
work
already forgotten. Her mind was tumbled, in a chaotic
frenzy.
It had been close, too close for comfort.
She wasn't exactly sure why she did it, but she had
managed
to ruin Ranma and Akane's wedding. For all intents and
purposes, she should have let them gotten hitched, but
she
didn't. Why?
She had an uneasy feeling that unless she put the
wedding to
stop somehow, all of her work would have been for
nothing.
Irked that the wedding, which she had planned for all
along
in her mind, had to be abolished for the exactly same
reason
she had arranged for one in the first place, she
decided to
settle that for now, they were at status quo. It
wasn't easy
maintaining the status quo, but things were falling
apart for
her. Everything she had done was now at verge of being
wasted.
##the idea that Nabiki is a cross between Tzun Tsu and
Machiavelli
is a fanfic cliche. Recall that when she was Ranma's
fianc she rented him
out for 2,000 Yen/hour or $17.46/hour. It's an
interesting concept but there is
no evidence that:
1) Nabiki is capable of this kind of manipulation
2) Akane's life has indeed been ruined.
Nearly an year of her efforts had produced amazing
results
that she couldn't have believed, and they were still
within
the scope of her goals. Unfortunately, at the same
time, it
only made things more difficult for her. She had
failed to
##part of the post seems to be missing.
antn Nabiki's bed,
obviously uncomfortable. "Father and the Saotomes are
cleaning up the mess. I excused myself for a moment so
I
could come and talk with you, about what you did to
Akane's
wedding."
"Sorry it wasn't what you had expected."
"It's not working, isn't it?"
Kasumi had spoke quietly, but she reacted like she had
been
slapped in face. With an iron gantlet. For a moment,
anger
filled Nabiki as she interpreted the implications of
Kasumi's
words. That their plan had failed because she had been
incompetent. That she had botcheed as she let go of
herself.
"No, it's not." She replied instead. Kasumi nodded in
reply,
and sighed. Or did she? It didn't matter.
"What are we going to do now?"
Nabiki averted her gaze from Kasumi and swiveled
around in
her chair so she would stare out of the window
instead.
Silence settled in her room as she mulled over their
options.
After rejecting her last option left, she closed her
eyes and
answered, "Nothing."
"What?" She could almost hear Kasumi blinking.
"You heard me, sis. There's nothing we can do right
now. Oh
sure
##missing???
,ane, and you
know it. You always feel squeamish whenever you do
something
bad, so it's up to me to do the bad stuff. Akane
deserved it
all, and yet," she slammed her palm on her desk,
upset. "It's
not working, damn it!"
## "deserved it" ???
She continued her anger-filled rant. "It's not fair
that my
sister's always in the center of everything. All boys
thinks
she's a sort of goddess, they drool and fight over
her! Even
Daddy fawns over her. He's paying attention to _her_,
and not
to _us_!"
"No, it isn't." Kasumi agreed and trailed off. It was
evident
to her sister that she wanted to say something else.
##
It is never shown that Nabiki CARES one way or the
other. Kasumi runs the household
pretty much as she wishes. As for Akane being the
center of attention . . . that's a pretty weak
excuse for what seems to be a calculated and long term
war of revenge.
"What is it?"
"Don't you think we've done enough? If thepunishment
to continue,
but I don't think it is fair to do this to Ranma as
well."
"So you're saying that we should give up?"
Kasumi nodded. "I don't think Akane deserves this
anymore.
She's no longer a spoiled girl."
##That just came out of the blue. Far from being
spoiled, in the manga/anime Akane is the
most supportive and giving of any of the characters.
Recall that she is the one who takes in
The sisters', Sasuke, etc. She brings tea and buns to
Ranma when he is thrown out of the doujou, etc. There
is no evidence in manga/anime that Akane is spoiled.
Suddenly she stood up and
confronted Nabiki, "It's become too dangerous! She
_nearly_
died, for Kami's sake! I heard what she t-told me..."
She
trailed off as she began to sob, "I, I didn't mean for
it to
happen..."
Nabiki watched impassively as Kasumi collapsed on her
bed,
sobbing. Her face twisted for few moments asm hug.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..."
Nabiki held her sister closer, trying to soothe her.
"It's
not your fault. It just happened. It was just her bad
luck,
##It's not my fault. I was only following orders. ^_^
That's a little thin considering Nabiki set up the
whole thing.
but why don't you just forget about it. She's still
alive-
that's all it matters."
##I like that, selfish, selfserving and delusional.
However IMO if you are going to
portray Nabiki and Kasumi and raving homicidal
lunatics you need more character
development.
"Yes..." Kasumi smiled as last tears of misery left in
warmth
of Nabiki's sisterly embrace. A sister she had missed
for so
long, locked away in her obsessed task of revenge.
Few minutes later, Kasumi had recomposed herself and
had
brightened up somewhat. "Thank you, sister. I needed
that..."
"Forget it. I her sister leave and then swiveled
around back
to her homework. And sighed.
To be honest, she had been considering about giving up
anyway. She had spent several years attempting to ruin
Akane's life, and she was getting tired. At least she
made
some profit in the end.
Perhaps she would find something better to do, like
fixing up
her life she had left to atrophy during her obsession.
Perhaps date a boy of two...
She wasn't Akane, she was Nabiki Tendo!
##Here me roar!
And BTW don't EVER do anything better than I do, or
take
any attention away from me or I'll kill you.
She would prove that even _she_ could have an
interesting
life as her sister
##even if she had to kill everyone in Japan to do it..
jusded to end
it here, as a shortfic.
Instead of having Nabs ruining her sister's life,
we've got
Nabs trying to 'up' her Akane, setting out on her
adventure.
If anyone would like to continue, be my guest and let
me
know. :)
##interesting possibility in the concept of Nabiki AND
Kasumi BOTH being insanely jealous.A lot like
Cinderella. Who's the wicked stepmother?
You could always use Cologne as the fairy godmother,
Or maybe Happosai.
Needs MUCH more
character development to be believable. Too many
cliches, too many
abrupt character changes without explanation or
development.
